Chapter 608: Chapter 607 Peeking in the Dark

Just then, the gray-robed elder summoned Ye Fan into their VIP hall. He had already placed the items Ye Fan had won inside several exquisitely wrapped boxes on the table. "Daoist, these are your things," he said. "Please take a look and confirm they are the items you wanted."

"There’s no need," Ye Fan replied, placing a bag on the table. "Here are my Immortal Mines. Please count them carefully."

The gray-robed elder was instantly stunned. Although he had mentally prepared himself, his heart couldn’t help but race at the sight of such materials.

"Daoist, my name is Housekeeper He, and I serve the God Slaying City Lord," he said. "This is the Token of the Lord of God Slaying. With this, no one in Evil City will dare to provoke you."

The housekeeper’s implication was clear: Ye Fan was bound to face trouble. He had revealed too much wealth and offended several powerful figures. Leaving the city would be incredibly dangerous. However, no one dared to move against him within Evil City itself, as this was the God Slaying City Lord’s domain. The auction house was obligated to protect all of its guests, especially its most distinguished ones.

Still, he couldn’t see Ye Fan’s true face through the mask. A tycoon like him must have an extraordinary background. Shouldn’t he have several bodyguards at his side? He hadn’t detected any protectors, only that Ye Fan’s own strength was quite weak. He couldn’t figure it out. Had Ye Fan deliberately suppressed his power to play the part of a pig masquerading as a tiger, or was an absolute powerhouse protecting him from the shadows? Either way, one thing was certain: Ye Fan was undoubtedly a person of remarkable origins.

In reality, Ye Fan had no significant background, nor was anyone secretly protecting him. His strength truly was that low. However, he had already planned his escape route. If he dared to reveal his wealth so brazenly, he naturally had a plan to deal with the consequences.

"You don’t need to worry about me," Ye Fan said calmly.

"Very well, then." The gray-robed elder was now convinced Ye Fan must have a powerful expert protecting him. Otherwise, he would never be this composed.

Ye Fan quietly left the auction house, sensing he was being followed. He immediately quickened his pace and used the Demon Clan’s Illusion Technique, a legacy from the Seven-Colored Demon Empress, to create several phantoms of himself. Under the cover of darkness, four of his phantoms sped off in different directions.

"Kid, where do you think you’re going!" Ghost Foot Seven and Blood Storm bellowed as they joined forces, charging at one of the figures. But the moment they reached it, the phantom dissipated into thin air.

"Damn it!" Furious, the pair shot off in another direction.

The two of them chased down the other three phantoms as well. After nearly two hours had passed, Ye Fan finally emerged from his hiding spot. He had put himself into a state of suspended animation, erasing any trace of his aura. Otherwise, he would have been discovered long ago.

A cold sneer touched Ye Fan’s lips. "Trying to catch me? Impossible." He was certain that they would never imagine he had stayed in his original spot for a full two hours. With that, he departed via another route. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

However, just as he was leaving, he spotted a bridge up ahead. A Martial Artist sat fishing on it, his posture calm and steady, as if he had been expecting Ye Fan for a long time.

"I have been waiting for you," the man said.

"How did you know I would come this way?" Ye Fan asked, his guard up. The man was a Divine General Level expert. Even if he wasn’t a top-tier Divine General, any expert at that level was far beyond what Ye Fan could handle, even in his Demonization state.

The man replied in a cold voice, "The Divine Soul Flower. No matter how well you hide, I have locked onto its scent on you. You cannot fool me."

"So you’ve known where I was from the start?" Ye Fan asked.

"Exactly," the man said coldly. "The only reason I didn’t make a move was to avoid sharing the prize. With more people around, I’d have to split the spoils."

"What do you want from me?" Ye Fan asked.

"I want many things from you," the man threatened. "Hand them over, and I might let you live!"

He radiated immense Divine Soul Power, revealing himself to be a Divine Soul Warrior. The path of the Divine Soul Warrior had long since fallen into decline, so for someone to reach his level of cultivation, they had to be a God Soul King.

"I won’t give you anything!" Ye Fan stated flatly.

"Then die!" the God Soul King roared, lunging at Ye Fan with crushing pressure.

Ye Fan felt a wave of despair wash over him. Just as he was about to crush the Escape Talisman given to him by the Seven-Colored Demon Empress, another voice echoed through the air. "God Soul King, what an impressive display of arrogance!"

"Who are you?" the God Soul King demanded, shocked. He hadn’t sensed anyone approaching. The next moment, he spotted an old man with a young girl trailing behind him.

This girl was none other than Ye Fan’s rival, Mu Keqing. Back in the private room, she hadn’t recognized him at first, since he had used a disguised voice the entire time. However, she had still sensed his unique aura, which confirmed his identity.

"Yezi, have you already forgotten about this young lady?" Mu Keqing said with a pout.

Ye Fan chuckled. "Of course I remember!" He moved to stand beside Mu Keqing.

"Hmph! How dare you compete with me for my things! Just you wait, I’ll deal with you later!" Mu Keqing huffed.

But Ye Fan just grinned. "What are you talking about? I only bought it to make you happy. I was planning to give it to you as a gift."

"Excuses!" Mu Keqing didn’t believe his silver-tongued lies for a second. In truth, she had come out specifically to find him, never expecting she actually would. She was overjoyed. If this weren’t such a serious situation, she would have thrown herself into his arms right then and there.

Just then, Mu Keqing turned to the old man. "Grand Elder, he dared to try and steal Yezi’s things! Kill him!"

"As you wish!" the elder replied instantly. Though he looked ancient, his power was clearly far greater than the God Soul King’s.

The God Soul King’s voice turned cold. "So, it is Qi Liang, a subordinate of the Red Sand Main God."

The elder, Qi Liang, laughed. "It seems you’ve heard of this old man! What an honor. However, if you insist on making a move today, then I will have to play along!"

"Qi Liang, don’t you go too far!" the God Soul King snarled.

Qi Liang just laughed. "You’re trying to rob our Princess’s friend, and you say *I’m* the one going too far? Enough talk, God Soul King. Make your move!"

"You think I’m afraid of you?!" the God Soul King roared and lunged at Qi Liang.

"Come on, then!" Qi Liang shot forward to meet him.

The God Soul King unleashed an endless torrent of Divine Soul Power, condensing it into silent, deadly attacks that charged forward like a phantom army.

ROAR!

With a single, thunderous shout, Qi Liang obliterated the soul-condensed army, shattering it into dust.

The God Soul King stared in shock. His technique had been utterly destroyed.
