Chapter 183: Chapter 183: The Disappointing Grandson_1

Zhou Peng looked at Ye Fei with undisguised disdain, his gaze flippant.

Suddenly, the elderly man about to pass away seated beside them opened his mouth, interrupting him.

"Zhou Peng!"

"Go back to your seat."

The man in the suit froze for a moment, but in front of the goddess, he didn’t want to let Ye Fei off so easily.

"Elder Zhou, this man is just a native; we don’t have to fear him..."

Slap!

Elder Zhou astonishingly rose to his feet and slapped the man across the face.

The fair complexion immediately turned crimson, swelling up.

"Can’t you understand when I speak?"

The old man’s body was stooped, his voice not loud.

But his words were clear commands, his tone brooking no doubt.

The man got slapped and then got yelled at.

Instantly, he shrunk like a mouse seeing a cat, gathered his things, and left hastily.

However, as he passed by Ye Fei, the look he gave was unspeakably sinister.

Canglang Province was his territory.

Once off the plane, whether Ye Fei lived or died was up to his word.

"Young man, my junior has been ignorant, and I apologize to you on his behalf," said the old man, settling back into his seat. Beside him, the burly man nodded meaningfully and cast a glance at Ye Fei.

"It’s nothing," said Ye Fei, waving his hand, not taking it to heart.

In his view, Zhou Peng was but an ant.

How could a summer insect understand ice, and how could he comprehend what kind of existence Ye Fei was?

When Ye Fei’s capabilities came to light, that would be Zhou Peng’s end.

After sitting down, Ye Fei closed his eyes to rest.

After a while, an elderly voice suddenly reached his ears.

It was the old man who had spoken earlier. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

"Yunyun, let’s switch seats, I felt a bit stuffy sitting over there just now."

Upon hearing this, the woman immediately stood up, asking with a face full of concern:

"Elder Zhou, are you feeling unwell? Do you need me to..."

The old man waved his hand to interrupt her, chuckling as he said:

"This old man might be over seventy, but my health is still passable. It’s just a bit stuffy, and I want to switch seats with you."

Upon hearing this, the woman said no more, hurriedly standing up to give up her seat.

The old man sat down, but suddenly began to cough violently.

The previous burly man sprang to his feet, quickly pulling out a packet of pills from his bag and handing it over.

The woman known as "Yunyun" also rushed over, opening a bottle of mineral water and helping the old man to take his medication, then gently patted the elder’s back.

After a long time, the old man’s complexion finally regained its rosiness. He waved his hand to reassure them and then, smiling, said to Ye Fei:

"Young fellow, you must think this is a farce."

"Frankly speaking, our trip to Qingyun State was because we heard that the Divine Doctor was coming out of seclusion. But as soon as we arrived, we heard he had gone to Canglang Province, so we had to turn back."

Ye Fei nodded, noting the name "Divine Doctor," then asked:

"And your health..."

"It’s nothing serious, just a pileup of small problems," he said, though he could not hide it from Ye Fei.

Using his Starry Eyes earlier, he had detected many hidden ailments in the old man, but beneath those minor maladies lurked a tremendous risk!

If not for the constant care he received, considering his condition, he would likely have been long dead by now.

Elder Zhou did not notice the change in Ye Fei’s expression, continuing to say cheerfully:

"However, this time, I must get the Divine Doctor to take action no matter what. All these miscellaneous ailments of mine have given the big hospital doctors such a headache that they dare not treat me. Although I’ve lived over seventy years, who wouldn’t want to live a little longer?"

"So, this Divine Doctor can really handle it?"

Ye Fei raised an eyebrow, asking curiously.

"You can tell you’re a bumpkin; you’ve never even heard of the Divine Doctor!"

At that moment, an untimely voice sounded. Zhou Peng had somehow returned, looking at Ye Fei with disdain:

"The Divine Doctor’s fame has spread overseas; it was only recently that he returned to Qingyun State. The people wanting to be treated by him have practically broken down the doorsteps. But it’s normal for a bumpkin like you not to know about such matters."

"Shut your mouth!" Zhou Peng was just getting into his stride when Elder Zhou cut him off again.

"You! Go to the back, now!" The old man pointed decisively, and Zhou Peng, scared out of his wits, did not dare to speak, shrinking his neck and scurrying away.

The old man sat back down but remained gasping for breath, struggling to say:

"This damned kid, all spoiled by me, speaking so impertinently... Young man, don’t stoop to his level."

Ye Fei waved his hand nonchalantly, speaking softly, "No worries, you should just relax a bit."

There’s a saying that a family with an elder is like possessing a treasure.

When Zhou Peng made a mistake, the elder immediately intervened, apologizing continuously to Ye Fei.

Even Ye Fei no longer felt the urge to retaliate against Zhou Peng.

The elder had inadvertently spared his unworthy grandson a catastrophic fate.

"This unworthy grandson of mine, when will he ever give me peace of mind," said the old man, shaking his head and sighing, "If he could put forth a bit of effort, perhaps I might live a few more years..."

Ye Fei chuckled silently. So all those ailments of yours were caused by your grandson’s doing?

The old man seemed ready to say more, but as soon as he opened his mouth, he found he couldn’t speak.

Suddenly, the old man’s throat grew hoarse, as if something was stuck, and then his eyes rolled back, his entire body slumping to one side.
