Chapter 1776: Summoning a New Familiar

They continued the search for two weeks. Unfortunately, that was the last time Crotto could find the portal. They had checked nine other spots, but none of them contained a portal.

Of course, they hadn’t checked the place marked by Nathan.

Once they got back, Nathan asked, "I need Selena, Luna, Alavenya, Sera, and Iris to go with Crotto to check the spots we have marked. Evelyn will be the guide by using the teleportation circles. The rest should stay here."

They didn’t have any objections. After all, there was another task in this place.

"We need to handle the corpses and the cores. Can I ask you guys to handle it? I will handle the evolution with Gregory."

"Sure." They agreed without hesitation.

"By the way, Flora. Ask the shadow guards about their investigation."

"Got it."

Once Nathan had given them their respective tasks, he proceeded to Gregory, determining how many familiars could evolve. He knew that many familiars wouldn’t be able to evolve with just one alpha class alien. So, he had to be careful with the use of their corpses.

At the same time, he was also prepared for one more thing. He wanted to summon a new familiar.

That was why he teleported outside the city and summoned all his divine beasts.

"It’s that time again." Nathan smiled.

"So, we’re going to have a new comrade?" Fenrir scoffed.

"Who will be our new comrade?" Anubis asked. "After seeing the asteroid, I think Apep is a good choice. We have Jinwu here, so I guess Apep will be more interested in Jinwu because of Ra."

"You want me to be the bait? Your Ra is a true god. I’m not at that level yet. Besides, isn’t that serpent so tough that a few of the most powerful gods in your world have a hard time fighting him? He’s also immortal... can be defeated but will return the next night."

"That kind of evil being will be quite hard to deal with." Nidhogg nodded. "However, we are strong as well. It’s just... it’s better to wait for us to become true gods before summoning that guy. He’s strong, but we need the strength to control him."

Mae asked, "If that’s the case, we can’t summon someone like Quetzalcoatl. He was already dead in that battle and his information wasn’t absorbed into this world, right?"

Garuda nodded. "True."

"Judging from the situation, we’re going to summon a serpent. In that case, how about Fenrir’s brother, Jormugandr?" Peng suggested.

"I heard the guy is tough and his size is big, but other than that, there’s no quality that stands out. A powerful body is good, but we have Kun for the time being. We need a being with special abilities." Qilin shook his head.

"Why serpent? Do you want more snakes? You can count on me." Orochi looked at them.

"I don’t really care who you summon. Make sure that you summon a true god. We need fighting power, especially since the date of leaving this world is approaching." Xolotl squinted his eyes.

"If you are out of options, summoning my husband is always an option." Tiamat scoffed.

Nathan smiled at them. "Well, thanks for the suggestion. But after so long, I have decided on the divine beast I’d like to summon."

"Who?" Fenrir squinted.

Nathan hadn’t revealed it yet. Instead, he began drawing the summoning circle. "Thanks to the cores we’ve got, I can finally feel assured to summon this familiar at fifty million ena."

"Fifty million? For a new guy?" Some looked like they didn’t agree with the decision.

"Don’t worry. I know that your plan to become a true god has been postponed. However, all of you have twenty-five million ena already. However, I don’t intend to neglect you. I will continue with the progress to get you as close as possible to evolution.

"Of course, all the ena we’ll receive after this will be allocated to you guys. My goal is to have all of you possess fifty million ena before leaving this world." Nathan explained his plan.

After knowing the truth, they didn’t argue further. It looked like Nathan had truly thought of everything.

"So, who are you going to summon?" Fenrir asked again.

Nathan waved his hand and started taking out multiple items. "You will see. He is not evil. In fact, one of you is pretty close to this guy."

"One of us?" They looked at each other. Who was Nathan talking about?

This time, Nathan actually put multiple snakes in the summoning circle.

The first one to recognize it was Garuda.

"Ah!" Garuda knew one serpent that could fit all the criteria. "Master, are you going to summon him?"

"Who?" They looked at Garuda, curious about this new person who would become Nathan’s twelfth familiar.

Nathan intended to have fifteen familiars, each at the level of a true god, before fighting against the black cell. So, for the last four members, he had to choose carefully.

These fifteen beasts were necessary because he believed that defeating Yog-Sothoth or even Azathoth required him to gang them up.

After all, the Outer Gods were still one level above them.

Nathan smiled. "You got it right. Don’t you think he’s perfect for me?"

"Well, he’s also using the power of time. I guess he’s suitable for you. Besides, I know him. He’s a righteous beast, so I think he will help you. It’s just... you need to make sure to prove yourself if you want his acknowledgement."

"I will do my best." Nathan nodded. "Let’s begin, shall we?"

Nathan didn’t want any longer. He was already quite curious, considering this beast was one of the strongest that he knew.

Nathan closed his eyes while raising his hand. "O Miracle of the World, Divine Being of Summoning, please use my body as the beacon and grant the beloved being your passage. By my name, Nathan Reckmoon, heed my call and come forth to this world, the great being of another world."

The amount of energy flowing into the circle was immense. The energy used the sacrificial items to form a serpent figure.

There was only one serpent that Garuda knew and also wielded the time element. And that serpent’s name is...
