Chapter 130: Chapter 130: Think I’m Easy to Bully?

"Yuan Lang, do you ever make a sound when you walk?"

A low chuckle rumbled beside her. The Beastman’s deep-set eyes shone with delight, and the curve of his lips spoke of his excellent mood.

"I spoke with my Father yesterday. The uncles also agreed to let you come with us, but once we’re in the forest, you have to stay by my side. No running off on your own."

Wu Yue turned back to him, speechless. "Do you take me for an idiot?"

’The Polar Forest was so dangerous. Just how overconfident would she have to be to do something as idiotic as running off on her own?’

Yuan Lang chuckled, his hand darting out to snatch a fragrant piece of stir-fried meat and wild vegetables from the small, sizzling stone pot and pop it into his mouth.

He started huffing and puffing, the food still scalding hot, but he couldn’t stop himself from trying to chew and swallow it.

Wu Yue sneered. "Serves you right for being so greedy."

Suddenly, her expression darkened as she stared at the Beastman’s long fingers. "Did you wash your hands?"

A glint appeared in Yuan Lang’s deep eyes, and he scratched his head, feigning embarrassment. "Huh? Wash my hands? Why? I just came back from the latrine pit."

As he spoke, he did his best to suppress the hint of anticipation in his eyes.

Wu Yue was just about to dump the food from the pot onto a nearby leaf for the unhygienic Beastman to eat.

But then she noticed the peculiar look in the Beastman’s eyes and sneered inwardly.

’That Yuan Lang is so sly. Making up a lie like that just because he wants to eat my food. Did he really think I wouldn’t notice that flicker of excitement in his eyes?’

She tossed a piece of meat into her mouth, then raised a smug eyebrow at Yuan Lang’s disappointed face. "You little punk. You dare try your tricks on me!"

With a triumphant little hum, she carried her small stone pot and went inside.

Outside, Yuan Lang licked his fingers, savoring the lingering taste. He shook his head, a look of regret on his face. "Females these days are getting harder and harder to fool."

Meanwhile, in the Lion Tribe’s cave, the Beastmen were talking excitedly amongst themselves.

Suddenly, a figure rushed in from outside the cave. "Clan Leader, something terrible has happened!"

The Lion Tribe Clan Leader shot to his feet, his expression grave as he looked at the Beastman. "What happened?"

A few Beastmen from the tribe hadn’t returned yesterday, but that was a common occurrence.

Most of the time, it just meant they’d gone off to mate with a female who had caught their eye.

The Beastman’s expression was grim. "Yesterday, one of our tribe’s Beastmen found Ye Duo when she came out to use the latrine and lured her away.

"But we didn’t expect that this female, Ye Duo, was actually pregnant. The two of them got a little too excited, and... she lost the cub."

A cub!

The Lion Tribe Clan Leader felt his head spin. "What kind of female fools around while she’s pregnant with a cub?"

The Beastman looked distressed. "She must have only just gotten pregnant, so our tribesman couldn’t smell it on her. But Ye Duo, being a female, must have known. She just didn’t tell him."

Hearing this, the Lion Tribe Clan Leader paused, then looked at the Beastman. "Do we know who the cub’s Father is?"

The Beastman nodded. "I think it’s a Half-beastman Warrior."

The Lion Tribe Clan Leader’s eyes narrowed, and a cold sneer crept across his face. "Come with me. We’re going to see the Clan Leader of the Snow Tiger Tribe."

’That female, Ye Duo, has some nerve, trying to use a member of my Lion Tribe. Does she think we’re pushovers?’
