Chapter 942: Special Team’s investigation

4th Zone - Special Base

That night, after ending his practice, he went to bed to sleep. He had recovered somewhat, but he thought he needed a few days of rest.

The battle against the unknown bird beast had exhausted him completely. He fell fast asleep.

Time passed.

The next morning, he woke up. He rolled over the bed to get onto his feet. He then began his daily schedule.

2 hours later,

He started his daily practice. He went inside the practice room. He once again used the natural energy in the room.

The unknown beast egg became active to absorb the natural energy.

Jeremy Night didn’t show any urgency. He was fully immersed in his breathing method. The inner healing method was working fine.

The natural energy, turned into healing power, was healing his hidden injuries. The practice went on for a few hours. He exited after feeling his limit.

He didn’t immediately start his training. He rested for half an hour.

He then stood up and started practicing all of his techniques from the beginning. None of the techniques had worked against the almost Tier-7 beast.

If the Tier was too high, it didn’t matter what the skill level was. You cannot match the gap between Tiers.

Jeremy Night learned a lesson from the unknown bird beast. He knew his limit right now. He wouldn’t be stupid enough to face a Tier-7 beast next time.

A Tier-7 beast would be on a completely different level compared to an almost Tier-7 beast. The gap was huge, though it had appeared small.

One hour later,

Jeremy Night thought of the mission. He needed to submit the corpse of the Mountain Wolf. After getting ready, he left the room.

He went towards the administration building. There, he saw Elder Smith and submitted the mission report and the corpse of the Mountain Wolf.

Though the time exceeded the day limit, there would only be some reductions in his credit points. That was all.

Jeremy Night didn’t think about the rewards. He then left the building and went back to his room.

As time passed, he spent his time training. He didn’t have time to think about anything else.

He thought he would reach the limit of the early stage in a few days. If he broke through the limit to reach the mid-stage, his strength would improve.

He decided to select a mission only after the breakthrough.

That afternoon, he went to the canteen to have lunch. His arrival drew attention, but no one came to bother him.

He self-served his food and went back to an empty seat. He sat down and began to eat. People looked at him from time to time, but they soon lost interest.

Then, they minded their own business.

He spent 20 minutes there. After that, he returned to his room and continued with his training.

The Beast Taming Families in the 4th zone had sent a special team to investigate the death of their descendants.

The team had already entered the wilderness here. They were investigating the place where the victims were said to be last seen.

The special team’s purpose was to find out the truth. To seek the truth, they needed to find the corpses first.

They knew it had been days since the incident. If they could find at least bits and pieces of the corpses, it would be enough.

There were specially talented Beast Tamers here. They could confirm whether the Beast Tamers were attacked by higher-tier beasts or not.

But their search was going nowhere. The team was losing hope. Most of them were from the victims’ families, and they didn’t want to go back empty-handed.

The rest of them, those with special talents, had been recruited for the mission. The team continued with the mission as they had no other choice.

Because of it, they had come across higher-tier beasts. The battles had resulted in injuries, but there were no casualties.

But if they continued the mission without direction, it could turn fatal for their team.

The team discussed returning. Especially the Beast Tamers who were hired, wanted to go back. They understood that the mission had no leads.

They were searching randomly, so they were arguing against the continuation of the mission.

That evening, the special team returned to the base. They didn’t board the special flight to go back to the 4th zone.

Before that, they wanted to interrogate a few people here. They wanted to confirm it was not a plot by others in the special base.

So, they stayed there that night. Next morning, the team personally met with Elder Sandra. They obtained permission from her.

Then, the Beast Tamers began to talk to the people in the 2nd year, who were all Tier-6 Beast Tamers.

They completely ignored the first-years, who were Tier-5 Beast Tamers. According to them, a Tier-5 Beast Tamer couldn’t defeat Tier-6 Beast Taming teams.

Because there was a difference between the Beast Tamers and their Lifeline beasts as well. Tier-6 Lifeline beasts could easily injure and defeat Tier-5 Lifeline beasts.

So, they didn’t doubt the first-years. Their goal was to interrogate the second and third-years. If it wasn’t the second-years, then the team must have come across third-year students.

The third-year students were Tier-7 Beast Tamers. They could make a Tier-6 Beast Taming team completely disappear.

Time passed.

While they were doing their work, Elder Carter was in his office. He was worried. He was the last person to see the deceased team.

The special team was sent by the families. If he refused to see them, it would create a bad impression. So, he was expecting their arrival.

That evening, the special team came to see him. He gave them permission. As he expected, they asked about the mission.

He had already prepared his answers. He told them that the team had come to seek advice from him. Apparently, the team had wanted to explore the wilderness by going deeper.

He had warned them, but the team seemed to have ignored the warnings. Otherwise, their disappearance didn’t make sense.

The special team didn’t find any falsehood in his words. They could only helplessly return.
