Chapter 436: Chapter 355: Awakening

"If the new Boss holds this against us, he won’t care what you actually said."

The man’s expression was grim as he warned in a low voice.

When Old Wu heard this, he remembered the rumors about the new leader. His expression changed instantly, and a wave of fear washed over him.

"Alright, just be more careful next time. Don’t talk about the Boss behind his back."

Just as the man was speaking, the roar of an engine suddenly echoed from the distance.

Hearing the sound, the two of them immediately tensed up.

’Could the Boss be back already?’

With this thought in mind, the two quickly climbed a nearby watchtower to look into the distance.

They saw a procession of three motorcycles and several off-road vehicles making their way toward them across the vast wilderness before the Gorge.

They were too far away to make out any details, but that didn’t stop them from sounding the alarm.

WOOO— WOOO—

The sound of the alarm echoed throughout the gathering place.

Inside, Tong Chang was sound asleep, holding an innocent-looking young woman in his arms.

This woman was none other than one of Iron Bear’s three women.

Somehow, she had ended up in Tong Chang’s bed.

The moment he heard the alarm.

Tong Chang’s eyes snapped open. He scrambled out of bed, ignoring the woman’s questions.

He quickly put on his clothes and rushed to the main gate.

After hearing their report, Tong Chang climbed the watchtower and peered into the distance.

As the convoy drew closer, the vehicles came into clearer view.

His expression flickered when he saw the thorn emblem on the off-road vehicles at the rear.

’They’re from the Thorn Gathering Place. What are they doing here?’

Tong Chang had been a member of the Hunting Team, often hunting in the wilds with Iron Bear. He knew the surrounding area like the back of his hand.

Within a fifty-kilometer radius, including the Rotten Leaf Gathering Place, there were originally a total of four gathering places.

The Black Stone Gathering Place had recently been wiped out by a Wild Beast, leaving only the Stone Hill Gathering Place and the Thorn Gathering Place. Both were similar in size to the Rotten Leaf Gathering Place.

But if either of their leaders went up against Boss Iron Bear alone, they were no match for him.

The gathering places in this wasteland didn’t get along. They had even fought and killed each other over supplies.

For these guys to show up here now... you didn’t need to be a genius to know they were up to no good.

And to make matters worse, the new Boss wasn’t in the gathering place.

By now, the other guards had also rushed over.

But since all the members of the Hunting Team were out with Hu Qi, there weren’t many of them.

On Tong Chang’s command, the main gate was shut tight. The guards raised their guns, their expressions grim as they stared into the distance.

RUMBLE—

The sound of the engines drew closer.

Soon, the convoy began to slow, finally stopping a hundred meters from the gate.

These people seemed to completely ignore the guns in everyone’s hands.

They acted this way because they knew the effective range of those guns was only seventy or eighty meters. Beyond that, their stopping power was limited.

"What do you people from the Thorn Gathering Place want at our Rotten Leaf Gathering Place?"

Tong Chang shouted, his eyes fixed on the scene before him, his expression exceptionally grim.

As he spoke, his gaze locked onto a figure climbing out of one of the off-road vehicles, his eyes filled with dread.

It was a thin, one-eyed man wearing a red leather jacket.

He recognized the man. It was the leader of the Thorn Gathering Place, and he was an Evolver.

He was known as the Bloodthorn Butcher.

The man could control thorny vines to attack.

He was extremely ruthless. Any ordinary survivor who ran into him in the wilds was guaranteed a swift death.

Tong Chang had once seen him kill five men with a mere wave of his hand.

If it hadn’t been for Boss Iron Bear back then, their entire Hunting Team would have been annihilated.

The man might not have been a match for Boss Iron Bear, but killing ordinary people like them would be child’s play for him.

"Sirs, the Iron Bear you’re looking for is the leader of this gathering place."

The one-eyed man in red, the Bloodthorn Butcher, ignored Tong Chang’s question.

Instead, he turned to the three figures on the motorcycles, a smile on his face as he spoke.
