Chapter 1783: Humanity is...
Xolotl just sighed. The Asura Palace remained standing. They defeated all the aliens coming into their city.
The reason this city remained intact showed the fact that no aliens remained standing when this city fell. All the sieges resulted in victory.
That was why it was a shame that the Asura Palace fell like this.
After looking at the situation, Nathan realized something.
"Most likely, their plan to create fortresses was sabotaged. They might originally prepare supplies and materials to create fortresses, but not from themselves. They also asked other kingdoms.
"As a result, those fortresses failed. Only one fortress could be built.
"The fact that the Asura Palace could remain standing was proof that this territory was alright. Or that was probably what the people in the past thought. That was why they sabotaged the Asura Palace to weaken Asura.
"The fortress plan didn’t work out, causing aliens to flood into the territory. Looking at how deep this city was in the current alien’s territory, this city was practically the only one standing while being surrounded by aliens.
"That was why the historian cursed the other kingdoms. The other reason was the soldiers.
"When they tried to investigate the first portal in this world, the strong army consisting of a hundred thousand men was wiped out by Yog-Sothoth.
"If that strong army hadn’t been wiped out, the Asura Palace would have had more than enough numbers to break through or provide protection. This way, they could probably create a working supply line or do other things.
"Unfortunately, they died because of Yog-Sothoth. With those two reasons, the Asura Palace here was completely isolated. They didn’t have any supply lines, so the food was running out.
"Even though their warriors were still more than capable of defeating their enemies, they simply didn’t have the energy to continue.
"Asura was seen in that one fortress they managed to build. But he probably wanted to find a way to create a supply line by using the only fortress that remained.
"Unfortunately, the fortress was never meant to stand alone. There were supposed to be more fortresses to split the alien army.
"Because the fortress had to endure the relentless attack alone, even with Asura going there, it couldn’t stop them from falling."
All this time, Asura fought like a hero. It was no wonder that the people in that fortress prepared to die for his sake.
He stood like a sturdy rock, knowing that if they lost all hope, Asura would still be in front of them. All they had to do was follow him.
In the end, the fortress fell, but Asura didn’t die there. He returned to this place and continued fighting, only to find himself being surrounded.
They probably sent some soldiers, but the number wasn’t enough to create a supply line.
In the end, Asura cursed the people in the north. They were waiting for him to die. Rather than bringing his people to safety, he decided to stay here. Of course, his people would follow him.
If Asura wanted, he could probably get accepted as long as he bowed his head to those kingdoms. But knowing his reputation, they would probably execute him so that his people wouldn’t have another leader to create a rebellion.
The kingdoms knew they couldn’t control Asura. That was why they wanted him dead. If not, they would have sent reinforcements to Asura, even when Asura told them that he was willing to use his own territory as the main battlefield so that their kingdoms didn’t have to be filled with blood.
Ultimately, he didn’t win anything. Knowing that he would be tarnished if he died, Asura chose to stay.
He had only two options at that time. Begged the kingdoms to accept him and the refugees and ended up receiving the most humiliating death with his body being desecrated or died from hunger.
Those two options had the same result. He definitely wouldn’t die as a warrior.
Hence, Asura chose the second option. It was dishonorable as a warrior, but at least it was better than the first option.
Nathan muttered, "With Asura dying, the continent fell into chaos. They were pushed back hard by the aliens. They probably realized that Asura was right all along.
"If they had helped Asura back then, they wouldn’t have suffered such a humiliating defeat.
"It was at that time that summoners became a thing. They weren’t saved by their own efforts. They were saved because the aliens deemed them still useful.
"In the end, they managed to stabilize the continent and push the aliens back. Sadly, the fact that humanity is a piece of shit didn’t change.
"When they did great, they fought among themselves, allowing the aliens to push them back."
Mae fell silent for a moment before saying, "Master, the portals..."
"Yeah. At this point, it’s not hard to guess the situation. Just looking at these aliens, it was clear that the aliens that came to this world gradually increased in strength.
"The portals might have absorbed the energy from their respective worlds or stars to create an even more stable portal so that stronger aliens could enter.
"In other words, this was a prolonged battle. In this era, alpha class aliens could enter easily. In one or two hundred years, apex class aliens might fill this world.
"It is indeed a prolonged battle where humanity was doomed from the beginning. The aliens knew the sad truth about humanity, so they didn’t have to do anything and just let everything build up, knowing that it was more than enough to defeat the people in this world."
Nathan shook his head helplessly. The situation was so ridiculous and pathetic, but in a way, he could understand why the aliens fought this way.
Nathan continued, "If I don’t leave behind a single thing for the predecessors, they will die once apex class aliens start to appear, especially if they don’t continue to improve. In the end, bringing all continents together and absorbing their knowledge is the correct choice.
"But I don’t know what will happen in the future, knowing the sad truth about humanity.
"Ultimately, I can only say... humanity is a fucking piece of shit."
