Especially now as the sky grew dark, there was an eerie feeling, as if some dangerous creature was watching them from the shadows.

The excitement from the successful transaction vanished in an instant. Its small body trembled as it scooted closer to Wu Yue. "Host, you’re right. Fierce Beasts only start hunting after dark. We need to find a place to rest as soon as possible. It’s too dangerous at night."

After their brief exchange, both pairs of eyes turned to Tayun, who was squatting to one side and grooming its fur.
Tayun’s hind paw stiffened. It tilted its head to look at the human and the System. "AWOO AWOO?"
’Why are they looking at me like that? It’s a little scary.’
Wu Yue chuckled and stepped forward to scoop up the fluffy Tayun. "So, uh, Tayun, do you know of any caves or hiding spots nearby?"
Tayun tilted its little head, seemingly lost in thought. A moment later, it yipped twice and instantly shifted into its combat form.
"AWOO AWOO AWOO!"
Get on, get on! I’ll take you to a cave.
There’s nothing else around here, but there are plenty of caves.
It knew lots of places. In fact, it remembered chasing off a Thornback Bear a few days ago because that bear’s cave was huge and dry, and it had taken a liking to it.
Their eyes lighting up, Wu Yue and the System climbed onto Tayun’s back.
This time, Tayun didn’t fly but instead sprinted through the deep forest like a streak of white light.
When they finally arrived in a small valley, Wu Yue and the System exchanged a look.
The scenery in the small valley was stunning, but to Wu Yue’s surprise, a scan of her surroundings revealed no caves.
’So, does Tayun expect us to just sleep out in the open valley?’
Her brow twitching in exasperation, she looked down at the innocent-looking little furball at her feet. "Tayun, where’s the cave?"
’This little guy is a bit too unreliable.’
Tayun yipped twice, then marched proudly into the valley with its head held high.
Wu Yue had expected a valley like this to be teeming with Fierce Beasts, but to her surprise, it was remarkably peaceful.
Tayun pattered on ahead, stopping before a rock face and turning back to its master. "AWOO-WOO!"

Wu Yue suddenly had a bad feeling. ’The cave this little guy found isn’t just big enough for something its size, is it?’
But a second later, Wu Yue noticed several slanted openings on the seemingly flat rock face. If you weren’t looking up close, you would have definitely mistaken them for natural fissures in the stone.

Though the entrance was well-hidden, the cave itself wasn’t small at all. It was more than spacious enough to hold twenty-some people.
Having finally reached a relatively safe place, Wu Yue’s body instantly relaxed.
The pain and exhaustion from all over her body washed over her at once.
"Hiss... That really hurts."

The cave was very dry inside, with a faint, rank odor that wasn’t too overpowering.
Wu Yue scooped up Little Tanyun and ruffled its little head. "Little guy, now that you’re with me, you’ll have to bathe more often. This cave of yours doesn’t smell very pleasant."

A big, dumb bear used to live here! That guy never bathed. He was so filthy!
When it mentioned the big, dumb bear, it even gave a vicious wave of its little paws.
Only after the little fella was done with its tirade did Wu Yue casually pat its head. "Alright, alright, my mistake. You’re a clean little beast."
Tayun sat on the ground, panting, and stared at its master’s retreating back in disbelief.
’I hopped around like that for so long, and that’s all I get?’
Grumbling aside, its master had come to the cave to rest, so the little fella still scampered out happily and brought back a large pile of hay.
"AWOO AWOO!"
After placing the hay deep inside the cave, the little guy looked at Wu Yue and wagged its tail, its eyes sparkling.
