Leveling up so many times made Luke recover pretty fast, so his mind cleared a little bit. However, a massive lightning bolt fell from the sky and hit him in full force in the next moment. In a single instant, Shalia and Rina were knocked out senseless. Just like them, Luke suffered massive and nasty burn marks all over his body. He only survived because Nambra reacted fast and used Mana Shield to protect them. At the same time, she sent of her spheres to help him with his recovery. While that made Luke recover his consciousness, it also left her completely defenseless. Two unknown creatures landed on the flying fortress and attacked her, making her fall on the battlefield below. Luke only saw his knees bending on the ground and then he recovered some strength.
"Well, it seems that things got a bit complicated for them..." Aivern said as he watched the two overlords approaching him.
When Luke realized what had happened, he saw Shalia and Rina unconscious on his shoulders. He also noticed that Nambra was falling from the fortress. That hadn’t been a coincidence... The other overlords waited for the moment Luke would kill the giant woman to strike him down. Those guys... they trully didn’t know the meaning of the word companions... perhaps they only saw each other as usuable pawns.
He saw a weird guy landing in the area and around the overlords, he had a massive hammer that was emitting some static, so it was clear that he was the one who attacked Luke. That guy was wearing full plate armor that protected his whole body aside from his head. He seemed quite human-like with his height and features. Nothing unusual on the face, dark hair, and brown eyes... Still, Luke ignored him. He just dashed toward Nambra and grabbed her before she could hit the ground. At the same time, he used Checkpoint and returned to the flying fortress. Only to see a fish woman and another giant trying to kill Aivern... However, a Mana Shield prevented them from doing that. Those two quickly moved away by using Checkpoint.
"My skills can only work on me, my apologies for not helping her," Aivern said.
"That is very convenient..." Luke said while he was healing everyone.
"They are coming, I can at least use the potions that you prepare beforehand on them," Aivern said.
Luke took a deep breath. Before returning to the battle, he upgraded the rank of rage and Berserker. He did that while he contemplated the idea of punching himself for the pain instead of for leveling up his skills. Those skills were really useful, but they turned him into someone even dumber than usual... Regardless, Luke also used the status points that he had just earned... As if his few neurons still weren’t working properly, Luke put all of them into strength. He could see his body getting more powerful and he knew exactly what he was going to do with that...
