Chapter 1311: Chapter 1310
Lin Fan walked out of the prison, talking on the phone as he walked.
"Yue’er, it’s me. Can you help me check flights to the United Kingdom? What’s the earliest one? Book me a ticket." Lin Fan said.
On the other end, Wei Yue’er was taken aback: "You’re going to the United Kingdom? Didn’t you just return to Yun City?"
Lin Fan replied, "Yes, there’s something I need to handle in the United Kingdom."
"Alright... let me check, hold on." Wei Yue’er said helplessly. Lin Fan had been away for a few days, just returned to Yun City today, and she hadn’t even had a chance to see him before he was off to the United Kingdom again, this time even farther away.
A short while later.
Wei Yue’er said, "I found it. Today’s direct flights from Yun City to the United Kingdom are fully booked. It seems there’s an international event coming up, so the earliest is tomorrow at 8 AM. The quickest way right now is to first go to Hong Kong and transfer there. I’ve already booked you a ticket, the flight is in an hour."
Lin Fan replied, "Okay, I’m heading to the airport now. You should come too, help me drive away the car, see you at the airport."
After hanging up the phone, Lin Fan had already come outside the prison, got into the Rolls-Royce, and immediately called Loli, explaining Ye Tianyu’s situation.
Loli was also surprised: "You’re going to the United Kingdom? So suddenly?"
She was really reluctant. Lin Fan had just returned, and after being apart for a few days, it felt like years, she really didn’t want Lin Fan to leave again.
Lin Fan replied, "I have to go. It’s nothing, I’ll be back in a few days."
Loli said, "What about Zou Xiaosheng’s matter..."
Lin Fan replied, "You continue investigating that doctor and the middleman. As for Little Sheng, I’ll find someone to take care of her, I’ve already thought of someone."
After hanging up Loli’s call, Lin Fan made a third call, this one to Anna: "I’ll leave Zou Xiaosheng to you."
Yunding Manor.
Anna, dressed in casual clothes, was busy in the kitchen with food, seemingly experimenting with some dishes.
After listening to Lin Fan’s explanation of Zou Xiaosheng’s situation, Anna nodded and didn’t ask much, only said, "Got it, I’ll go pick her up now."
After ending the call, Anna put down the spatula in her hand, removed her apron, and headed toward her room.
A few minutes later.
Anna, back in her usual long, straight black hair style, left the mansion, got on her flashy motorcycle, and rode away from Yunding Manor.
Tangchen Yipin.
Zou Xiaosheng stood alone at the entrance of Tangchen Yipin, holding a bag in one hand, waiting for Anna. She had been told by Loli that Brother Lin had an urgent matter and left Yun City, and someone else would come to help her.
Hearing that Lin Fan had left, Zou Xiaosheng felt a bit worried. After all, Lin Fan had been her support, and it was because of Lin Fan that she had enough courage to face her miserable life. Now that Lin Fan was not around, she was unsure if this other person would be reliable.
At this moment, near Tangchen Yipin, there were two blonds sneaking around, surveying the surroundings.
Their eyes finally fixed on Zou Xiaosheng.
"She’s the one!"
"The bag she’s holding must have a lot of good stuff inside!"
"Darn it! These rich girls are born with money, and we have none. It’s really unfair, I’m going to slap her face later, just for satisfaction!"
"Me too!"
Their gazes became increasingly vicious. It turned out they were a pair of young people who had just come to Yun City to look for work; they had been troublemakers in school, never focused on studying, but instead lazed around all day, becoming small-time hoodlums. Their families, seeing this, kicked them out and let them fend for themselves.
These two were also aspiring for a better life, thus coming to the big city of Yun City, hoping to find a job, make a name for themselves, and return home with pride. But reality was harsh. They couldn’t find good jobs in Yun City, only low-level work that was tiring and hard.
They couldn’t endure the hardship, and after working for just a few days, they quit on their boss and went back to a life of idleness, wandering the streets every day, and their already limited money quickly dwindling.
With no money left, not even for food, and unable to pay the rent, they discussed amongst themselves and decided to rob some money. Since they were going to rob, why not aim big, and target the rich? Rich people usually appeared in upscale residential areas.
They roamed many places and finally arrived at Tangchen Yipin, where Zou Xiaosheng, standing alone at the entrance, caught their attention.
In their logic, anyone appearing in a high-end place must be rich, so if Zou Xiaosheng was there, she must be rich.
Zou Xiaosheng, just a teenage girl, they could easily bully, too easy to rob. They set their sights on Zou Xiaosheng.
And what worked in their favor was that there were very few people around; after taking her money, they could leave freely, with no one to catch them.
The two had made up their minds to rob Zou Xiaosheng.
The two stepped out from their hiding spot and headed straight towards Zou Xiaosheng.
Zou Xiaosheng was waiting for someone and, seeing the two blonds approaching, she felt a bit strange, thinking they might be there to see her, perhaps to deliver a message or something, so she wasn’t aware of the danger, didn’t hide, or run, just stood there waiting for them to approach.
The two blonds came up to Zou Xiaosheng, and seeing her bewildered look, they were pleased, thinking this girl might be a fool.
One blond grabbed for Zou Xiaosheng’s bag with one hand, while the other blond drew a small knife and pointed it at Zou Xiaosheng.
"If you don’t want to die, keep quiet and hand over the bag!" the knife-wielding blond said in a deep voice, trying hard to appear fierce.
Zou Xiaosheng was momentarily stunned before she realized these two were attempting a robbery!
Zou Xiaosheng was very frightened and indeed quite confused; she was so poor she couldn’t even afford a place to live, how could she be targeted by criminals? She was truly unlucky.
"Please let me go, I don’t have any money." Zou Xiaosheng pleaded, instinctively holding onto her bag tightly, refusing to let go. It was the only thing she had.
But the blonds refused to let her go, and started pulling on the bag, engaging in a tussle with her.
The knife-wielding blond said viciously, "You little brat, still not letting go, do you want to die? Believe it or not, I’ll stab you!"
Zou Xiaosheng was truly scared he might attack, but she refused to let go, so she could only beg, "Please, I really don’t have any money!"
The knife-wielding blond said, "Stop pretending. You live here, and you tell me you have no money, hurry up and let go, or I’m not going to be polite!"
Seeing that Zou Xiaosheng still refused to let go, the knife-wielding blond got angry, and with a loud slap, hit Zou Xiaosheng.
"You little brat, let go of the bag!" the knife-wielding blond yelled in anger.
Zou Xiaosheng, in pain, began to cry but stubbornly held onto the bag. However, she was ultimately no match for the men, and her bag was about to be snatched away.
Just then, the sound of a motorcycle engine came from behind the two blonds, and a super flashy motorcycle pulled up with a beautiful drift stop.
Zou Xiaosheng looked up, eyes brightening, and saw an extraordinarily attractive and statuesque woman with long straight black hair — too stunning, too cool, too breathtaking.
The two blonds, startled, turned and saw Anna; seeing that it was a woman approaching, they calmed down.
"Mind your own business, you old hag, get lost!" one blond shouted at Anna.
