Chapter 851: Chapter 721: Strange Materials
As it turns out, Flower Scorpion’s combat experience is really impressive, totally living up to Qu Jianlei’s trust.
Not only is her observation skill strong, but her body technique is elusive, and her ability to cut off surveillance is high-level.
In less than three minutes, she cleared all the monitoring and then turned to Qu Jianlei, giving a questioning look.
She was in the dark, supposedly unable to see any eye contact, but she clearly transmitted the questioning emotion.
Qu Jianlei replied with an intense emotion, mouthing the word ’run.’
Flower Scorpion, equally alert, turned around and vanished in the direction she came from.
Qu Jianlei approached the small building, drew out Long Blade, and created an opening in the wall, soundless and stealthy.
He then took out the Storage Talisman and collected the falling bricks and even the flying dust.
Next, he cleared away everyone on the two floors above and put them into the Storage Talisman.
As he entered the basement, he cut the door open again with the alloy blade, in a silent manner.
Inside the basement were four guards, all long since knocked unconscious by him, now killed and bagged... into the Storage Talisman.
The operation went unbelievably smoothly, causing Qu Jianlei to furrow his brow, feeling even more perplexed.
Since it was already done, he couldn’t be bothered to overthink, while carefully perceiving, he swiftly cut through a metal door.
Inside the door were four rooms, three of which were occupied, two women and a man.
Qu Jianlei confirmed that the man’s presence was Bentley, while the two women... he couldn’t quite recognize.
Back when he met Claire, she was still a little girl; now she’s in her early twenties, which explains forgetting her aura.
Thus, before entering, he knocked both women unconscious to avoid complications.
Qu Jianlei first pushed open Bentley’s room door, instantly greeted by a brilliant sight.
The room had four bright lights, each in a corner, illuminating the room with clarity.
A small figure lay on the ground, with no apparent shackles, back turned to the door.
When the door opened, there was a slight sound and airflow, yet the person had no response.
Qu Jianlei perceives once again, softly calling out, "Old Ben?"
The small figure slightly trembled, then fell still.
Qu Jianlei noted the other’s hair was black, contemplating before speaking again.
"Old Ben, if you find this place nice, I’m leaving."
"Damn," murmured the figure, unmistakably Bentley’s voice, "Is this never-ending?"
"If you don’t want to leave, then forget it," though Qu Jianlei felt no danger, he didn’t approach.
"I’ll take Claire away; you can stay put."
The small figure finally moved, sitting up and gradually turning around—who else could it be but Bentley?
He blinked, casting a puzzled gaze at the other, "Your appearance... looks off."
"Just a small trick," Qu Jianlei quickly spoke, "Do you want to leave? Time waits for no one."
Bentley pondered a moment and asked, "When you disappeared, were you alone?"
Qu Jianlei answered with irrelevance, "Flower Scorpion also came; she couldn’t forget your care for her in the Zhou Six cave!"
"Damn it," Bentley stood up, "If Flower Scorpion was caught by you guys too, then I concede!"
"She’s doing well," Qu Jianlei replied casually, indifferent to Bentley’s attitude.
Thinking about it, it’s clear that Old Ben, during the past half-year, must have faced many traps to become so cautious.
He noticed Bentley’s hands and feet were raw and bloody, but didn’t rush to comment, "Which room is Claire in?"
Bentley answered expressionlessly, "Those two rooms, both familiar faces to you."
Qu Jianlei opened a door, and was stunned, "Xiao Qin?"
Xiao Qin was Jamaari’s assistant; when Jamaari first went to Houjing to find him and Bentley, Xiao Qin was there.
She was a Wood Attribute Awakened and once used ’Investigate to the Bottom,’ disrupting their fallback in the woods.
It had been years since they met; Xiao Qin was now B-level, lying on the ground, face pale.
Qu Jianlei frowned, speaking in a deep voice, "Should we take her too?"
He didn’t bother asking for details; this wasn’t the place for reminiscing.
Bentley also answered straightforwardly, "Of course, she’s an accomplice, suffered a lot."
"Damn it..." Qu Jianlei murmured, then opened the third door.
A woman lay on the floor, relatively sturdy, but her youthful aura was unmistakable, "Is this Claire?"
"Of course," Bentley replied casually, "This little girl suffered a lot."
Qu Jianlei glanced up and down at Bentley, raising a hand to slap his chest, seemingly slow yet urgent.
Bentley’s mouth opened, ejecting a blob of black blood, "What did you... huh, can my cultivation level be undone like this?"
He had restrictions applied and was fed suppressive potions, yet this slap brought back his sense of Inner Breath.
"Wait!" Qu Jianlei frowned, speaking sternly, "Don’t utilize Inner Breath."
Then he took out a Baofeng Terminal, "Little Lake, analyze his spine."
