Chapter 891: Dormant Heart of a Primordial
The massive shockwave immediately blew all the beasts and mages out of the air, and those standing on the ground found themselves falling over and being pushed back as the ground began to vibrate from a massive earthquake! It felt like a vindictive god had unleashed his fury upon them at that moment, and the only thing that prevented all of them from dying was the fact that they were so far away!
Jason had already anticipated the intense shockwaves from the explosions, so he had created a massive magic shield to block out the worst of it! And once Jason noticed that the shockwave was finally starting to calm down, he put the shield down and fell to one knee while coughing roughly. The Raygun Artefact that Jason had used to fire the resonance blast had been completely obliterated, and a quick [Appraisal] showed that its durability had fallen to 0%. Jason looked down at his burnt hands and he grinned as the skin quickly began to knit itself back. If not for his improved healing factor as a Vympir, Jason was sure he would’ve been burnt alive by that attack! Jason stood up slowly, and he looked over the battlefield! The Resonance blast from the Raygun had absolutely decimated the region, and Jason couldn’t help but appreciate his own destructive force. Jason was standing in a crater that stretched for miles in every direction, and there was black soot falling from the sky and scattering around him like snow.
And in the center of that crater was the broken and burnt body of Diane.
Ding!
A notification sound echoed from the system, and Jason turned to the side to read the tab that appeared there.
——
Congratulation! The User has completed the hidden mission [Primordial Ascension]
——
Mission: Primordial Ascension
The realm of Primordials, unlike the realm of Titans, is not a level of power that can be accessed easily by mortals. It had been decided by magic itself that all those who wish to ascend into the realm of the Primordials must first prove their worth by slaying a Primordial being. As a result of this, TITAN Rank III is the highest level of power most mortals will ever be able to reach. By completing this mission, the user has proven to magic that he is worthy of Primordial Ascension by finding and slaying a Primordial-level being.
Rewards:
The user has claimed the [Mark of Primordial Ascension]
The user has been granted the [Dormant Heart of a Primordial Being]
The user has gained the title [Primordial Slayer]
——
[Mark of Primordial Ascension: This is a mark inherited by all mages who have accomplished the grand feat of slaying a Primordial. Only those who bear this mark will be capable of entering the Primordial realm when they reach the required level of power for ascension.]
——
[Dormant Heart of A Primordial Being: The mana of a Primordial Being is not only far more potent, but also completely different from the mana wielded by those in the TITAN Rank and below. As a result of this, all mages who enter into the Primordial realm will go through a phenomenon called [Mana Evolution], where their mana will be mixed with Primordial Essence in order to evolve the mana into a suitable Primordial State. The Dormant Heart of A Primordial Being acts as the container for Primordial Essence within the body of a mage, and the Heart will activate automatically once the mage begins the process of ascension.]
——
[Primordial Slayer: This title marks the user as a killer of a great Primordial Being and grants the user an added advantage against opponents in the TITAN Rank and below.]
Effects:
+50% chance of inducing [Fear] in any opponent below PRIMORDIAL Rank
+20% boost in the strength of all subordinates when facing off against a PRIMORDIAL Rank being or higher.
——
The user has killed [1] TITAN Rank III Bengari
+1,500,000 Kill Points
——
The user has killed [1] PRIMORDIAL Rank I [Spirit of A Weeping Angel]
+4,000,000 Kill Points
The user has accomplished a Grand Feat!
——
Jason read through the system messages quickly, and he was actually shocked to see the hidden mission that he accomplished. Jason had no idea that he needed to kill a Primordial before he could ascend into the Primordial Ranks. All this time, Jason thought that he would just ascend into the Primordial Ranks the same way he entered the TITAN Ranks! But Jason decided that it didn’t matter anymore since he had already completed the requirement. When Jason gets to the threshold, he would no longer have to wait!
Jason put his hand on his upper stomach as he felt a strange power somewhere there. It was almost like an empty ball had lodged itself in the space above his stomach, and Jason could tell that this was the [Dormant Heart of A Primordial Being] that the system spoke about. Jason wondered how exactly this heart was meant to work, and the system brought up an explanation.
[The [Dormant Heart of A Primordial Being] is a shell which is possessed by all Primordials. This shell contains the Primordial Essence of the Primordial Being, and it is a necessity for the creation of PRIMORDIAL mana. The mana absorbed into the body of a PRIMORDIAL-level mage must first pass through the heart and mix with Primordial Essence in order to create PRIMORDIAL mana. In order for a PRIMORDIAL to move from one Rank to another, it must fill up and break the shell containing their Primordial Essence to create a new, larger shell. For PRIMORDIALS within the same rank, the purity of their Primordial Essence plays a large part in determining who is stronger.]
Jason read through all this quickly, and he couldn’t help but frown slightly. Jason understood what the system was saying, but Jason couldn’t help but feel slightly irritated that there was now another criteria he would need to consider while getting stronger. From what the system was saying, the Primordial Heart was almost like a cup filled with special fuel that can empower the mana absorbed from the environment. The higher the purity of your special fuel, the higher the purity of the mana it produces, and before you can move from one rank to another, you have to break the outer shell of your cup and then create a larger cup.
’Does this mean even after I reach a hundred percent on my stats, I can’t enter PRIMORDIAL Rank II unless I have the required amount of Primordial Essence?’
[Yes, the user is correct.]
’And how can I raise my Essence?’
[There are two known ways to raise Primordial Essence. The first method is via meditation training. The user will constantly send mana through his Primordial Core, and as a result, the user will increase his Essence as well as its purity. This method is considered the most common for most mages in the PRIMORDIAL ranking. The second method is by hunting, killing, and absorbing the Primordial Essence of other Primordial Beings. This method is much faster because the user can increase his Essence significantly with each battle, and the user will only need to worry about purifying his Essence via meditation. This method is only practiced by mages who stand at the pinnacle of power in the known world, such as the user’s father, King Richard.]
Jason couldn’t help the smirk that came to his face once he read the system’s message! It was obvious which of the two Jason was going to be focusing on more! Although Jason didn’t have any issues with meditation since he did a lot of it for his Qi training, Jason didn’t have the time to sit around and increase his power slowly. Jason needed to boost himself as quickly as possible, and the most reasonable way to do that was by constantly fighting.
’Adversity breeds strength.’
