Chapter 92: Chapter 92: A Sales Pitch Always Catches You Off Guard
"What are you spacing out for? Let’s go."
A fellow Beastman clapped the dazed warrior on the shoulder and took off, leading the way.
Thanks to the system’s help, finding the herb went smoothly. Wu Yue had the Lion Tribe Beastman chew the herb into a pulp and feed it to the poisoned Beastman.
Then, she had his tribesman suck out some of the poisoned blood before bandaging the dark, blackened wound.
"This should do it."
She let out a breath and looked over at the Lion Tribe Beastman Warrior sitting on the ground.
She handed him the half-piece of the herb she was holding. "You helped suck out the poisoned blood, so you might be poisoned too. Eat this herb."
The Beastman glanced at her, then pursed his lips and accepted it. "Thank you, young female."
This Beastman didn’t look very old; his face still carried a youthful air. His golden hair made him look like a handsome young Westerner.
Wu Yue chuckled softly. "Go on, eat it."
The Beastman smiled shyly, popped the herb into his mouth, chewed a few times, and swallowed.
Wu Yue got up and sat down beside Grandma Hua Shu. She looked at the black herb in her hand, inwardly pleased. ’Dog System, this counts as a new plant, right?’
The system sneered. ’Dog Host, was your language arts class taught by the gym teacher?
Please read the mission description carefully. The task is to find a new *food source*. Do you misunderstand the difference between food and medicinal herbs?’
Wu Yue: ’There’s no need to be so harsh. I did do my good deed for the day.’
The system scoffed. ’If your hand hadn’t been forced, are you sure you would’ve come over to perform this "good deed"?’
Wu Yue just grumbled and decided to ignore the Dog System.
Seeing the look on her face, Grandma Hua Shu sidled up to her quietly. "Yue, what’s wrong? Was it dangerous gathering the herb just now?"
Wu Yue shook her head. "It wasn’t dangerous. Yuanlang Warrior was protecting me. Besides, it was the Beastmen from the Lion Tribe who gathered the herb."
Grandma Hua Shu looked at the herb in her hand. "An herb this precious... you and that boy Yuan Lang should have gathered more. It would be useful if someone in the tribe gets bitten by a Snake Beast."
Speaking of Snake Beasts, Grandma Hua Shu couldn’t help but shiver. "You have no idea. Every year, we have tribe members die from Snake Beast bites.
They get bitten while they’re out gathering or hunting, and there’s simply no time to find the witch for treatment before it’s too late."
She added, sighing.
"You saw it yourself. Because Beastman Warriors have strong bodies, they can hold on for a while after being bitten.
If a Pure Human had been bitten today, they wouldn’t have lasted until you got back."
Wu Yue nodded. ’That’s for sure.’ Without the self-healing abilities of the Beastmen, the victim would have already gone to meet the Beast God.
"You need to be more careful from now on. Whether you’re going out to gather or do something else, you can just call for Yuan Lang. That boy is always lazing around with nothing to do anyway."
As she spoke, she launched back into her sales pitch for her grandson.
A deep, beastman’s voice drifted up from behind Grandma Hua Shu. "I’m starting to think I was adopted."
Getting caught mid-pitch was a little awkward.
Grandma Hua Shu let out a dry laugh, pretended she needed to talk to Auntie Qingcao about something, and vanished in the blink of an eye.
No joke, most young people couldn’t compare to how fast she moved.
Wu Yue gave Yuan Lang a teasing look. "The way Grandma Hua Shu sees it, you must be a Beastman who prefers other males."
