Chapter 1546: Chapter 1546: Have You Found Princess Willow Crawford?
Morgan Ashworth found out the news half a month later. He came to Ethan Barnes’ residence, hearing that Ethan was seriously injured and had been recuperating for half a month.
In the master bedroom, the doctor and nurse had just left. Morgan walked in, immediately catching a whiff of the strong odor of disinfectant. He looked at the pale-faced man on the bed, "Is the injury serious?"
Ethan looked extremely haggard, his once handsome face now covered with stubble, unshaven for a long time, giving him a desolate look. His upper body was bare, a white bandage wrapped around his waist. It was apparent that the doctors and nurses had just changed his dressing. The wound was too deep and hadn’t healed.
Ethan reached out for a robe and indifferently replied, "It’s okay, not fatal."
Morgan sneered, "They all say King Hayden is brave, going into the lion’s den alone and coming back alive. Turns out that’s true."
Ethan glanced at Morgan, "Seems like you were hoping for my death."
The two men chuckled.
After a moment of silence, Ethan spoke, "Has your sister... contacted you?"
He was asking about Celeste Linden, who left without looking back that day. It’s been half a month.
During this half month, he hadn’t mentioned her name to anyone nor sent anyone to inquire about her. Following the agreement, he had truly let her go.
But in front of Morgan, he couldn’t hold back and asked. Morgan is Celeste’s brother, and since she’s out there alone, pregnant, she should have contacted her brother.
Morgan shrugged, "You’re overthinking it. If my sister wanted to contact me, she would have done so by now. Don’t you understand my sister’s character? She doesn’t like to trouble others and wouldn’t want to involve me in her matters."
Oh, she hasn’t contacted him, huh.
Indeed, that’s just her nature—seemingly fragile, yet stronger than anyone. She left on her own, certainly making sure she lives very well.
Ethan moved to the side of the bed, gazing at the distant scenery, without saying a word.
"Honestly, considering your personality, I’m surprised you actually let my sister go," Morgan said.
"I didn’t want to let her go, but she was determined to leave. There’s no way to keep her. Sometimes I regret it—I regret things I’ve done in the past. I often think if only, if only we had a beautiful beginning."
Morgan said nothing because they both knew there’s no "if" in the world. Celeste had left, resolutely.
At this point, a "knock-knock" sounded at the door. Carlotta came in with a bowl of herbal medicine, "Ethan brother, it’s time for your medicine."
After this incident, Carlotta had become much more obedient and changed a lot, turning into a gentle and virtuous person.
Ethan nodded, "Just leave it there, I’ll drink it later."
"Okay." Carlotta said obediently and left.
Morgan reached out and patted Ethan’s shoulder, "Forget my sister, and live your life well."
Ethan smiled faintly and changed the topic, "How about you, have you found Princess Willow Crawford?"
Willow Crawford had been missing for several months. During this time, Morgan had been searching for her but to no avail.
The Crawford family handles things very meticulously, making it not easy for him to find her.
"I remember Princess Willow was four or five months pregnant before she disappeared. Now another three months have passed, she might be about to give birth," Ethan calculated the time.
Morgan knew that too. He had been counting the days—Willow was now nine months pregnant.
