Chapter 455: Chapter 362: Advancing to Tier 5

Western Theater Command.

Deep within an underground cavern of unknown depth.

The cavern was filled with glowing ore, and inverted, triangular stalactites hung from its ceiling.

The faint sound of water dripped from above, making soft plinking noises.

At this moment, a figure sat cross-legged in silence beneath a massive stalagmite, surrounded by a forest of stalactites.

The figure was clad in a suit of black and gold armor.

The armor was covered in cracks.

Disheveled strands of hair obscured most of his face, revealing only paper-pale cheeks, completely drained of color. A trace of dried blood stained the corner of his mouth.

He had clearly suffered extremely severe injuries.

His eyes were shut tight.

A dense concentration of Ethereal Wanderer gathered around him, continuously pouring into his body.

Suddenly, his eyes snapped open.

BLECH! He opened his mouth and spat out a mouthful of dark, clotted blood.

The moment the blood hit the ground, it ignited like gasoline, burning violently until it had seared a small pit into the earth before finally extinguishing.

After spitting out that mouthful of blood, though the man’s aura remained weak, his complexion had improved slightly.

If any high-ranking Evolvers from the Western Theater Command were present,

they would have recognized him. This was none other than the leader of the Western Theater Command, Marshal Mukedo, a Tier Five Human War God.

However, compared to before, Mukedo’s entire aura was now listless.

His face had gained many more wrinkles.

His once light-golden hair had whitened considerably, making him look as if he had aged a dozen years.

"Hm? This aura!"

Suddenly, Mukedo seemed to sense something.

His expression changed as he looked in a certain direction.

’Could it be that thing? No, this aura doesn’t seem quite as strong.’

At this thought, his eyes turned grim and terrifying.

He recalled the scene he had encountered several days ago.

Though he was loath to admit it, he knew he was no match for that giant face from beyond the heavens.

That kind of power was simply incomparable to that of an ordinary Tier Five.

If the will of the world hadn’t intervened and blocked most of its power, he wouldn’t have escaped with just severe injuries.

He had originally thought the entity had left.

But now, it seemed it might have already entered this world.

Thinking of this, a shadow fell over his heart.

Judging by how it had casually destroyed Steel City, that thing was by no means benevolent.

If that Outer Heaven Demon truly entered this realm, it would bring an unimaginable disaster upon the world.

The devastation would be even worse than that brought by the Desolate Gods.

But to kill it... he was afraid that would be impossible with his power alone.

Upon this thought, he opened his palm. A wisp of black light emerged, transforming into a paper crane of pure black.

Gazing at the paper crane in his palm, his lips moved as if he were saying something.

But no sound carried through the air.

When he was finished, the paper crane flapped its wings, turned into a streak of Flowing Light, and shot straight up, vanishing into the rock wall above.

DRIP.

Just then, the sound of a single drop of water was heard.

Mukedo looked to one side.

About a dozen meters away, a bowl sat on a stone platform.

Above it hung a pure, silvery-white stalactite.

The bowl was now filled with a white liquid.

This liquid was a top-tier Spiritual Fruit known as Earth Spirit Milk.

Its purpose was to heal injuries.

However, this Earth Spirit Milk could not be preserved; if more than ten days passed, it would turn into an ordinary liquid.

To be effective, it had to be collected and consumed on the spot.

Just to fill this one bowl took three to four days.

Normally, a single bowl of this Earth Spirit Milk could restore someone even if only half their body remained.

But in his case, he had already drunk one bowl, and it had only slightly improved his condition.

His internal injuries were far too severe.

To recover completely, he would need to drink at least a few more bowls.

With this in mind, he reached out his hand.

Guided by an Invisible Power, the porcelain bowl flew into his grasp.

After a glance at the white liquid in the bowl, he opened his mouth and drank it all in one gulp.

Then, he closed his eyes.

A powerful wave of Vitality began to build within him, starting the process of mending the wounds in his body.

...

The capital city of the Southern Theater Command had a unique name—Half-Sky City.

What made this city unique was that it wasn’t built on the ground like an ordinary city, but a thousand meters up in the sky.

Beneath it was a majestic mountain range, but it was as if this range had been sliced in half by some mysterious and powerful force, leaving a vast, perfectly flat plateau.

This plateau supported Half-Sky City, creating a breathtaking and spectacular sight from a distance.

At the center of Half-Sky City stood a grand palace.

Compared to the modern industrial districts surrounding it, the building seemed somewhat out of place.

Inside the palace, a darkness as thick as ink permeated the air. Only a few faint beams of light struggled to squeeze through cracks in the ceiling, casting mottled patterns on the floor.

Just then, a figure clad in black, full-body armor swiftly approached from outside the hall.

Upon entering the main hall, he knelt on one knee, his gaze lowered.

"Your Majesty, the Empress, a secret message has arrived from the Western Theater Command."

As he spoke, he took a letter from his breastplate.

"Oh?"

In the next second, the dim hall was instantly illuminated by a brilliant light, as if it were midday.

Following the sound, one would see a figure now seated upon the massive throne at the head of the hall.

She wore a bright yellow Emperor’s Robe, its silk shimmering with an iridescent glow. The dragon and phoenix embroidered in its threads were so lifelike they seemed to soar through clouds and churn the vast seas.
