Chapter 958: Another Task Completed

Wilderness

Jeremy found a cave-like hideout and hid inside it. He sensed that the beast had gone. He sighed in relief.

He didn’t know why the beast had gone. Just then, he felt a new sense of crisis. The sense of crisis came from another beast.

Fortunately, the feeling went away quickly. Now he understood why the beast had left. He looked down at the armour.

He had avoided getting a direct hit. But he recalled the advice of Manager Brian. He had told him that the armour suit had limits.

It could not sustain the attacks of many Tier-6 beasts. He remembered it.

Then he looked toward the blade. He placed the blade aside before using the inner healing method.

He began to use the inner healing method to recover. As time passed, he felt all the superficial injuries leave his body.

One hour later,

He had completely recovered. He left the place and decided to change his hunting grounds. He had underestimated the threat of the Abandoned Valley.

He had encountered the Tier-6 beast early this time. He then thought of the lone mountain. The lone mountain was also a place where a greater number of beasts appeared at night.

The place was located totally opposite. But the place had more open space compared to the dense forest.

Jeremy Night used his eye power to scan the place.

One hour passed,

Right then, his eyes picked up something. There was a shadow which was moving at extreme speed from one branch of a tree to another.

Jeremy Night paused his footsteps. But his eyes were tracking the beast. It didn’t take long for him to see a clear picture of the beast.

It’s a jaguar. A cat-type Corrupted beast. It’s known for its fast speed.

Just as he was observing the beast, not knowing when the beast turned toward him and started charging at him.

Swoosh!

Jeremy unsheathed the blade. In the blink of an eye, the beast appeared before him. He slashed at the beast.

In a flash, the claws came into contact with the blade.

Clang!

A metallic noise sounded. The impact force pushed him backward, but it was not that threatening.

He realized that the beast was not a Tier-6 Corrupted Beast. So it could be killed.

He readied himself and began to observe the beast again.

On the other hand, the jaguar was over 4 metres in size. It was standing on top of one of the tree branches.

The brown jaguar’s eyes were bloodshot. It once again leaped off the tree and dashed toward the enemy.

Swoosh!

Its speed created a booming sound in the air.

Jeremy, on the other hand, had already covered the blade in starlight power.

Pfff!

His eyes tracked the direction of the beast. His senses kicked in. His eyes and senses were getting more information right now.

When the beast got closer, a few steps away from him,nhe looked at the beast up close. The beast’s movement appeared slow in his eyes.

"Shadow Slash"

The brown jaguar once again used its claw against him.

Right then, he got the information from his senses. He shifted his body weight. The blade in his hand moved.

Pfff!

When it came into touch with the body of the beast, the flesh split open. The blade swept across the neck of the beast.

It severed the blood vessels along the path. Blood gushed forth from the injury like a torrent of water.

Roar!

The jaguar made a low roar before falling down to the ground. Seeing that, Jeremy sheathed his blade.

This time his execution was perfect. He gravely injured the beast in a single move. He saw the beast was dying. It didn’t take long for the beast to breathe its last breath.

When the beast died, he stored the corpse inside the storage ring. He then resumed the journey.

At night, he reached the area closer to the mountain. He didn’t get too close to the lone mountain.

Because he had come across beast footprints on the ground. It showed that beast activities were high here.

He stopped there and began to look around to find a good place to hide. He then jumped onto one of the tree branches.

Soon, his eyes spotted four-legged beasts coming in this direction. Just as he thought he was wasting time, the four-legged beasts appeared to save him the trouble.

The four-legged beasts were hybrid Tier-5 Beasts. He didn’t wait for the beasts to come toward him.

Instead, he rushed toward the beasts next.

Boom!

What followed was a clash. In this night time, he was able to fight easily. The blade danced in the air.

He brought the blade striking downward, targeting the beasts. The blade split open their bodies, injuring them in one move.

Pfff!

One after another, he hacked them to death.

A few minutes later,

He saw the bodies laying over a pool of blood. He hadn’t mutilated them badly. The bodies were still recognizable.

He then collected the beast corpses and placed them inside the storage ring. A total of six four-legged beast corpses.

He had already killed two lizards and one jaguar. He decided to kill one more beast. So he started the return journey.

If he came across any other beasts on the way, he would kill them.

Time passed,

He did come across a Tier-5 Snake beast on the way. He killed it and made his number ten. He then continued the return journey.

As time passed, he got closer to the special base. Surprisingly, he didn’t come across any other beasts.

But he found many Beast Taming groups. Everyone was using the same path. If they came across any higher-tier beasts in the night time, everyone could join hands to fight.

Because there were a few hours left before sunrise. His appearance drew attention as well. They didn’t expect a Tier-3 Beast Tamer to appear on the path.

They thought the Tier-3 Beast Tamer was doing night missions as well. They were surprised and discussed it among themselves.

Jeremy Night didn’t get closer to them. He walked on the path at his own pace.
