Chapter 1785: Fifth Divine Rule
This kind of divine rule changes completely.
The meaning of infinite in this rule was literal. There were infinite possibilities in time, but that was because the space was also infinite.
The space continued to expand, so it continued to give birth to new possibilities. However, Nathan’s aim was something else.
This one divine rule was the key to defeating Yog-Sothoth. The infinite here was actually a key to access that realm, which had been reflected in his space domain.
Yes, it was the key to the fifth dimension. It was said that in the fifth dimension, one could access infinite possibilities.
If Ananta Shesha could peek at the infinite possibilities by using his ability, Nathan wanted to go a step further.
He wanted to combine the space element, which could alter space in those infinite possibilities, into a single entity.
He had seen this concept back on Earth.
He believed the fifth dimension was the key to defeating Yog-Sothoth. Whether it was possible or not, he could only continue working hard and find his way to Yog-Sothoth to fight him first.
However, creating the last divine rule was harder than expected. The first four divine rules were related to him. It affected him directly, so it wasn’t hard for them to be created.
The last rule was different. It surpassed the limit that was supposed to be set in this reality. That was why Nathan felt the resistance to create this divine rule.
While the others were progressing quickly, Nathan was still struggling to create this one crucial rule.
"Haa..." Nathan took a deep breath. "This is truly hard. I can’t really do anything about this. Am I going to be restrained by this reality?"
"You know what you’re trying to do is something that even I don’t know whether it’s possible or not, right?" Xolotl asked.
"You are greedy, Summoner." Ananta shook his head. "Peeking into the infinite possibilities is hard enough, not to mention altering it. However, what you want is to gain full access to those infinite possibilities.
"I know I’m being greedy, but you know that my first big opponent will be the being that governs space and time. If I’m coming with a normal method, I will fail." Nathan shook his head. "If I can’t do it here, there is no point in even leaving this world."
Garuda narrowed his eyes. "I guess you will need more time, but your body is still a mortal body, so time is still affecting your growth. You need to forge your divine body before you don’t have to worry about your aging body."
"I don’t think that’s the problem." Xolotl shook his head helplessly.
Tiamat suddenly noticed something. "There might be a method for you to reach that step."
"!!!" Xolotl and the others were surprised. They couldn’t think of a way to reach that step after all.
Nathan’s expression turned serious. "A method? What is that method?"
"Using the most mysterious power in this world."
"Ah!" Nathan didn’t expect that answer. But when he thought about it, this method might be able to bring him to that level.
"Using karma to form the divine rule?"
"If it’s any other people, it might not work or be straight-up impossible. But with the amount of karma in your body..."
Xolotl and the others couldn’t deny this possibility.
Nathan looked down, falling into deep thought.
"Normally, you use karma to etch that divine rule into your body, making it a part of your existence. However, what if we use karma as the foundation of the divine rule itself?" Tiamat asked.
"Is it even possible?" Xolotl tilted his head in confusion. "We can’t wield karma that freely even as a true god."
"I don’t know." Tiamat shook his head. "However, this is the only method I can think of."
"There is a way to do it." Once Nathan heard the method, his mind immediately found a way to actually achieve it. Nathan raised one finger. "We’ll use the Soul Contract."
"That’s..." His familiars looked at each other. For some reason, they thought this plan might succeed.
Nathan’s Soul Contract was mysterious because it could facilitate the transfer of karma.
That also meant that the Soul Contract itself could become the container of Nathan’s karma.
How much karma did Nathan need to achieve such a feat? No one knew.
But if they were asked whether the method would work, they believed it would work.
"What I’m doing is not related to the higher dimension. I just want to create a container for my karma. This Soul Contract will be linked with my soul... my existence." Nathan explained. "In other words, the Soul Contract itself is a bait to form that divine rule. Once it’s formed, there is no need to keep it there. It will fuse with my existence and turn into the real fifth divine rule."
"That sounds doable." Xolotl agreed.
"At this rate, I’m afraid that your Soul Contract will evolve and gain the ability to make a contract with the cosmos, the universe, reality, or even a higher dimension." Garuda chuckled.
"That might be possible." Tiamat agreed.
Ananta was the only one who was a bit speechless. He looked at them before complaining, "Wait a minute. You guys don’t think he will succeed, right? It’s true that there are valid theories, but this sounds like bullshit.
"I can agree that they’re reasonable, but it’s still at the level of reasonable bullshit. Are you thinking that this is possible?"
Garuda sighed and looked at his friend. "Listen to me. It’s good that it’s bullshit. It means this is going to work."
"What?" Ananta had just heard something unbelievable.
"Our Master is someone who can turn bullshit into reality. That’s how it’s usually done. Create some bullshit, form the logic, connect the dots, and turn it into reality." Garuda smiled.
Ananta was speechless. This was the first time he had heard of such a process. It was so absurd that Ananta couldn’t help but say it to his friend. "Are you insane?"
