Chapter 1207: Chapter 1206: Advanced Medicine
"Moreover, let’s put it this way, as early as over a hundred years ago, our Li Country had already begun our plans, and now this situation is just the beginning." Li Pu spoke with an air full of confidence.
"Oh? What did you deploy a hundred years ago?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"How could I tell you that? But we already know you are not from this planet, so why don’t you come to our country? Why are you burying your talents in a place like Kai Ao Country?" Li Pu replied.
Jiang Cheng always thought he should go to Super Li Country, not to "take sides" but simply to visit such a technologically advanced place. However, he needed to handle matters here first.
"Let’s talk later, but sabotaging like you do is indeed unethical. I hope you can stop in time, or you’ll be the ones to suffer." Jiang Cheng had no mood to talk to Li Pu anymore and turned to leave.
After Jiang Cheng left, Li Cao spoke into the hidden mic on his collar, "Did you hear that, Mantasha?" He also left.
When Jiang Cheng returned to his place, he found people from the Hua Clan and the Yue Family arguing on stage,
"The Yue Family and Hua Clan are getting increasingly restless," Qi Feng said, looking at the people on stage.
"Yeah, with no real skills, they only know how to live off their family fortune every day. Their downfall is just a matter of time," Cloud replied.
Seeing this, Jiang Cheng suddenly remembered the story Qi Rongfeng told before, and also remembered Li Pu’s words, "Deployed over a hundred years ago." Jiang Cheng wondered if the current irreconcilable scene among the four families had anything to do with Li Country. Kai Ao Country has too many places that need reorganization nowadays. Jiang Cheng looked at the big boss sitting in front, who seemed quite troubled by the situation on stage. Alas, these issues and conflicts can’t be resolved in a day or two. The current boss is quite concerned about technology, too, and the pen he gave him indicates he is aware of Li Country matters, but perhaps he is truly powerless.
"The symposium is about to end," Cloud checked the time and said. "Yeah, this year all four families came, but besides you and Rongfeng, there’s really nothing else worth seeing," Zhao Shuai said.
After the symposium ended, many reporters surrounded Jiang Cheng wanting to interview him, and soon the staircase on the second floor was densely packed.
"The media is indeed terrifying, Lin, you can’t go back to the hotel, come to my place," Zhao Shuai said, noticing the reporters trying to rush forward.
"Sure, you live alone, right?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"Of course, if I live with my dad he’d always be watching over me."
"Alright then, let’s head to your place first," Jiang Cheng said helplessly, looking at the many reporters.
"I’ll head off now. Lin, if Zhao Shuai becomes too noisy, call me and come stay at my place," Qi Rongfeng said with a smile.
"Hey, get going, seriously, am I noisy?" Zhao Shuai glared at Qi Rongfeng.
"Okay, see you," Jiang Cheng said to Qi Rongfeng.
"But where did Cloud go?" Jiang Cheng recalled Cloud was here earlier but now was nowhere to be seen.
"Oh, her dad must have dragged her home," Zhao Shuai said, looking around seeing no sign of Cloud.
Driving his flashy sports car, Zhao Shuai took Jiang Cheng to his house. Contrary to Jiang Cheng’s imagination, Zhao Shuai’s house was not very luxurious. Although it was in the city center, it was just a simple duplex residential building, quite simply and warmly decorated inside. "How is it, Lin, isn’t my place nice?" Zhao Shuai handed Jiang Cheng a drink.
"Yes, it’s nice."
"Have a seat, feel at home."
The phone rang, and Zhao Shuai glanced at his phone,"My dad?" Jiang Cheng saw Zhao Shuai seemed unwilling to answer it, "Why not answer?"
"My dad is definitely asking me to go back home again, I don’t want to answer." Despite saying so, Zhao Shuai answered the call and turned on the speakerphone. "Hello? Dad, what’s up?"
"Where are you? I realized you’ve run off again; you promised to come home. Now where do you want to play? Haven’t you had enough fun yet?" came the angry voice of the boss from the other end.
"Oh, Dad, I’ve brought Lin home. As Lin’s friend, I should take good care of him in Imperial Capital here. Now that Lin is a public figure, he needs protection," Zhao Shuai said with a grin.
"I see, then shall I send a few people over to protect you two?" The boss quickly suggested upon hearing that Jiang Cheng was with Zhao Shuai.
"Oh, no need, my security measures are really good here. You don’t need to worry,"
"Alright then, you take good care of Lin, and if you two have time, come home for a meal together," the boss said.
"Okay, okay, don’t worry," said Zhao Shuai before hanging up.
"Looks like I’m covering for you," Jiang Cheng sipped his water, saying to Zhao Shuai.
Sitting next to Jiang Cheng, Zhao Shuai said, "Of course not, didn’t you hear my dad saying I should take good care of you?"
Jiang Cheng shook his head with a smile; he really had no solution for Zhao Shuai.
"By the way, Lin, what plans do you have for the next few days? Want me to take you out to have some fun?" Zhao Shuai put a hand on Jiang Cheng’s shoulder, raised an eyebrow, and said. "I’m planning to go visit Imperial Capital Science Academy,"
"Huh? Go there? What’s the point? I’m telling you, you don’t know, it’s full of old stubborn people there; when you go, they might not treat you well," Zhao Shuai pouted with disdain.
"I have official business there, need to borrow their laboratory," Jiang Cheng explained.
"What are you going to do?"
"Remember the Gelan Glue I photographed last time? I want to use it to create some advanced medicine," said Jiang Cheng.
"Wow, although I don’t know what kind of advanced medicine that is, hearing you say it sounds impressive," Zhao Shuai said with admiration.
"Alright, then let’s go," Jiang Cheng patted Zhao Shuai.
"Huh, go now? Let me first take you to eat something good," Zhao Shuai suggested.
After eating, Zhao Shuai and Jiang Cheng headed to the Imperial Capital Science Academy. As Zhao Shuai parked the car in front of a tall building, Jiang Cheng couldn’t help but be amazed. The building looked more like a commercial structure, with very grand and imposing décor. Being the start of the next year’s working day, many people were coming and going. "Do we need to inform the academy’s head personnel?" Jiang Cheng asked. "Uh, probably not, just take the pen my dad gave you and say you need to borrow a lab," Zhao Shuai replied after parking the car.
"Alright, let’s head in."
Upon entering the academy, Jiang Cheng saw the interior décor was also exquisite, suggesting the country had high hopes for this academy. Zhao Shuai led Jiang Cheng directly to the manager, who appeared as a tall and slim young man.
"Manager Li, we’d like to borrow a lab," Zhao Shuai said.
Zhao Shuai seemed to know Manager Li, Jiang Cheng thought.
Upon glancing at Jiang Cheng, Manager Li suddenly exclaimed, "You’re Jiang Cheng, aren’t you? Oh my, Scientist Lin! I saw you on TV; you are truly amazing. I never thought you’d be even younger in person. I really regret missing that symposium." Manager Li excitedly grabbed Jiang Cheng’s hand.
