Chapter 14: Divine Market [2]
"This is..." Roy’s eyes narrowed as the system’s interface widened. He was mentally prepared for what’s coming.
What is the essence of a God?
To turn miracles into reality!
The Divine Market is an exclusive, system-integrated trading interface accessible only to higher cosmic entities and players who awakened a divine identity.
He was relaxed, folding his arms.
On his status window, it functions as a celestial commerce hub where accumulated Faith Points serve as the primary access.
[Accessing Phase 1]
As a False God, Roy was only granted access to Phase 1 of the Divine Market, unable to interact with the true gods.
Which meant he could only purchase items from the Divine Marketplace. He wasn’t authorized to sell.
While True Gods utilize vast networks of mortal churches to generate millions of Faith Points to dominate this market, a rising Level 2 False God like him must spend his hard-earned currency strategically to build his faction from the ground up.
"I can see some interesting things," Roy smiled. "Let’s check them out." He clicked an icon on the screen.
The available items within the market were divided by tiers, grades, and divine authenticity compatibility.
Roy smiled, "Divine Authorities are special abilities possessed by a god, just like cultivators of this game awaken skills."
"But unlike mortals, our Divine Authorities have little to no limit," he paused, "Though we’re still restricted by the laws of this game." He sighed deeply.
His eyes flickered, "I can see some useful divine relics. But looking at their price..." His breath hitched.
Phase 1 Divine Market is divided into three sections.
The first is the Mortal Treasury: a section that focuses on mortal supply, containing standard materials, weapons, and blueprints to arm a mortal army, including special manuals with martial arts and battle techniques engraved in them.
The second is the Bloodline Treasury: this section is a highly sought-after category for Roy who stands as the Beast God, containing genetic catalysts, awakening triggers, and racial evolution paths.
The last section is the Divine Treasury: this section is where reality-bending skills, divine spells, and legendary divine relics are traded among cosmic players.
The first section he entered was the Bloodline Treasury, under the Sacred Potions icon.
In this icon, he could see dozens of divine potions listed.
-Phantasmal Void-Stalking Draught (Seventh-Grade Divine Potion)
-Cost: 5 FP
-Effect: Infuses the consumer’s bloodstream with spatial residue. When consumed by a beast-kin with a high agility baseline, it forces the subconscious mind to interface with the shadow realm.
-Utility: It’s a one-time consumable item, but its effects permanently synchronize with the consumer’s DNA.
"Hmm," Roy stroked his chin, "This should be perfect for a Rabbit-kin like Alisa, right?" He stared at her with a smile, "Since I plan on making her my follower, I should prepare a gift for her."
He scrolled down, ignoring dozens of mediocre potions until his eyes met one interesting enough for him to stop.
-Draconic Marrow-Boiling Elixir (Sixth-Grade Divine Potion)
-Cost: 10 FP
-Effect: A terrifyingly volatile potion containing a drop of blood harvested from an ancient Primordial Dragon.
-Utility: If consumed by a mortal who already possesses a mutated beast predator bloodline, it purifies their existing lineage.
"I’ll get this for Eurenia, it should help her transcend her mortal limit." Roy made two purchases.
[You have made a purchase of 15 Faith Points]
"I’m done here," Roy sighed. "I should check out the other sections before..." Before Roy could exit the section, his eyes noticed something. "This is?" he muttered. His eyes glistening, "This is amazing." He grinned.
He hurriedly scrolled down to the item he saw.
-Sanctuary Recreator Elixir (Fifth-Grade Divine Potion)
-Cost: 50 FP
-Effect: A miracle that reconstructs or resurrects a desolate or ruined land, shaping it to the will of a divine being.
-Utility: A single drop into the designated space, it can transform the driest of lands into a sanctuary blessed by divinity. Must be used with Creation Essence.
"Hehehehe," Roy chuckled, his lips curled up. "This is what I need." His laughter resonated across space. "My plans to transform the Hudeii Desert into my sacred land isn’t so impossible after all."
He quickly bought the divine potion.
[You have made a purchase of 50 Faith Points]
-Current Balance: 49 FP
A transparent jug filled with golden liquid appeared on his hand, "I’ll make use of this treasure after making the Hudeii Desert mine."
