Chapter 1515: Chapter 1515: Jealous Rivalry
"Why?" Ethan Barnes asked.
Celeste Linden looked down and said, "What if Carlotta finds out, what should we do then?"
"She won’t find out. I will take care of everything."
"You always say that she won’t find out, but you never talk about what to do if she does, how you would handle things between Carlotta and me."
Ethan quickly pressed his thin lips together. Between her and Carlotta, he also didn’t know how to choose.
He owed Carlotta so much. If he didn’t want Carlotta, she might actually die.
If anything happened to Carlotta, he would never be at peace, because his life was originally given by Carlotta.
Celeste Linden looked up at him, "I know in your heart, I can’t compare to Carlotta. If Carlotta discovers us, you’ll definitely make me and the child disappear. I don’t want to die, so you should leave."
Celeste Linden took the opportunity to forcefully push him away and walked forward.
"Celeste, I..." Ethan grabbed her shoulder from behind, wanting to explain.
Celeste didn’t want to hear this at all; her mind was filled with thoughts of how to implement her own plan. Of course, she had already started it, and she knew what to do.
She didn’t turn around but hesitated a few times, "You should go, anyway, I know that the weight of me and the child combined doesn’t compare to your Carlotta. Until things are properly arranged, don’t drag me and the child into danger."
Celeste seemed to be refusing, yet she was trying to control the situation. Actually, she despised this part of herself.
But to escape from here, she had to do this.
Sure enough, Ethan was stirred by her teasing rejection, and coupled with her deliberate lowering of stance, as if she was competing with Carlotta, it pleased him greatly.
"Alright, I won’t touch you. I’ll leave now." Ethan took the chance to give her a strong kiss on the cheek before leaving.
Ethan quickly left the villa, unaware that Carlotta was standing upstairs, having just witnessed him enter and exit Celeste Linden’s room.
Carlotta’s hands, hanging at her sides, clenched into fists. Last night she had been so forward, yet he didn’t touch her even once; earlier in the restaurant he had been impatient with her, but as soon as he turned around, he couldn’t wait to enter Celeste Linden’s room.
As a woman, Carlotta already knew that Ethan had fallen for Celeste Linden.
The child in Celeste Linden’s belly, he wanted it too.
Both the mother and the child, he wanted them.
Carlotta recalled his deep confessions of love to her, saying he only loved her and would always love her.
He also said he only wanted her to have his child, and wouldn’t want children from other women, so he had undergone a vasectomy.
The vows of everlasting love were still echoing in her ears, but in his arms was another woman, one who had even entered his heart.
Separated for so many years, he ultimately fell for someone else.
Then what should she do?
Should she sit and wait for defeat?
At this moment, Celeste Linden opened the door and came out, "Carlotta, why are you standing here, are you looking for me?"
Carlotta immediately showed a smile, "Yes, I’m bored here alone. Cousin, let’s go out for a walk."
"Okay." Celeste Linden walked to the staircase, wanting to go downstairs.
Carlotta came up behind Celeste Linden, looked at the high stairs, then quietly extended her hand, intending to push Celeste Linden down from there.
In this way, the child in Celeste Linden’s belly would be gone, maybe she’d even be seriously injured, and then Ethan would belong only to her.
She just needed Celeste Linden and this child to disappear.
Carlotta’s hand was about to touch Celeste Linden’s back, but she suddenly withdrew it; all the jealousy from before was pulled back to reality, making her break out in a cold sweat. She didn’t understand what she was doing.
Her hands had never been stained with blood, not even having killed a small animal, this was murder, a crime!
How could she do this?
Carlotta froze in place, feeling monstrous, as if a demon lived inside her, one she didn’t recognize.
Just then Celeste Linden slowly turned around on the stairs, "Carlotta, what’s wrong, didn’t you say you wanted to go for a walk? Why are you stuck here?"
Carlotta quickly forced a smile, "Oh, it’s fine, let’s go together."
With a heavy heart, Carlotta descended the stairs.
Celeste Linden watched Carlotta’s figure, pondering. It seemed Carlotta wasn’t bad, she was inherently kind, and of course, she loved Ethan deeply.
Celeste Linden felt a bit of guilt towards Carlotta. Sorry, she had to use her, but her leaving would benefit her the most.
She would bring Carlotta and Ethan together.
...
Ethan left and got into his car, recalling the quick kiss he stole earlier, which made him smile.
Now he felt restless, wishing he could immediately take Celeste Linden to a place where it would just be the two of them, no, the three of them.
Ethan looked at his loyal confidant in front of him and directly said, "There’s something I need you to do tonight."
"Master, please instruct."
In the evening, Celeste Linden and Carlotta were having dinner together when a servant reported, "Miss Carlotta, the master called to say he’s very busy today and won’t be back to rest tonight. He asked both you and Miss Linden to retire early."
Ethan isn’t coming back tonight?
Carlotta pouted as she complained to Celeste Linden, "Ethan isn’t coming back tonight, without him I fear I’ll have nightmares again. Cousin, you won’t laugh at me, will you? Am I particularly clingy?"
Celeste understood that Carlotta was speaking for her to hear; she smiled, "Of course not, I can see you two have a great relationship."
"Yes, Ethan loves me very much, and his stamina is good. Every day I wake up with a sore back, I don’t know how Ethan managed all those years as a bachelor." Carlotta began to speak some suggestive words.
Celeste smiled it off, hoping Ethan would stay in her own bed without getting up, so as not to harm anyone.
However, Carlotta didn’t have that ability.
"Carlotta, then let’s rest early."
"Okay."
Both went back to their rooms to rest, Celeste lying in bed unable to sleep. Normally Ethan would surely find a flawless excuse to take her out, yet he was silent.
This made her suddenly unsure of what steps to take next.
She closed her eyes and suddenly sensed something unusual—someone was standing by her bed.
Who?
Celeste quickly opened her eyes; sure enough, a figure in black stood silently, like a ghost.
"Who are you?" Celeste sat up and was about to scream for help.
But the figure covered her mouth, and she immediately went black.
