Chapter 333 - Mo Chenyin’s Past

The man’s smile grew increasingly gentle. “Chenyin, from this day forward, you are my disciple.”

With a sweep of his large sleeve, he vanished along with the girl. The scene quickly shifted before Gu Han could think further. He found himself in a valley filled with spirit herbs and exotic flowers, resembling a paradise on earth.

A young girl appeared in his line of sight. “Junior Sister!”

Gu Han froze the moment he saw her. So beautiful!

Compared to before, the girl now wore a pure white dress. Nourished by spirit qi, she no longer had that dull appearance. Although still young, she already possessed a semblance of breathtaking, world-toppling beauty.

Only the sorrow and emptiness within her gaze remained the same. Along with the calls, several female cultivators landed beside her. Even though their appearances couldn’t match hers, they were still rare beauties.

“Junior Sister, so you’re here.”

“Why did you come out alone again?”

“Are you still thinking about your grandfather?”

“Master said that from now on, we’re all family. If you’re unhappy, then we’re unhappy too.”

The women comforted her softly with affection and heartache. They were even more intimate than blood relatives.

Gu Han pondered thoughtfully. Judging by the situation, Mo Chenyin had already been brought back to the sect and accepted as a disciple. Only, given the man’s earlier behavior, he felt that everything about these female cultivators’ actions seemed strangely off.

The demoness’ gaze dimmed, a hint of mockery lurking in her eyes.

Then, the scene shifted again. Unlike before, where it lingered on a specific scene, it was as if time had accelerated many times. In less than two hours, it felt as though decades had passed.

No matter how the scenes shifted, they all unfolded through Mo Chenyin’s perspective. Gu Han remained vigilant and watched quietly.

This illusion definitely did not appear without reason. Although he couldn’t figure out its source, as long as he watched to the end, the truth would come to light. Similarly, he also grew a bit curious about the demoness’ past.

Based on the illusion, Mo Chenyin didn’t seem to have a lot of fellow disciples. There were only a dozen or so in total, male and female combined. But each one treated her with utmost care, almost as if she were the sect’s precious treasure.

“Junior Sister, if anyone bullies you, I will annihilate them!”

“Junior Sister, come, today I will accompany you to lift your spirits!”

“Junior Sister, your foundation is a bit weak. I’m giving you this pill that can enhance aptitude!”

From time to time, Gu Han could hear these extremely concerned words, and sighed inwardly. Those words reminded him of Zuo Yang, Yu Miao, and Feng Xi. After all, the three treated him well unconditionally. Only, they were sincere, while these people in the illusion weren’t.

Mo Chenyin had grown up alone and miserable. She had no family aside from her grandfather. Now, surrounded by so many people’s genuine love, her pain gradually dissipated, and she began to smile more often.

During this time, the man appeared infrequently. Every time he did, he bestowed her a tremendous amount of priceless cultivation resources. His words were also full of care, as if she were his own daughter. Thus, Mo Chenyin came to regard this place as her home. She saw her fellow disciples and master as her closest family, just like her grandfather.

Only a short moment passed outside, but more than a decade had passed in the illusion. By now, Mo Chenyin had become breathtakingly beautiful. Her temperament was cold, yet unique and ethereal. It seemed that just one look could deeply draw a person’s soul inside.

A word flashed through Gu Han’s mind. Soul-stealing, heart-snatching!

Mo Chenyin’s beauty had reached its peak, surpassing that of Liu Ying by several notches. Among all the women he had encountered, only Feng Xi could rival her in looks.

Just then, the man appeared once more, solemnly bestowing a mysterious cultivation art. “This is the Nine Revolution Mystic Art! If you complete the nine revolutions, the Great Dao will be within reach!”

Mo Chenyin wept tears of gratitude without the slightest suspicion. She took the art and began cultivating diligently. Her thoughts were simple and very pure. “She felt that her master’s kindness was as heavy as a mountain. Hence, to repay him, she would cherish everything before her and cultivate well.

Gu Han said, “Something’s wrong!”

He could see that Mo Chenyin’s cultivation aptitude wasn’t particularly good. In more than a decade within this sect, even with a mountain of resources piled upon her, she had only barely reached the ninth stage of the Soaring realm. Even compared to people like Murong Yan, she still fell far short.

However, after obtaining the Nine Revolution Mystic Art, her cultivation progress was beyond terrifying. In just one year, she broke through three major realms consecutively, advancing directly from the Soaring realm into the Transcendent realm. Another year, she entered the Saint realm. Yet another year, she broke through the Saint realm and entered a realm that even Gu Han could only look up to.

Even stranger, after practicing the mystic art, her beauty improved several folds. Her ethereal coldness also became increasingly pronounced. Although it was just an illusion, every time Gu Han looked at her, he felt his blood surge. His heart faintly stirred with an inexplicable restlessness and wicked fire.

Just then, the illusion’s speed suddenly slowed.

Inside a magnificent dwelling, Mo Chenyin opened her eyes, filled with excitement and joy. “Wonderful! The nine revolutions are complete! I’m now a cultivator of the Ascension realm! I’ll go surprise them!”

Quietly forming a hand seal, she concealed herself and escaped out of the dwelling. Soon, she arrived beside a white jade pavilion where everyone usually gathered, just in time to see several senior brothers and sisters laughing and talking nonstop. The group had no guard up and her cultivation had surpassed theirs. Of course, they didn’t notice her arrival.

A male disciple sighed, his gaze filled with obsession and lust, a far cry from his usual gentle image. “Chenyin grows more beautiful each day. It’s hard not to be moved when facing her.”

Another person also revealed a lustful gleam in his eyes. “Exactly! The temptation is too great. I can hardly keep up the act any longer!”

A female cultivator sneered coldly. “Wishful thinking! Master has invested all his efforts in her. If you touched her, Master’s methods... Don’t you know?”

Several people jolted with fear.

The first person sighed. “Playing along with her every day, putting on an act, isn’t that just torture? I’m afraid I’ll slip up one day.”

Another female cultivator’s face twisted with jealousy. “Hmph! You think I am not annoyed? I’m about to throw up pretending to be the good senior sister every day!”

She and another female cultivator slipped into the arms of two men.

“Senior Brothers, you haven’t sought us out for dual cultivation in so long...”

“What’s so good about that little wretch? Aside from her looks, does she understand charm like we do?”

“Exactly. Our skills are a thousand times better than hers.”

“When Master returns this time, she should have come out of seclusion too. By then, with her nine revolutions complete... What will happen to her? Hehe!

Then came the sounds of debauchery. This didn’t seem to be their first time doing such things. They even remembered to set up several restrictions as a warning.

In the distance, Mo Chenyin had turned deathly pale. She stood there, completely stunned. They were the people she respected the most. As far as she could remember, they had always been gentle, humble, and approachable. Who would’ve expected them to be like this behind her back?

She was simpleminded, but not stupid. All their affection, care, and attention were fake. They were simply playing along with her.

Gu Han vaguely understood why the demoness had become what she was now.

He couldn’t help but ask, “What happened next? You didn’t run away after learning the truth?”

The demoness murmured to herself, “I ran... I ran with all my might... I ran for a very, very long time... But... he caught up to me...”

Her gaze was vacant, as if she was immersed in the illusion.

Soon, the illusion shifted again. Gu Han felt the light darken around him as he found himself in a pitch-black void.

Strangely enough, this illusion seemed extremely unstable, as if it could shatter at any moment. He could even faintly hear the sound of sword chants and roars.
