Chapter 453: Chapter 361: 1 Arrow, the Desolate God Falls (Part 2)

However, Hu Qi didn’t give them any more time to think.

He spoke again.

"You have half a minute at most. Give it a try, and you might live. Otherwise, you’re guaranteed to die."

Hearing this,

everyone looked toward the front of the Pan Mountain Gathering Place.

By now, the black tornado was drawing ever closer.

Though it hadn’t arrived yet, a fierce gale was already tearing through the gathering place.

The surrounding trees swayed like helpless straws in the grip of the wind.

Boulders and pieces of the gathering place’s infrastructure,

became insignificant toys, tossed about wantonly by the gale and smashing into their surroundings with dull, heavy THUDS.

The intense air currents created a piercing shriek.

The sound was like a sharp blade scraping across their hearts, chilling them to the bone.

As the tornado closed in, the ground began to tremble, as if it could no longer bear the strain and was on the verge of collapse.

By now,

it was too late to escape.

They would likely be caught by the gale and killed before they could even get out of the gathering place.

Fear spread through the crowd like a tidal wave. The survivors in the gathering place could no longer afford to consider anything else.

Their only option was to place their hopes in the Sun God that Hu Qi had mentioned.

After all, their leader had said it; he probably wouldn’t lie to them.

With this in mind, they closed their eyes one by one and began to pray in low voices.

Countless voices joined in prayer, weaving together and echoing throughout the gathering place.

WHOOOOSH...

As time passed.

A few minutes passed—or perhaps only a dozen seconds.

No one had the presence of mind to keep track.

The gale howled and the sky was bleak, as if it were the end of the world.

Even the buildings in the gathering place trembled slightly.

But other than that, nothing happened.

Terror filled everyone’s hearts; they felt as if death could claim them at any second.

Just then,

a low hum suddenly reverberated between heaven and earth.

In that instant,

the wailing gale seemed to pause.

A piercing golden beam of light, sharp as a sword, instantly shot through the thick, black clouds and shone straight down.

Noticing this strange phenomenon, the crowd instantly stopped praying and raised their heads to the sky.

When they saw the sight before them, it was as if they had all been hit by an Immobilization Spell, left standing frozen in place.

Their faces were etched with expressions of utter disbelief.

For they had just seen the sun fall from the sky.

Above them, in the once-bleak sky,

a great rift had now been torn open.

A great golden sun, radiating an immense light, slowly emerged from the rift and began to descend.

As the great sun descended, golden beams of light shot out from its corona, instantly tearing apart the heavy, oppressive canopy of clouds.

Wherever the beams touched, the darkness receded like torn fabric.

At the same time,

a colossal figure clad in golden armor materialized from within the great sun.

After it appeared, the light of the once-resplendent great sun behind it began to recede,

as if all its power was converging upon the figure, until the sun itself turned a deep, dark red.

"Th-this... is... the Sun God..."

Someone in the crowd was the first to cry out in shock.

The crowd was stunned into silence by the sudden spectacle, their eyes wide and mouths agape, as if unable to believe what they were seeing.

The moment they laid eyes on the majestic figure, a strange and profound feeling welled up within them.

It was a feeling that made them absolutely certain that the figure before them was the Sun God they had called upon in their prayers.

"Gods are real! Great Sun God, please save us!"

"Great Sun God, You are the source of all light, the embodiment of hope and dawn! May Your radiance shine upon the world for all eternity!"

The ordinary survivors, snapping back to their senses, fell to their knees and began to worship the Sun God in the sky with fervent devotion.

Their faces were filled with awe and piety, as if in that one moment, all their fear had been banished by the sacred light.

However, unlike the ordinary survivors,

the Evolvers seemed hesitant.

As Evolvers, beings who possessed power far beyond that of ordinary people,

they naturally didn’t believe in the existence of so-called gods.

But now, the reality before their very eyes forced them to re-evaluate their beliefs.

The impulse welling up from deep within their hearts—an undeniable urge to kneel and worship—was so real that it plunged them into a state of profound conflict and struggle.

On the ground, Hu Qi watched the Sun God Clone manifest, a faint smile touching his lips.

’It really works!’

’The origin of this world is powerful, so much so that it could forcibly resist an invasion from my true body. Trying to enter this world and project my power through brute force would have been incredibly difficult.’

’But that wasn’t enough to stump me.’

’The Divine System, which feeds on the faith of living beings, is different. It’s extremely adaptable to any world.’

’Having these people pray to the Sun God was my way of using the Power of Faith from this world’s believers as a key, allowing me to cloak myself in the guise of a native being and deceive the world’s consciousness. It changes my status from invader to one of its own.’

’However, this requires a significant amount of the Power of Faith.’

’If their lives hadn’t been on the line, their instincts wouldn’t have kicked in, driving them to grasp at this last straw and purifying their faith. Without that, and without nearly half a million survivors praying in unison, it would have been impossible to meet the requirements.’

’Besides, I wasn’t even sure it would work.’
