Chapter 204: Trigger Happy
"Can’t I?" Torq made a puppy face.
"It leaves a bad taste in my mouth." Brangara uttered.
’Speaking from experience, are we?’ He almost blurted it out, thanking every strand of calm-seated gene existing in his body that prevented him from saying it out loud. After all, it would become the best case of fuck around and find out.
Even though the man near him seemed casual, even chill at that, there were some things that must never be mentioned before him. That would bring about another face of him, one Torq shuddered about every time he witnessed such scenes in the book.
"Isn’t Nusantara our enemy?" Unwilling to remain silent for long, Torq quickly asked a question. And in the time Brangara took to answer, he quickly wracked his mind to come up with a sequence of conversational points.
"They are," Brangara nodded, "Still, it will be nice if you can respect your opponents."
"Ancestor..." Torq made a disgusted face, "You’re too strong, so you can say that. But someone as weak as me cannot afford to be a gentleman in war."
Ahem!
Brangara coughed awkwardly, having never expected to hear such a response from the other party. And then, he raised up a finger and said, "Once...once is enough."
"Be courteous for once," He groaned, not even meeting Torq in the eye, as if unwilling to display the extent of facial muscles twitching across his visage, "After that, you can hit under the belt."
"Okay!" Torq promptly slammed his forehead into the ground and addressed the Parute Tree that had grown before him once again, "I am Garabuntara, hailing from Sumatra Continent’s ever glorious Wean Clan."
He then jumped once and tapped the end of the Parute Tree’s branch, as if greeting the other party, "Hello!"
The Parute Tree had wilted once again. Of course, since the wilted portion didn’t get vaporised, another Parute Tree promptly grew in its place.
"I did well, right?" Torq beamed a smile at Brangara, "I made a proper greeting this time, Ancestor."
"Were everyone like you back in those days?" Brangara asked once Torq had vaporised the Parute Tree the third time. His tone was serious, and he had erected an invisible barrier around them that blocked out all means of perceiving what was happening within.
’The fact that he had done this means he currently intends to speak not to Garabuntara, but Torq.’ Knowing very well what the other party wanted, Torq shook his head, "From what I know, they were all pretty serious, all the time."
"From what I know?" Brangara raised an eyebrow, "Didn’t you live through that era?"
"Umm..." For a moment, Torq thought about whether or not to reveal his situation. A mere two seconds later, he decided it was better to be open about it, since the situation had progressed to the current extent.
Of course, it was majorly because Brangara wouldn’t let go of him if he didn’t give a satisfactory answer. Even with all his power, there was absolutely zero chance he could break through the flimsy barrier erected by Brangara, ’Even the Royal Zinger would struggle to break free in this situation, much less me.’
"This is my second regression." Torq began speaking, "However, in the previous timeline, I was alive only for a few days before the situation forced me to regress."
"It’s all because the furball slacked off too much." He commented.
"Furball?" Brangara slowly turned his head and asked, "Are you not Torq?"
"I am, at the moment." Torq nodded, "However, I’m from Earth."
"I’ve read the book, which shows you’re aware of that place."
"Earth..." Brangara, ’Like the Mystic Seven...!’
For a moment, a trace of pity flashed through his eyes as he stared at Torq, ’It seems Inala already took action.’
’A forerunner of the past has become a mere pawn of the present.’ He retracted the erected barrier, and waved his hand, signalling that their secretive conversation was done. And then, upon seeing the fifth Parute Tree appear, he asked, "How long do you intend to play around?"
"I have an hour’s worth of time to waste." Torq chuckled as he vaporised the Parute Tree the fourth time.
"Have fun then," Brangara muttered and disappeared, leaving behind Torq to harass the Parute Tree.
’I didn’t gain anything from that conversation.’ Torq frowned while in thought, ’I wonder what the Ancestor plans to do next.’
’He’ll have to face the Celestial Rotocok at one point in time. And that’s when he dies.’ He surmised. After all, against anyone else, the Celestial Boar would emerge victorious.
That wasn’t all. By consuming the other party, the Celestial Boar will get their accumulation, which would further boost Brangara’s strength.
Primary Nature–Voracious Cultivator!
An absolutely ridiculous Nature of the Celestial Boar, which allowed it to create a Tangible Nature of any creature it consumes, and then, cultivate it to the 10-Life Stage.
It doesn’t matter even if the target is a Pranic Beast, which is incapable of entering the Life Stage. The Nature of Voracious Cultivator has the power to give it Life Stage cultivation.
This was merely one of the scariest aspects of the Celestial Boar. Just one of the many, too many aspects of this predator.
’I want to see him fight!’ Torq thought, yearning to witness a battle between Brangara and a Mystic Grade Pranic Beast of Nusantara Continent.
That was why he was constantly messing around, because every time he vaporised the Parute Tree, the patch of grey sand grew bigger before another Parute Tree regrew in its place.
He planned to keep on continuing it until Nusantara Continent is forced to reveal another of its cards. Reaching that point was easy.
As the patch of grey sand grew larger, now occupying an area of 40 square metres, a pillar of night properly appeared, stretching from the surface infinitely into the sky. That portion of Nusantara Continent has now been reclaimed by the Sandy-Grey Void.
Immediately in response, two Parute Trees appeared, rapidly focusing on reverting the Sandy-Grey Void into regular terrain, only to be stopped once again.
Leaping back a few times, Torq watched the grey sand patch begin growing at an exponential pace, observing the number of Parute Trees rapidly grow in number to keep pace.
Ahem!
Inhaling a deep breath, Torq bellowed, "My guys!"
"There’s a free meal here!" Immediately in response, a group of Wean Clansmen appeared nearby, having used Shredded Lunge.
As for the wind blades generated at the end of their lunge, this group had already come prepared, as the wind blades smoothly moved to harvest the Parute Fruits.
"This is my treat, for successfully having set foot on Nusantara!" Torq roared and grinned upon seeing more Wean Clansmen come to harvest the Parute Fruits.
