Chapter 673: Chapter 672: Huang Ji’s Intentions

Huang Ji naturally witnessed this scene as well. Her face flushed an even deeper red with embarrassment as she huffed, "Hmph! You’re bullying me!"

Then she fled as fast as she could.

"Hey, you can’t just do half the job! You haven’t even wiped my back yet! Can’t you wipe my back before you leave?"

Ye Fan was incredibly frustrated. Who leaves in the middle of something like that? He felt miserable, but he was helpless to move.

...

For the next few days, Ye Fan focused on his recuperation. He hadn’t expected Huang Ji to be a woman of such refined tastes; she had painted several landscape scrolls and hung them on the walls. By the window, she had placed a few pots of flowers, which, combined with the tidy furniture, gave the cottage an air of serene elegance—an effect that someone as crude as Ye Fan could never hope to replicate.

Moreover, Huang Ji’s culinary skills were quite impressive, a fact Ye Fan had come to fully appreciate. After a few more days, he was finally able to get out of bed and walk again. Huang Ji supported him as they stood beside the vibrant flowers just outside the bamboo grove.

At that moment, Ye Fan asked her, "You’ve been away for quite a while. When do you plan on going back?"

"What do you mean? Are you trying to get rid of me?" Huang Ji demanded.

"No, no, not at all!" Ye Fan replied quickly.

"Hmph! I plan on wandering to the ends of the earth with you. I’m not going back," Huang Ji pouted.

Ye Fan was exasperated. He would have much preferred she return. They were gods from opposing paths, and he didn’t want to cause any misunderstandings.

For this reason, he told her, "I understand how you feel, but if the world knew you were with me, you would truly lose your standing among the Evil Gods."

"I don’t need a reputation!" Huang Ji insisted.

Ye Fan was speechless. He then added, "But what about your father? He would never allow his daughter to marry a hereditary foe!"

"He can’t control my choices!" Huang Ji declared.

"But are you really prepared to give everything up? To be with me, you’ll have to endure a prolonged loneliness, just like me. Right now, I miss my wives so much, but I can’t be with them!" Ye Fan said, his voice heavy with sorrow.

Huang Ji’s expression shifted, and her voice turned cold. "You already have wives?"

"I do! More than just one, in fact. If I were to count them all, I have more than a dozen," Ye Fan stated calmly.

"Ah!"

With a shove from Huang Ji, the still-healing Ye Fan was sent sprawling into a bed of flowers. The fall was jarring, and with his wounds not yet fully closed, he suffered immensely.

As for Huang Ji, she stormed angrily back toward the bamboo cottage.

Tears streamed down her face. She had stayed in this place for a whole year, and it had been the happiest time of her life. She had moved past the bitterness of a love turned to hate and had only dreamed of being with Ye Fan. She never expected that he already had more than a dozen women. She disliked womanizers, but that didn’t mean she disliked Ye Fan.

Perhaps this is just how life is. What one gets is never perfect; there are always flaws. What troubled her now was whether she could truly accept that Ye Fan had so many women. Honestly, deep down, she found it unacceptable. She believed her man should love only her.

She took out an embroidered silk handkerchief, upon which was imprinted a portrait of her mother. She vaguely remembered her mother being frail during her childhood, and how she used to spend all day by her side. Her mother had been one of the rare fairies in the Divine Domain and once the most beautiful of all women. She had asked her mother why she married her father when he had so many other women.

She recalled her mother’s words: when you truly love someone, you throw all caution to the wind.

Huang Ji wiped the tears from her eyes and whispered, "Mother, I never understood. But now that I see clearly, it’s not too late!"

Just then, Ye Fan walked in with a limp. The moment he saw Huang Ji, he instinctively tensed up. He couldn’t help it; he was genuinely afraid she might send him flying with a single kick, a loss his body couldn’t afford.

However, he saw Huang Ji’s gaze soften as she gently guided him to a chair.

Noticing her reddened eyes, Ye Fan asked, "Have you been crying?"

"It’s none of your business!" Huang Ji pouted.

At this moment, she was no longer the lofty genius, but an emotional young woman who was quick to cry, revealing a more vulnerable side.

Ye Fan found this amusing, which nearly provoked Huang Ji into attacking him.

Just then, she asked, "Are you truly devoted to every single one of your women?"

"Of course," Ye Fan replied. "No matter where I go, I never stop thinking about them. Although we can’t reunite now, the day we do will surely be the happiest of days. That is the very reason I have embarked on this path. It is to provide them with a safe home, free of any danger. I have always been fighting for this goal!" he declared emphatically.

Huang Ji nodded. She had thought Ye Fan was merely a philanderer who flirted everywhere without taking any real responsibility. Now she saw that the responsibility he shouldered was the greatest any man could possibly bear.

"I won’t hold your past against you. I will stay by your side until we grow old together!" Huang Ji declared immediately.

Her words left Ye Fan at a loss for a response. He had tried to get her to give up, but to his surprise, she remained resolute.

She truly was a stubborn woman. He felt helpless and could only take things one step at a time.

...

Finally, after another ten days, Ye Fan felt his body had fully recovered. At that moment, he returned to his peak. He launched himself into the air, soaring gracefully through the sky. Unquestionably, when a person regains their freedom, their heart fills with joy, and they cherish that freedom. Ye Fan was exactly that kind of person.

Huang Ji was also very happy. Her previous heartbreak began to dissipate. Even though there was no substantial relationship between them, she always felt a sense of joy when she was with him.

Just then, Ye Fan suddenly descended and landed before her. "This is for you!"

Huang Ji took the flower. It was beautiful, blooming with seven different colors and emitting a delightful fragrance. She was overjoyed.

"Thank you!" she exclaimed with delight, throwing herself into his arms. The embrace felt wonderful, made all the more magical by the setting sun.

That night, Ye Fan said, "Tomorrow, I’m heading deeper into the Outer Domain!"

"Where to?" Huang Ji asked.

The terror of the Outer Domain was infamous throughout the Divine Domain. It was known as the most perilous place, but it was also a land brimming with opportunity. With so many dangerous locations, she had no idea where Ye Fan intended to go.

Ye Fan then said, "The Abyss Valley!"

Huang Ji was instantly terrified. The Abyss Valley was once the site of an Immortal Mine—and no ordinary one, but a mine that supplied vast amounts of energy. Later, a Main God took control of it and began harvesting on a massive scale, only to unearth a terrifying monster. The resulting battle blotted out the sun and moon.

In that battle, even the War God who led the excavation was gravely injured. He withdrew from the Outer Domain and swore never to set foot in the Outer Realm again. That War God was the Demon Suppression Main God. The Demon Suppression Main God had wanted the energy from the Immortal Mines to construct a peerless Array, but the incident nearly led to his utter destruction. Since then, no martial artist from the Demon Suppression Sect has dared to venture into the Outer Domain, not even its fringes.

At this, Huang Ji said urgently, "You can’t! It’s too dangerous. The Demon Suppression Main God was cursed back then, and to this day he doesn’t dare enter the Outer Realm. If he ever sets foot in the Outer Realm again, the curse will recur! And the place where he was cursed all those years ago was the Abyss Valley!" she reminded him, her voice filled with panic. It was simply too risky.
