Chapter 696: Chapter 695: Extreme Bliss Space

In the Outer Realm, Ye Fan had been training for many days. Now, only five days remained until his battle with the Little God Monarch, yet he felt deeply anxious. The reason was none other than his failure to break through to the third major realm. He had been on the cusp of a breakthrough, and his previous advancements had all come naturally. This time, however, was different; he couldn’t find his way at all.

Looking at the evening sky, Ye Fan’s anxiety mounted. Strange. I’ve accumulated enough power and I understand the realm sufficiently, so why can’t I break through? he wondered. He was, in fact, quite speechless. This third great tribulation seemed to be toying with him, leaving him at a complete loss. With only five days left, achieving a breakthrough seemed almost impossible, especially since he still hadn’t found a single clue.

At this moment, he summoned the Misfortune Pangolin and the Demon Sky Monkey. The two had been instructing their descendants to mine the Immortal Mine and were thoroughly enjoying themselves. They spent their days causing trouble and playing in the Outer Realm, having a wonderful time.

"Master, for what important matter have you summoned us?" they asked.

"The day of the decisive battle is almost here, but I can’t even find the slightest hint of a breakthrough," Ye Fan said. "What do you think I should do?"

The Demon Sky Monkey spoke up. "It seems you aren’t familiar with this kind of bottleneck, Master. But that’s simple. Going to a certain place might help you break through!"

"What place?" Ye Fan asked with curiosity.

"The Extreme Bliss Space!" declared the Demon Sky Monkey. "It’s a place where you can forget all your troubles. It’s very mysterious. The danger is said to be purely psychological! Your consciousness can be drawn in at any moment, trapping you so you can’t escape!"

"What kind of place is the Extreme Bliss Space?" Ye Fan inquired.

"It’s a place where you can forget everything. Once you’re there, all your worries and problems vanish. After that, maybe you’ll succeed, maybe not. Everything depends on fate! But be cautious when you’re truly lost in what feels like a waking dream, for that is the deadly trap of the Extreme Bliss Space!

"Many people have had their souls ensnared there, becoming prisoners for life, unable to break free! But a few have managed to penetrate its mysteries and obtain boundless fortune!

"Just remember: what you see is not necessarily real, nor is it necessarily fake!" he warned.

"How do you know about such a peculiar place?" Ye Fan asked.

The Demon Sky Monkey stated proudly, "Because I was once stationed there! But Master, that place is truly terrifying. Do not go there unless absolutely necessary! Most people who enter never make it out!"

"But didn’t you say a small number of people did make it out?" Ye Fan pressed.

"That small number," the Demon Sky Monkey replied, "died on the spot inside!"

Ye Fan sucked in a breath of cold air. Such a horrifying place was indeed hair-raising, but given the circumstances, he had no other choice.

The Misfortune Pangolin, unable to bear it any longer, said to Ye Fan, "Master, don’t listen to this monkey’s nonsense! That place is genuinely dangerous!"

"Even if it is dangerous, I have to go," Ye Fan insisted. "I truly have no other choice. I have to take this risk—it might actually lead to a breakthrough!"

This was Ye Fan’s line of thinking. He was completely out of ideas, so taking a chance seemed worthwhile. Since others had succeeded before, he believed he could too.

Unable to dissuade Ye Fan, the Misfortune Pangolin could only turn to the Demon Sky Monkey. "Our fates are tied to the Master’s. I hope you aren’t leading him astray!"

"I wouldn’t dare, I wouldn’t dare!" the Demon Sky Monkey immediately responded. He had originally joined Ye Fan solely to find a way to lift his curse, not to truly serve him for three hundred years. As things stood, however, Ye Fan’s courage and boldness had far exceeded his expectations. For the first time, Ye Fan had earned his respect.

"Lead the way!" Ye Fan said.

The Demon Sky Monkey led them to a place that seemed both dreamlike and illusory. It was filled with a five-colored light that held even more extraordinary wonders within. Ye Fan marveled at the sight; it was truly a magnificent place, and he could smell a peaceful aura.

At that moment, the Demon Sky Monkey said, "Master, once you set foot in here, you must be extremely careful! Do not lose your soul in this place! Your soul must never leave your body, because this place is also known as the Soul-Snatching Land. It’s filled with countless Illusion Techniques and colors, so you must be vigilant!"

He had warned Ye Fan many times, and Ye Fan now fully believed this was an exceptionally terrifying place. "I will be," Ye Fan replied, stepping into the land of multicolored light.

Within, Ye Fan felt a sense of ease wash over him, a comforting feeling that brought him solace. His weary body relaxed, and his oppressed mind felt free from the slightest bit of pressure. It truly is a magical place! he inwardly marveled. Stepping in here had made him feel drowsy. It really was the Extreme Bliss Space; in that moment, all his worries and annoyances were cast aside.

"Darling!" a voice called out.

Ye Fan turned to see Su Qingxue, his aloof wife, waving at him. Everything was unchanged, still so familiar. Although it had been many years since they had last seen each other, the sight of her now moved Ye Fan deeply. He ran toward her, calling out, "Qingxue, I’m here!"

However, he suddenly stopped in his tracks.

"Why aren’t you coming over?" Su Qingxue asked. "Have you forgotten about your long-suffering wives now that you have a new love?"

"You come here!" Ye Fan replied immediately.

"You heartless jerk! How could you forget the promises you made us? It hasn’t even been that long, and you’ve already thrown everything to the back of your mind. I can’t believe you’re this kind of person! I must tell the other sisters and let them see you for the vile, despicable man you truly are!" Su Qingxue cried bitterly.

"Qingxue, everything here is a mix of real and fake. I’m just being cautious. Don’t be sad!" Ye Fan said.

"Cautious? A fine way to be ’cautious.’ Now I see how shameless you are. Are you too scared to come over just because I might be fake? Then why did you always say you loved me? It seems your so-called love was all just an act!" Su Qingxue retorted.

Stung by her words, Ye Fan suddenly snapped back to his senses. Right! What the hell am I thinking? Why am I being so timid? He remembered the Demon Sky Monkey’s words: what he saw wasn’t necessarily real, nor was it necessarily fake. Was he really afraid to take a chance between truth and lies? No, that definitely wasn’t his style. And so, Ye Fan rushed forward and pulled Su Qingxue into his arms. "My love, I don’t care anymore!" he said. "Even if you’re fake, I’ll take that risk. I have no regrets!"

At that moment, however, the voice of the Su Qingxue lying in his arms changed. "Is that so?" she asked.

SWISH!

The Yuanhong Sword flew out, severing her head. The head turned out to be a flower—or rather, a Cannibal Flower.

That was close, Ye Fan thought with a jolt. It really was an illusion. It was a Cannibal Flower that could transform based on my thoughts. If I had hesitated for even a moment longer, I would have been devoured.

"This place is truly fraught with peril," Ye Fan said aloud.
