Zhou Mishu looked at the old man’s worried expression and then at the team leader, who appeared nonchalant. It seemed the CEO hadn’t taken any of the old man’s advice to heart. Otherwise, the CEO would have acted already instead of delaying.
We can only assume that this old man somehow offended the CEO. Otherwise, the CEO would never refuse someone asking for help under normal circumstances. It’s unfortunate that today the CEO set conditions in response, suggesting the other party had done something rather over-the-line. Perhaps, in future, it is best not to be overly eager to assist.