He caused the item to vanish once again, "And the Great Luna Pack I’m currently raising will be the vanguard to initiate my conquest," he stated.
"With this, I’m done with this section, let’s check the Divine Treasury." He exited the Bloodline Vault section and was about to enter the Divine section when he heard a soft moan.
Alisa’s soft body moved slightly, causing Roy to smile, "Oh? She’s finally waking up, huh?"
The rhythmic, steady swaying of the beast was the first thing that drifted into Alisa’s returning consciousness.
Her long, fluffy white rabbit ears twitched weakly against the dry desert wind, catching the heavy, rhythmic thud of massive claws crushing the hot gravel beneath them.
For a terrifying fraction of a second, panic seized her heart—she remembered the jagged iron cages, the agonizing bite of the Voka tribe’s spiked leather whip, and the gravelly hisses of her brutal Lizardmen captors.
Her crimson, doe-like eyes snapped open, a breathless gasp caught in her throat.
But the expected searing heat of the sun-baked gravel never came. Instead, her cheek was pressed against a firm, broad chest wrapped in flawless black fabric.
A pair of strong, protective arms were wrapped securely around her voluptuous frame, holding her with a gentle care she had never experienced in her entire life.
She blinked through her blurred vision, looking up to see the sharp jawline and the sleek crimson hair of her savior.
It was the mysterious traveler, Jarden Rome.
Up close, she could see the faint, cat-like whiskers brushing against the wind, reminding her of the baffling transformation she had witnessed before passing out.
Alisa’s cheeks instantly flushed a deep, brilliant pink. Her heart hammered against her chest—not out of fear this time, but from an intense, overwhelming shyness.
She was completely trapped against his body, her soft chest pressing tightly against his torso with every stride the beast took.
"Ah..." she stuttered out a small, breathless sound, trying to shift her weight.
As she moved, she finally cast her gaze downward, and her breath hitched completely.
Directly beneath them was a massive, undulating expanse of thick, emerald-green reptilian scales. They were riding high on the broad, muscular back of a towering, four-legged Drake.
The creature’s heavy tail lashed lazily against the canyon walls, and its massive crocodilian jaw was tilted downward toward the dirt.
Alisa’s mind reeled in pure shock. This was an apex beast of the Hudeii Desert—a creature driven by raw, bestial survival instincts, usually fiercely loyal only to the highest-ranking Lizardmen elite soldiers.
Yet here it was, moving forward with absolute obedience, behaving less like a terrifying desert monster and more like a submissive horse.
It didn’t dare to growl; it shivered slightly whenever the crimson-haired man casually adjusted his grip on the reins.
"Y-You..." Alisa whispered, her voice cracked and dry as she looked from the terrifying emerald drake back up to Roy’s calm face. "We are... riding a drake? How?"
Roy didn’t break his gaze from the blue system screens hovering invisible to her eyes.
He simply looked down at her, his lips curling into a smooth, mesmerizing smile that made her drooping ears stand straight up in a flurry of nervousness.
"You’re awake," Roy murmured, his voice gentle but carrying that same chilling, hypnotic undertone of supreme authority.
He lightly tightened his arm around her slender waist to keep her steady on the scales. "Don’t worry about the overgrown gecko, little rabbit. It knows exactly who sits at the top of the food chain now."
"M-Mr. Jarden?" she called. "Yes?" Roy faced her, "Is there an issue?" he asked.
"W-Where are we heading to?" she stuttered for a moment, shyly wrapping her arms around Roy’s muscular arm.
"Tempest City," Roy answered. "W-What?" Alisa’s heart skipped a beat. "T-That... that.... are you taking me there to trade me, Mr. Jarden?" she asked.
Roy could see the fear in her eyes as her arms quivered. He excelled a deep sigh, gently wrapping his arm around her waist, he drew her closer.
"Eh?" Alisa’s cheeks reddened the second she stared into Roy’s amber eyes, "Do not fret, little rabbit," Roy grinned.
"We may be heading for Tempest City, but I’m going there to liberate all beastmen from the hands of their slave masters!"
"Y-you want to liberate them?" Alisa asked, her eyes widened in shock. "That’s right," Roy nodded.
"Depending on the situation, the name ’Tempest City’ may cease to exist."
