Chapter 131: Maria, the grocery store owner

Jack came back to his senses after hearing the knocking sound and the woman’s voice.

When he looked up, inside the glass counter was a beautiful mature Black woman who was the same age as Emily. She was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jean shorts. Her curly hair swayed due to the fan that was placed near her face.

She looked at Jack with an annoyed expression and once again scolded him.

"Stop staring at me like an idiot. Are you paying or not?

Jack immediately walked towards the side of the counter and sat in the chair. The chair was placed beside the counter. When he turned his head, Maria’s beautiful side profile was clearly visible from his position.

"I’m Jack."

He moved his hand in front of her for a handshake.

Maria also introduced herself after seeing that Jack’s hand was still waiting for a return handshake without moving.

She didn’t know why, but she didn’t want to embarrass the person in front of her.