The Big Head Butterfly circled twice, "The foreign object embedded in the spine seems to be bio-material; it’s a bit strange..."
"They can regenerate limbs, so why use bio-material for reinforcement?"
"I’m afraid the purpose isn’t reinforcement," Qu Jianlei answered silently; this bio-material really resembled human tissue.
If it weren’t for his strong perception, even a Supreme might have overlooked it.
So he thought of another possibility, "If Bentley uses Inner Breath, what effect will the Electromagnetic Force have on the material?"
"I’m not sure about that," Little Lake quickly replied, "Unless we run a test, but is now the right time?"
Bentley truly deserved his reputation; when Qu Jianlei told him not to use Inner Breath, he managed to control it.
But then you take out a box and stand there in a daze, what do you mean by that?
Qu Jianlei regained his composure, "Old Ben, you have an issue; we can’t solve it now, so you’ll have to come with us!"
"Got it," Bentley nodded, "But, we also have to take these two; can you manage?"
"Are you kidding?" Qu Jianlei gave him a sidelong glance, "What man says he can’t?"
"Haha," Bentley laughed, unusually happy, "Once you said that, I knew who you were."
Qu Jianlei scanned the two unconscious women but didn’t find the same anomaly as Bentley.
Yet, he didn’t wake the two women from their unconscious state but directly asked a question.
"Old Ben, hold onto Claire, I’ll take you all with me, can you manage?"
"Hmph," Bentley snorted lightly, "What man says he can’t?"
So Qu Jianlei grabbed Xiao Qin with one hand and Bentley with the other, disappearing like a phantom.
The Flower Scorpion hadn’t ventured far, crouching at a wall corner twenty kilometers away.
As Qu Jianlei passed by, he called out to her, "Alright, people are rescued, let’s retreat!"
The Flower Scorpion was surprised to see he had three people with him, "One more?"
"It’s Xiao Qin," Qu Jianlei replied offhandedly, "The one beside Jamaari, she got caught up too."
"Xiao Qin?" Flower Scorpion was astonished but soon came to terms, "Can you handle three by yourself?"
Bentley’s laughter rang out, while Qu Jianlei replied irritably, "Just keep up; that’s what’s important."
Two figures... Five figures quickly faded into the night.
After a while, Bentley felt Qu Jianlei’s speed and sensed his ease, unable to resist asking.
"What’s your cultivation level now?"
"Supreme," Qu Jianlei casually replied, "Here to take you on an interstellar adventure!"
"Damn..." Bentley couldn’t help but burst out, "Interstellar adventure, I dream about it... How are you so fast?"
"Just about," Qu Jianlei snorted lightly, "A man can’t say he’s fast either!"
On the way back, it took less than forty minutes to reach the attack ship.
Originally, Little Lake could have sent the warship for support, but Qu Jianlei stopped it.
This could easily expose the artificial intelligence; he didn’t necessarily intend to hide it from his comrades, but they needed time to accept and process it.
Even so, Bentley was taken aback when he saw the attack ship, "Is this... ours?"
Coming from Central City, he hadn’t seen such things up close, only glimpsed them from afar.
"Of course it’s ours," Flower Scorpion responded without hesitation, "It has even participated in battles."
One must admit, Qu Jianlei’s level of spiritual attack was getting higher; even until the warship’s takeoff, the two women remained unconscious.
Flower Scorpion noticed Bentley’s battered limbs, her eyes reddening, "Who did this?"
"Doesn’t matter now," Bentley was quite sanguine, "They’ve already restored three of my limbs, what does this bit of suffering count for?"
Then he looked at Qu Jianlei, "You mentioned not to use Inner Breath... What’s going on?"
"There’s artificial bio-material embedded in your spine," Qu Jianlei replied solemnly, "The purpose is unknown."
Upon hearing this, Bentley immediately understood, after all, he was also a Mechanical Maintenance Master—even if not a very skilled one.
Reflecting, he asked, "My Inner Breath activates, could the electromagnetic elements activate these materials, broadcasting a location?"
Bio-materials generating electricity aren’t rare, even on Blue Star, there are electric eels and such.
Qu Jianlei replied gravely, "I’m not entirely sure, but it’s probably something like that."
This method is indeed quite novel, no wonder the Divine Text Association wasn’t strict in its surveillance, they really had something up their sleeve.
The key is Bentley himself has an Electromagnetic Attribute, so if a locating wave was emitted, others might just think he had an Inner Breath fluctuation.
Bentley straightforwardly took off his shirt and lay on the seat, "Take it out for me!"
Truly worthy of a tough person, something on the spine, and he wants it removed without hesitation.
Remember, from the moment he was rescued until now, less than an hour had passed, and his body was still quite weak.
