Chapter 2584: Chapter 2584: Immortal Palace Skeletons
The three Crystal Skulls were the notorious ancient thieves. After dying in battle, their bones remained intact, gradually reviving bit by bit.
Although they haven’t regained their ancient memories and powers, some instincts are still preserved. Once recovered, it’s only a matter of time.
Could it be that the condition of these skeletons is similar to the three Crystal Skulls?
Judging by the Illusion’s attitude towards them, these skeletons are certainly not allies.
Thinking of this, Su Yang was suddenly startled: Could these skeletons be the remnants of those Guardian Gods from the Ancient War?
Looking around at the skeletons, this really seems possible. Otherwise, why would the Heaven Slayer’s Illusion have such an attitude towards them?
Moreover, these skeletons appeared within the Array of the Great Main God. Su Yang has reason to suspect that this Array was specifically meant to summon these skeletons to deal with the allied forces!
"Roar!" From afar came another roar, seemingly issuing an order.
The surrounding skeletons that had already risen up started howling immediately and charged towards Su Yang.
Su Yang’s expression changed dramatically; these skeletons planned to besiege him!
These skeletons were left behind by powerful Ancient Guardian Gods. Although Su Yang’s bones were formidable, to face so many opponents alone, he was certainly no match.
At this moment, the Illusion in the air descended without Su Yang’s consent and directly fused with his bones.
At that moment, Su Yang didn’t feel anything special. The previous feeling of his body almost exploding during fusion with the Illusion was completely absent now.
Su Yang had a realization. So it turns out, the fusion of the Illusion with his body was actually always fusing with his bones, not his body?
However, when the Illusion fused with his bones, the power was so strong that his physical body bore immense pressure, leading to that feeling of his body about to explode.
After the Illusion fused with his bones, his body was no longer under Su Yang’s control. Without any movement on Su Yang’s part, he flew into the air, rapidly heading towards the source of the earlier sound.
The skeletons behind, seeing this, accelerated their chase.
Upon crossing the mountain, a vast and magnificent palace came into view.
The palace was enveloped in Misty Qi, and from a distance, there was a plaque on the palace. On the plaque were the characters — Immortal Palace!
As he approached the palace, Su Yang noticed it was actually in ruins. Under the splendor was a mass of broken bricks and fallen walls, as if it had undergone the baptism of war. The overall appearance remained but couldn’t be closely examined, with war remnants everywhere.
More skeletons stood outside the palace, and when they saw Su Yang approaching, they quickly leapt into the air, ready to block him.
Su Yang was anxious but couldn’t control his body. Seeing that he was about to collide with these skeletons, he suddenly stretched out his hand and pulled out a long blade from the Void — it was the Heaven-Slaying Blade.
The Heaven-Slaying Blade swept out, directly cleaving through the oncoming skeletons. More than a dozen leading skeletons shattered into bone fragments, scattering across the ground. The others, though not shattered, were also severely damaged, losing limbs and suffering injuries.
Yet Su Yang didn’t pause, flying through the skeletons and reaching over the Immortal Palace. The Heaven-Slaying Blade was now aimed directly at the palace below.
From within the Immortal Palace came an angry roar, seemingly infuriating someone. The Misty Qi roiled fiercely, as if someone was about to burst forth.
The skeletons in the rear, witnessing this, all knelt down reverently, waiting intently for something.
Before long, the Misty Qi burst open, and from within the Immortal Palace emerged an enormous skeleton, standing face to face with Su Yang in the Void.
This skeleton differed from the others; it had an additional eye socket on its forehead, containing a crimson flame. The other two eye sockets, like the skeletons below, held ghostly blue flames.
The three-eyed skeleton stared coldly at Su Yang. Su Yang sensed that the Illusion’s attention wasn’t on this three-eyed skeleton but fixated on the palace below.
However, throughout the process, Su Yang felt like an outsider, with no sense of involvement, merely a spectator.
A while later, the three-eyed skeleton seemed provoked, letting out a roar and suddenly charging at Su Yang.
The Illusion then shifted its focus to the three-eyed skeleton, raising the Heaven-Slaying Blade and striking abruptly.
Faced with the formidable Heaven-Slaying Blade, the three-eyed skeleton didn’t hesitate. Its forehead eye glared intensely, and a burst of flame shot forth, directly colliding with the Heaven-Slaying Blade.
A resounding clang broke the silence, the immense force scattering many of the nearby skeleton observers.
Yet, the Heaven-Slaying Blade didn’t pause, cleaving through the flame and heading straight for the three-eyed skeleton.
The three-eyed skeleton finally panicked, attempting to dodge rapidly, but it was too late. Where the Heaven-Slaying Blade passed, even space solidified, imprisoning it within.
With one strike, the three-eyed skeleton was cleaved in half, crashing heavily onto the Misty Qi of the Immortal Palace.
A gap opened within the Misty Qi, enveloping the three-eyed skeleton completely.
Soon, another roar emanated from within the Immortal Palace, and the Misty Qi surged once more, indicating someone else was about to emerge.
This time, the Illusion seemed annoyed and suddenly uttered a series of extremely peculiar syllables.
These syllables were entirely incomprehensible to Su Yang.
However, the roaring within the Misty Qi grew even more intense, as if someone inside had been enraged.
Su Yang couldn’t help but wonder, were these syllables an ancient language? Was the Illusion provoking the inhabitants of the palace?
Finally, another figure burst forth from the Misty Qi.
This figure appeared normal in stature, neither particularly towering nor possessing three eyes. The only unique feature was three pairs of bone wings on its back. The wings bore no flesh or feathers, resembling three pairs of bone saws more than anything.
Seeing the figure, the Illusion uttered another contemptuous, peculiar syllable.
The six-winged skeleton was instantly enraged and roared as it charged towards Su Yang.
The Illusion raised the Heaven-Slaying Blade just as the six-winged skeleton unfurled its three pairs of wings. With a flap, it vanished from Su Yang’s sight, as if it had never appeared.
Su Yang was puzzled. What was happening? Did the six-winged skeleton turn invisible? Why did it suddenly disappear?
Just as he was bewildered, Su Yang’s body moved. His left hand swiftly reached out towards his left front, grabbing forcefully.
