Chapter 346: Chapter 210: Recruiting the Scattered Soldiers! Help Me Ascend the Throne

"Female Influencer Sues Clip-Account Blogger for Infringement, Awarded 320,000 in Damages!"

The moment Chen Jincheng saw the headline, he knew exactly what was happening. In his other life, influencers had also sued clip-account bloggers.

And these lawsuits were always a slam dunk, because the clip-account bloggers were, in fact, infringing on the influencers’ image rights.

The law wasn’t on their side.

In his other life, these lawsuits had caused a panic to spread among clip-account bloggers, and many of them left the industry altogether.

Back in ’18, no one understood the power of clip accounts. But Chen Jincheng was different. He knew their potential inside and out, which was why his clip-editing team had already grown to be massive.

Now, whenever he posted a video, he just had to give the word to his clip team. They would spring into action, capable of turning it into a trending topic with incredible speed.

The "Coastal City’s #1 Hottie" trending IP, for instance, wouldn’t have been possible without his clip team editing and circulating the content.

He was therefore well aware of the power of clip accounts. Now that events were mirroring his past life, it was the perfect time for him to absorb all those independent operators.

To put it in more dramatic terms, it was time to ’rally the scattered troops to help me ascend the throne’.

However, he’d have to orchestrate this through Yijin. He’d already decided to gift Yijin a Panamera, and this was the perfect opportunity to use it to generate some hype.

Just as he was mulling this over, his phone suddenly rang.

Speak of the devil, it was Yijin.

Over the past week, the guy had launched over 100 new clip accounts and even hired a few more employees.

With the incident involving Zhu Ling, the Street Vendor Girl, blowing up, Yijin had a prime opportunity. He edited related videos and even filmed Zhu Ling directly to create new clips. The results were fantastic, bringing in a massive amount of traffic.

Out of those hundred-plus clip accounts, at least thirty were promising enough to be useful down the line. It was safe to say he’d made a killing.

Answering the call, he heard Yijin’s voice on the other end. "Brother Cheng, are you at the office? There’s something I need to talk to you about!"

"I am. Come on up!" Chen Jincheng replied with a smile.

’His timing is perfect,’ Chen Jincheng thought.

Downstairs, Yijin hung up the phone, stepped out of his office, and looked at his team of editors. "Alright everyone," he announced with a smile, "keep working on the Zhu Ling videos for today. The hype should be dying down by tomorrow. You’ve all worked hard this week, so we’ll have a team-building dinner when this wraps up."

The employees all cheered at his words, instantly fired up with motivation.

Yijin left the office, satisfied. By editing Brother Cheng’s videos, he had already built up a large portfolio of clip accounts with a substantial following.

The account he used for the "Coastal City’s #1 Hottie" clips, in particular, had already amassed two million followers.

’Once Brother Cheng’s shopping cart feature goes live, I’ll definitely be able to cash in. I have to buy a Panamera by next year. Otherwise, I’ll have no clout when I take girls out on dates.’

But his main reason for going upstairs today was to thank Brother Cheng.

He’d also seen the news about the clip-account blogger getting sued. It made him feel incredibly grateful that he had Brother Cheng’s express permission to create clips legitimately. Without it, he could forget about buying a Panamera next year.

One of his accounts had reached two million followers just by clipping Brother Cheng’s content. Without permission, if Brother Cheng decided to sue, he could easily land him in jail.

He took the elevator to the 8th floor and headed straight for the Second-Life Star office.

"Bro, come in, have a seat!" Chen Jincheng said when he saw him arrive, gesturing for him to sit down.

After sitting down, Yijin said hurriedly, "Brother Cheng, there was something I wanted to talk to you about."

"We’re brothers. Just say what’s on your mind," Chen Jincheng said with a smile.

Yijin’s help in hyping up the "Coastal City’s #1 Hottie" topic and IP alone was reason enough to treat him well.

Yijin immediately explained, "Brother Cheng, since I was the one who helped hype up the ’Coastal City’s #1 Hottie’ topic and IP, the username ’Coastal City’s #1 Hottie’ is still on my account. I want to give it back to you. It doesn’t feel right for me to keep it."

"Oh, right." Chen Jincheng thought for a moment. "Let me see which account we should use." He then dialed Sister Hong’s number. "Sister Hong, Yijin is here and wants to transfer the ’Coastal City’s #1 Hottie’ username to us. Can you find a suitable lifestyle account and prepare to change its name?"

"Got it." After hanging up, Sister Hong checked the company’s lifestyle accounts. One of them already had over 3.8 million followers.

’This one is perfect for the ’Coastal City’s #1 Hottie’ username,’ she thought.

The boss’s personal account wasn’t suitable for such a name. A username like that was better suited for a secondary account, a channel meant to support the main one, functioning more as a topic or a brand ID.

With that, she headed to her boss’s office, where she found him with Yijin.

"Sister Hong," Yijin greeted her politely. She was, after all, the head of Second-Life Star.

Sister Hong beamed. "Yijin, we really owe you one this time. Without you, the boss’s ’Coastal City’s #1 Hottie’ topic and IP would never have gotten off the ground."

Yijin quickly replied, "Not at all, Sister Hong. Brother Cheng has always looked out for me, even giving me inside tips. It was the least I could do."

Sister Hong nodded, pleased with his attitude. ’The boss is a good judge of character,’ she thought. ’This is a person worth connecting with.’

After exchanging a few more pleasantries, they got down to the business of transferring the "Coastal City’s #1 Hottie" username.

They had to do the transfer immediately, while they were all there together. It would be a huge pain if some opportunist happened to snag the username in the interim.
