Chapter 1395: Chapter 1369: Being Followed
Actually, even if the bald brute hadn’t stopped him, Ye Chen would’ve stepped in to help.
"Big Bro, he’s disrespecting you this hard, shouldn’t we give him a proper lesson?" The man called Xiaoliu said with clear displeasure on his face.
"You grown men ganging up on a little girl here, aren’t you ashamed of yourselves?" Su Wanyi hurriedly pulled Ren Xue over as she spoke.
Originally, the bald brute had already taken a real liking to Ren Xue when he saw her singing on stage, but now that he saw this beauty speaking up, he felt she was even more alluring than Ren Xue.
"This young lady is right, we were indeed in the wrong. I apologize to you." The bald brute said with a smile.
"Big Bro, did you drink too much? How come you’re actually apologizing to them?" Xiaoliu said in shock.
The lackeys beside him were all so stunned their jaws dropped wide open, like they could fit a whole egg inside.
Since when did their Bald Brother have such a good temper that he’d take the initiative to apologize to others? Did the sun rise in the west today?
What they didn’t know was that Bald Brother was currently calculating a scheme in his heart.
After all, this was a public place, a bar. Ye Chen didn’t want trouble either; seeing that the bald brute didn’t keep pestering them, he chose not to pursue it further.
Wang Xiaocong was extremely timid. He didn’t dare utter a single word, mainly because he was afraid that if his old man found out he got into a fight outside, he’d definitely get scolded. So from start to finish, he stayed silent.
Of course, if the bald brute had really bullied Ren Xue right in front of him, he couldn’t possibly just sit back and let it happen.
The four of them left the bar just like that.
The bald brute watched the four of them walk away, a wicked grin flashing in his eyes.
He leaned toward Xiaoliu beside him and whispered a few words, as if assigning him some task.
Xiaoliu nodded repeatedly, saying, "Got it, I understand. Don’t worry."
After he finished, he took a few men and left the bar as well.
The bald brute listened to a few more songs, then also walked out of the bar; the car was already waiting outside.
He got in, and the car sped off.
At night, two flashy sports cars were racing down the road.
In one car sat Ye Chen and Su Wanyi; in the other sat Wang Xiaocong and Ren Xue.
Behind them, a few black vans were tailing them, though all of this was completely within Ye Chen’s control.
But Wang Xiaocong didn’t notice at all; he was too busy chatting and laughing with Ren Xue.
In order not to make Su Wanyi nervous, Ye Chen didn’t tell her about the cars following them.
Of course, he also knew Su Wanyi wouldn’t notice such things.
"Hubby, are you really planning to turn Wang Hao into a singer?" Su Wanyi suddenly asked in puzzlement.
She had finally figured out Ye Chen’s intentions. So the reason he helped Wang Hao just now was because he also wanted to sign Wang Hao.
"Yeah, I’m planning to cultivate him. You heard the song he just sang—he’s definitely raw material worth carving." Ye Chen said with a smile.
"Hubby, he doesn’t have any reputation at all. Training him up like this is really too hard." Su Wanyi said, frowning.
"Exactly because of that, I’ll feel an even greater sense of accomplishment once I polish him up, and our company will only get more and more famous. I already said I’d help you make Star Media the top entertainment company in Modu, even the whole Country." Ye Chen said.
Su Wanyi really couldn’t figure out what was going on in Ye Chen’s head. Wang Hao was just a fresh university graduate.
Turning him into a success would be even harder than those singers who already had some fame, and the manpower, resources, and money invested would be enormous.
"Hubby, I hope you can reconsider. I really don’t think Wang Hao is suitable." Su Wanyi voiced the thoughts in her heart.
As the boss of Star Media Company, she was absolutely entitled to decide who could sign and who couldn’t.
"Wife, then why are you signing Ren Xue? She’s not a singer yet and doesn’t have any fame either." Ye Chen suddenly asked.
Su Wanyi hadn’t expected Ye Chen to ask that, but as someone seasoned in battle, how could she be stumped by Ye Chen?
"That’s totally different. Ren Xue sings at the bar all the time, and the customers really like her voice. I think she’s already got some popularity. If the company polishes her up, she’s bound to achieve something." Su Wanyi said proudly.
In truth, Su Wanyi was looking at people through tinted glasses. She had always felt that Wang Hao was a scammer. Even though Ye Chen wanted to persuade her, she still believed that deep down.
Ren Xue was different. She hadn’t even graduated college, very pure and innocent. The moment Su Wanyi laid eyes on her, she liked this girl, feeling a kind of sisterly affection.
However, Su Wanyi didn’t mention to Ye Chen that she thought Wang Hao was a scammer. She knew Ye Chen would definitely refute her.
Otherwise, Ye Chen wouldn’t have given Wang Hao so much money to treat his girlfriend’s illness—he must’ve done that because he trusted him.
There was no way Su Wanyi would cultivate a scammer, and she absolutely couldn’t tolerate having one in the company.
"Wife, I can tell you very responsibly: Wang Hao’s future achievements will definitely surpass Ren Xue’s, and the company’s profits will depend on him." Ye Chen said solemnly.
"That’s what you think, but I don’t see it that way." Su Wanyi shook her head.
"Alright then, let’s set a one-week deadline. If Wang Hao doesn’t blow up within a week, I’ll agree with you. But if he does blow up, you’ll have to follow my arrangements, how about that?" Ye Chen asked with a grin.
"Fine, we’ll do it your way. Just don’t blame me for being ruthless when the time comes." Su Wanyi nodded.
After all, Ye Chen meant well; they just had different perspectives when it came to judging people.
Su Wanyi didn’t want to get into a fight with Ye Chen over this, but the moment she thought of Wang Hao joining the company, she felt uncomfortable.
Since Ye Chen had set a one-week deadline, Su Wanyou felt it was simply impossible. Even an average singer needed a long time, let alone someone like Wang Hao.
Now that the Two People had reached an agreement, Ye Chen could contact Wang Hao tomorrow.
He glanced at the black vans tailing behind him, an evil smile curling on his lips, thinking, "Since you’re so eager to die, don’t blame me for what happens next."
Ye Chen turned the steering wheel to the right, driving into a narrow alley. Naturally, there weren’t many people there, and the deeper he drove, the more secluded it became.
Not knowing where Ye Chen was going, Wang Xiaocong simply followed after him.
And of course, those black vans stayed close behind them as well.
"Hubby, what are you doing? This isn’t the way home." Su Wanyi asked suspiciously.
"Wife, you’ll know what I’m doing in a minute." Ye Chen said with a smile.
