Richard didn’t expect Ethan to appear on the battlefield all of a sudden.
From what he expected from Eleanor, she wouldn’t bring out her strongest soldier until the demon general appeared.
However, he was wrong.
"Step back, Bellarine," Richard spoke as he levitated and stood beside his mother.
Bellarine, despite being seemingly unwounded, was still quite exhausted because of the exchange. Rose might not be a seasoned warrior, but her unfairly huge reserve of ether and the ability to weave spells make her one of the strongest foes Bellarine has ever come across.

That’s why, hearing her son’s words, she didn’t resist and with a nod, she walked back—reuniting with other forces.
Richard had his eyes affixed on the silver-haired boy who once held innocence and purity in his eyes.
However, all Richard could gaze at at the moment was indifference and disconnection.
He didn’t seem the same person as before...nowhere, near it.
His presence was suffocating even when they were standing in the open. Around his body, a thick blanket of ether was wrapped.
Richard had his hands held behind his back as he uttered, "I am assuming you are here to end the war." After all, the being capable of sealing Zulcriz must have arrived to bring an end to the war.
However, Ethan’s intentions were different, "Came to save my comrade...that spell would have consumed her..." His tone was devoid of any emotion, however, he showed great concern for Rose—Richard noted.
Richard narrowed his eyes...were those spells really that capable? If anything, he felt Rose had the upper hand; that’s why Richard was prepared to pull Bellarine away if things went south.
And someone whose body is filled with Ether instead of blood must have felt it too...then, does that mean, Ethan came to save Bellarine?
Considering the boy’s personality, it wouldn’t be too shocking.
"Ethan." A voice, neither too silent nor too loud, echoed before Ethan lowered his guard and jumped into the air—his trajectory taking him back toward the fortress.
Richard heaved a sigh, as he saw enemy forces attacking once again, and this time the one leading them was a familiar face.
"Kid...you still alive, eh?" It was the same demi-god...the Demi-God whom Richard defeated previously.
Richard raised his left hand, his forces preparing to attack before he voiced,
"Charge!"
The battlefield erupted once more.
Richard’s forces surged forward like a crimson tide, their battle cries cutting through the chaos. The enemy met them head-on, their golden armor gleaming under the bloodied sky. Spells flared, steel clashed, and bodies fell.
A knight in shining silver drove his spear through one of Richard’s warriors, only to be engulfed in flames the next moment—burnt alive by a mage’s searing incantation.
A swordsman from the Dark side carved through three opponents in a single breath, but an arrow from the fortress struck his throat before he could celebrate.
Above them, mages rained destruction. Bolts of lightning cracked the sky, turning men into smoldering corpses. Ice shards the size of spears impaled warriors, freezing the life from their eyes. Richard’s spellcasters fought back fiercely, casting barriers and retaliating with torrents of fire and ether-infused blades.
Richard’s eyes were connected with the black-haired boy who was levitating a few meters above the ground.
Any spell or weapon that was directed at him was easily swatted away by an invisible force before the offender got crushed under the overwhelming strength of the boy.
The son of the Goddess of Thunder and War, Aetheris.
Last time, Richard somehow dealt with him using his two Celestial Weapons. However, the boy seemed different this time....as if he had grown up.
’Can’t be ignored...’ Richard was planning to deal with the kid by himself, when suddenly, "Richard, let me handle him."
Richard turned to look at the person...no, people, "Bella...Emily and Lilia? Are you sure? He is a demi-god, y’know."

"That’s why I am taking their help, or I would have gone alone," Bella spoke, as she clenched her fist in frustration. She knew it was the guy who hurt her brother back in the academy.
The cocky bastard needs to reflect on his mistake, deep six feet under the ground.
Richard heaved a sigh, "Well, be safe." Saying so, he flew back to where the rest of the forces were.
Bella locked eyes with the raven-haired boy before she said, "I will take the lead. Emily, back me up." Saying so, Bella launched toward the foe.
Mid-air, several spell circles began forming behind her as she launched three consecutive spells in James’s direction.
James huffed, as he raised his hand, ready to launch a counter-attack, when suddenly,
*Ting*
His spell was shredded, making his eyes widen before he hurriedly pushed himself away from the incoming spell.
Richard glanced back at his mother, who used the spell-dismantle just now, only to find her sticking her tongue out, "Tee-hee~" she grinned.
Richard exhaled a sigh as he focused back on the battlefield.
The soldiers have already cleared the area for the two giants to battle, as Bella continued to attack James from the front, and in retaliation, the boy used his psychokinesis to repel all the attacks.
The difference between the two mages was that Bella had to chant her spell, but James didn’t. He was simply raising his hand and blocking all the attacks, several meters away from his face.
Not only that, he even lifted a huge chunk of a destroyed tank before hurtling in Bella’s way,
**TING**
However, a greenish barrier appeared before Bella, completely blocking the tank and resisting the mental force James was applying.
The raven-haired clicked his tongue as he raised his hand, intending to lift the blond barrier user off the ground when suddenly his instincts rang,
*SWIFFF*
He ducked just in time before a blade went whistling past the place his head was.
He thrust his hand toward the woman who appeared beside him out of nowhere, but she was quick enough to jump over the arm and deliver a kick to his face.
"Agh!" James winced as his head tilted sideways, followed by a flurry of flames that completely engulfed him.
Richard narrowed his eyes at the spectacle. Although he was proud of how the three of them were coordinating and beating James from left and right, this was far from what James could do.
’Is he holding back...?’ The realisation made Richard not let his guard drop as he remained prepared for the worst.
