Commander Levinian prepared himself and locked onto all of the Seekers inside Fort U-878. Then, reality warped around him as he activated his Domain. The atmosphere became heavy and thick. It was almost like everyone was suddenly encased by liquid metal. The Sages could barely move anymore, while the few Crushers in the Fort couldn't move at all.
By now, it was obvious that Commander Levinian was a Demon in disguise, which meant that he was a Divine Beast. While normal beasts only received their Domain at the very peak of the Eighth Realm, Divine Beasts received it at the start of the Eighth Realm.
Commander Levinian moved his fingers, and all the Seekers were pulled towards him.
Almost immediately, Fort U-838 sent an alarm to every single Seeker in its vicinity and the surrounding Forts. Nobody was allowed to use their Domain inside a Fort. If anybody used it, they would be viewed as an enemy.
Naturally, as a powerful old Fort, Fort U-878 also had defenses that could target enemies inside of itself. Its internal defenses were not as powerful as its external defenses, but they could buy some time.
Under normal circumstances, any Spirit Lord inside such a Fort would find themselves on the receiving end of several lasers and spatial restrictions.
However...
Fort U-878 sent an emergency request to launch its defenses towards the person in charge. Its Formation Arrays were insanely advanced, but they could still misfire. A misfiring could have devastating consequences, which was why the defenses couldn't be launched without permission.
Commander Levinian received the request and denied it before deactivating the alarm.
In the next moment, all the Seekers appeared around Commander Levinian. A dense ball of 2,000 Seekers surrounded him, protecting him from any attacks.
The Seekers were still in shock. They had no idea what was going on, and they still needed some time to process their new situation. It was important to mention that all of these actions happened within a tiny fraction of a second.
Under the protection of his flesh shield, Commander Levinian charged towards the east. He reached speeds that Sages couldn't reach after just traveling for a kilometer.
In an instant, he reached the outer barrier of Fort U-878. Just before reaching the barrier, Commander Levinian made sure that he also had all of the Sect Members under control. After all, they could partially control the Fort as well.
Seeing the helpless and shocked Sect Members, Commander Levinian charged out of-
BANG!
An explosion of blood appeared in front of Commander Levinian as he charged through the barrier. For just a moment, his mind stopped.
Did he die?
After a quick check, he noticed that he hadn't been hurt. The explosion of blood hadn't come from him but from the Seekers who had been between him and the barrier. The remaining Seekers hit the barrier at full force, but they survived the impact with minor injuries.
At this moment, Commander Levinian floated outside of Fort U-878, covered in blood, while the other Seekers were still inside Fort U-878.
Almost immediately, Commander Levinian realized what had happened.
The barrier had only granted him permission to pass. Every other Seeker had been blocked. Because of that, his body had barreled through the Seekers in front of him like a speeding truck barreling through a flock of chickens.
He had broken through 19 Seekers, killing eleven of them.
This wasn't supposed to happen! He had explicitly told the Fort to let all of them pass! He had the highest authority over Fort U-878!
Unless...
BANG!
Commander Levinian's body exploded as a humongous and metallic skeleton burst out of his body. The bones of the skeleton were thin, long, and chaotic, and countless spears and swords grew out of them.
This was Commander Levinian's true body. His true organs were inside the bones of his skeleton, keeping them isolated from the outside. His body looked like a skeleton, but the metallic bones around his organs were technically an exoskeleton.
He had used this ability to mimic a human. His true body had changed and compressed into the form of a human skeleton while growing flesh and human organs around it. Even the inside of his skeleton mimicked a human's skeleton. All the parts of his original body had been pushed into one of the vertebrae of his neck.
If anyone tried to investigate his true body by attacking his skeleton, they wouldn't find anything. If they wanted to investigate that specific vertebra, he could just move his true body somewhere else. If they wanted to investigate without warning him, there would be a high likelihood that even a human would die under such an attack, since a lot of important Energy Pathways went through the vertebrae in the neck.
Together with several created techniques, Commander Levinian had managed to fool Humanity into believing that he was a human.
Not anymore.
Commander Levinian sped towards the east at full speed as he activated his Domain again.
On the frontlines, Kyle and the Seekers around him suddenly felt like they couldn't move anymore. Everyone's perception stretched towards the west, and when they saw the gigantic and chaotic skeleton, their suspicions were confirmed.
Commander Levinian was a Demon!
Everything happened so quickly that Kyle couldn't even properly perceive it. Commander Levinian was a Mid Domain Demon. He was as powerful as a Major or Advanced Spirit Lord!
Just before Kyle realized that Commander Levinian was charging right towards them, he saw something else.
BANG!
A single blue laser hit one of Commander Levinian's bones before exploding. The explosion was just big enough to cover all of Commander Levinian's body.
The shockwave of the explosion shook the frontlines, and the fighting parties were thrown back for a moment.
CRKSH!
At that point, five of the Sages suddenly died to attacks from the surrounding Demons. The soldiers' defenses had collapsed under the attack, and while they had still been frozen in shock, the Demons had resumed attacking.
The Demons that swarmed the frontlines were mindless. They were still intelligent, but they lost all sense of self. They were pure killing machines that didn't value their lives. No matter what happened, these Demons wouldn't be frozen in shock, fear, elation, or surprise.
"Defend!" Kyle transmitted to everyone as he activated his Domain again. The other soldiers ignored everything they had just seen and entered combat again.
As the group tried to regain its footing, someone appeared inside Fort U-878.
The Seekers inside the Fort had just recovered from their shock when they saw the new person.
In unison, they stood at attention and saluted.
"Glory to Humanity!" they shouted in unison.
The new person was a woman in the Wisdom Fire Realm, wearing red robes, and when she saw everyone saluting, she just nodded in acknowledgment.
If Kyle could see her, he would be shocked by her aura.
The Energy she absorbed was unreasonable, but at the same time, she also didn't show the signs of being in the Domain or Fusion Realm.
She was just a Sage.
However, the amount of Energy she absorbed was even greater than what the Unique Sage near the Ascension Pool had absorbed.
This could only mean one thing.
This was a Lieutenant General of Humanity.
Generals had control of hundreds of Forts, and all of them were extremely talented Spirit Lords. In order to become a General, one only had to fulfill three criteria.
One, they had to be a Spirit Lord.
Two, their loyalty must be indisputable.
Three, they must have been a Legendary Sage previously.
In order to become a Lieutenant General, one had to fulfill the second and third criteria.
Usually, the rank of Lieutenant General was reserved for future Generals. This was just a transitional rank between Aspirant and General. Their duty was to serve humanity and learn under the other Generals until their longevity in the Wisdom Fire Realm reached its end, after which they would become Spirit Lords and Generals.
Since this woman was a Lieutenant General, it could only mean that she was a Legendary Sage...
