Chapter 1205: Chapter 1204: A Stunning Performance

Cloud excitedly cried out, at this moment people’s anxious gazes finally shifted from Qi Rongfeng, and seeing this elderly gentleman approaching, everyone showed expressions of excitement. "Great, Mr. Zhao is here to instruct us," "Indeed, Mr. Zhao is the most formidable scientist in Kai Ao Country, bar none!" Everyone from Zhou Country whispered among themselves. Jiang Cheng observed the crowd’s expressions and thought perhaps this elderly gentleman could really unseal the virus. He himself had wanted to step forward earlier but was hesitant, after all, Kai Ao Country’s computer system wasn’t Earth’s, and the invasion method of the virus was merely his speculation. Rashly stepping up could only unsettle the crowd.

Mr. Zhao walked to the computer; Qi Rongfeng respectfully greeted the elderly gentleman and made way. When Mr. Zhao’s aged fingers touched the keyboard, Jiang Cheng realized this wasn’t the speed an old man should have; the gentleman’s swift, skillful operations made Jiang Cheng and those around him even more impressed. After fifteen minutes, Mr. Zhao slowly straightened his back, but his forehead was covered in sweat, and he wobbled slightly. Everyone rushed to assist him. Jiang Cheng took out his phone and discovered the virus was truly unsealed, feeling a surge of excitement. It seems Mr. Zhao’s reputation was indeed well-earned.

People from Zhou Country saw the big screen light up again, checked their phones, and indeed everything was good. "Mr. Zhao is indeed incredible!" Zhao Shuai exclaimed excitedly, "Yes, without him, today’s situation would be hopeless." Cloud breathed a sigh of relief, sitting down on a nearby chair.

Yet less than a minute later, before everyone had fully absorbed Mr. Zhao’s success, the big screen went black again. Jiang Cheng realized the virus had once more invaded, plunging the crowd into a massive panic. Many were utterly terrified, and some, faint of heart, began to cry. Many wanted to leave, but under the condition that the virus was not yet eradicated, letting people out could only spread it further, throwing the entire venue into a very tense atmosphere.

"Lin, perhaps you could try," Zhao Shuai looked solemnly at Jiang Cheng.

"Yes, Lin, it’s up to you now, you try it," Qi Rongfeng also said.

Jiang Cheng glanced at the anxious crowd around him, "Okay, I’ll give it a try." He then proceeded to the stage, pondering how to quickly eradicate the virus as he walked.

At this time, everyone noticed going on stage was an obscure young man, and they began to question and whisper among themselves, "Who is this?" "No idea, never seen him before." "Indeed, even Mr. Zhao couldn’t do it, can he?" "Who knows, maybe he’s just trying to seize the opportunity to show off." The crowd voiced various opinions, yet none affirming Jiang Cheng’s capability. Jiang Cheng observed the skeptical and even disdainful expressions of Zhou Country’s people but didn’t mind. Upon taking the stage, he noticed Mr. Zhao sitting to one side, leaning back in his chair with closed eyes but showing a nervous and pained expression -- seemingly the tense operation earlier was too much for his body. Upon seeing Jiang Cheng step forward, Mr. Zhao first examined him briefly, and then nodded to him.

Jiang Cheng found the computer system chaotically disorganized, and all data was locked down. Quickly scanning, he discovered this virus wasn’t simply conducting basic scans on some interface ports but was systematically attacking the server in multiple aspects. He searched his mind for a solution and found the method could only temporarily unseal the virus, just as Mr. Zhao had done before. After unsealing, the virus would reinfect within a minute. At some point, Mr. Zhao also came beside Jiang Cheng, thinking this young man was extraordinary -- Jiang Cheng used only one minute to discern what had taken him fifteen. Mr. Zhao’s eyes gleamed with hope.

Jiang Cheng was still tense, working to unseal the virus, and he roughly identified three layers to this virus. All layers were tightly interconnected, and if they were unsealed incorrectly, all previous efforts would be futile. Additionally, the different invasion methods of each layer made the process even more vexing. Nervously yet rapidly, Jiang Cheng worked to unseal each layer of the virus.

To Zhao Shuai and the others, Jiang Cheng seemed calm and assured as he unsealed the virus with not a hint of panic. "Rongfeng, I think Lin can do it."

"What do you think?"

Qi Rongfeng, seeing Mr. Zhao beside Jiang Cheng, also showed increasingly excited expressions. "Yes, I think so too."

As time ticked by, three minutes passed; Mr. Zhao suddenly laughed with excitement, "This is great, hahahaha." The people below exchanged bewildered glances, uncertain what had transpired; Jiang Cheng didn’t hear Mr. Zhao’s excited laugh, for he was deeply focused on unsealing the final virus layer, fully immersed in his operation.

"Looks like it’ll soon be done," Qi Rongfeng said happily. At some point, even the boss came down from the second floor. Seeing the boss, people fell silent, ceasing their chatter, and the entire venue became still except for the sound of Jiang Cheng typing at the keyboard. Everyone concentrated intently on Jiang Cheng, afraid to miss any expression on his face.

After a full five minutes, the big screen suddenly lit up, and Jiang Cheng straightened up to look at the people below. The exceptionally quiet venue struck Jiang Cheng as strange. After another minute, someone finally spoke, remarking that it was indeed resolved. Suddenly, the venue erupted with deafening cheers, everyone showing joyful and excited expressions. People had feared Jiang Cheng would encounter the same situation as Mr. Zhao, with the virus reinfecting a minute later, leading to a false joy.

"Indeed, there’s always young talents emerging, it’s impressive, truly impressive," Mr. Zhao said excitedly, patting Jiang Cheng’s shoulder. "I’ve studied this for so many years yet could only unseal the first virus layer. You’re incredible!"

Mr. Zhao said emotionally.

"You’re also outstanding," Jiang Cheng replied to Mr. Zhao.

"What’s your name? I don’t think I’ve seen you before." Mr. Zhao furrowed his brows, as if trying to recall something.

"I’m Jiang Cheng, I’ve been conducting research in the desert all this time, so you haven’t seen me before." Jiang Cheng seriously responded to Mr. Zhao’s question, maintaining great respect for Mr. Zhao in his heart.

"Ah, no wonder, ah. Nowadays, it’s rare to find young people like you who aren’t distracted by fame and fortune, fully devoted to science." Mr. Zhao sighed deeply, speaking earnestly.

At this point, Zhao Shuai became a bit apprehensive, as he had indeed deceived Mr. Zhao, but merely smiled without saying anything further.

The venue was now in uproar, photographers eagerly raised their cameras, pushing their way to Jiang Cheng’s side to photograph the young scientist who suddenly made his mark. They seemed to have forgotten how they had mocked this young man earlier.

Jiang Cheng didn’t appreciate the glare from the cameras, so he stepped off the stage and walked over to join Zhao Shuai and the others. The boss beside Zhao Shuai was equally pleased, shaking Jiang Cheng’s hand, "I’ve heard Zhao Shuai praising you, but now seeing it firsthand, it’s truly eye-opening. You’re truly a genius, hahahaha." The boss said happily, at this moment, several journalists pressed forward to persistently photograph Jiang Cheng and the boss.
