Chapter 176: Chapter 176: A Colossal Execution

The combat engine of the Zenith Protocol violently hitched.

The server architecture struggled to process the simultaneous activation of multiple system-breaking variables.

Dante had stacked [Blood Sacrifice], [Asura’s Heart], and the [Holy Moment] of Aura to push his base attack power past 36,000.

He had triggered [Colossal Manifestation] to turn [Voidsever] into a one-hundred-meter-long monolith of primordial destruction.

And the [Absolute Severance] passive of Voidsever guaranteed that the massive physical defense of the Level 35 Celestial boss was completely and entirely ignored.

The colossal black blade slammed into the grounded Storm Demon King.

There was no sound of tearing flesh or shattering bone.

The sheer overwhelming mathematical force of the impact completely muted the localized audio engine for a full three seconds.

The massive hundred-meter sword sheared straight through the center of the giant avian beast.

The jagged black metal didn’t stop. It carved a massive perfectly smooth trench directly into the suspended white jade platform beneath the boss to violently shake the entire arena.

Above the severed body of the Storm Demon King, the damage numbers finally popped into existence.

The text wasn’t the standard red or gold. It was a blinding aggressive white outlined in pitch black.

The numbers glitched and overlapped to struggle to display the final calculation.

[-2,400,000! Critical Hit! OVERKILL!]

Two point four million points of raw unmitigated true damage in a single swing.

The Storm Demon King didn’t shriek. It didn’t attempt to trigger a desperation phase or a localized wipe mechanic.

The massive Level 35 Celestial beast simply froze. A jagged black line appeared across its torso and perfectly mirrored the strike.

A second later, the boss violently exploded.

It wasn’t a standard death animation.

The explosion was so massive it completely blew away the swirling storm clouds surrounding the jade platform.

A blinding shower of golden and celestial blue polygons rained down across the arena and glittered in the suddenly clear sky.

Dante landed perfectly on the jade platform.

The ten-second duration of [Colossal Manifestation] expired. The massive black monolith rapidly shrank back down to a standard five-foot greatsword.

Dante stood perfectly balanced and slowly lowered [Voidsever].

He didn’t dismiss the blade immediately.

He took a long slow breath and felt the heavy aggressive adrenaline of [Asura’s Heart] slowly fade from his neural link.

His stamina bar refilled instantly. But the psychological toll of executing a multi-million damage combo was immense.

Aura hovered faithfully by his shoulder and instantly pulsed her [Resurgence Wave].

The massive percentage-based heal washed over him. It refilled his health bar from the critical low of the [Blood Sacrifice] back to a comfortable 25,500 HP.

Dante turned around to look at his squad.

Mei was sitting on the jade floor and panted heavily with her massive cast-iron frying pan resting next to her. She looked up at Dante with her eyes wide.

"Boss," Mei gasped and wiped sweat from her forehead.

"I hit it for two hundred and fifty thousand. You just hit it for two point four million. My math is good, but your math is terrifying."

"You grounded it, Mei," Dante said and offered a rare genuine smile. "I just finished the swing. Flawless execution."

Lila, Sera, Nyx, Casanova, and Garrick slowly walked toward the center of the platform.

They were staring at the massive glowing pile of loot that had spawned from the vaporized boss.

"We cleared it," Sera breathed. Her professional demeanor was completely stripped away by sheer awe.

"We actually cleared an exclusive Celestial pet dungeon. Dante, do you realize what this means for the Emporium? We have absolute monopoly over the highest-tier companion assets on the server."

"Do not count your chickens yet," Nyx warned and pushed her dark glasses up her nose. Her datapad was actively scanning the loot pile.

"The system announcement has not triggered. The dungeon clear is not finalized."

Dante frowned. Nyx was right.

Whenever he cleared a major boss or a localized milestone, the Zenith Protocol immediately broadcasted the achievement globally.

The sky was clear, but it wasn’t displaying any golden text.

He gripped the dark bone hilt of Voidsever tighter.

"Everyone, stay back," Dante ordered. His Intuition stat pinged a faint localized warning.

He walked slowly toward the massive pile of glowing loot in the center of the jade platform.

He didn’t use the [Band of the Void-Walker] to vacuum it up. He wanted to see exactly what was holding up the system logic.

As he approached the pile, the ambient light in the center of the platform shifted.

The glowing blue and silver pixels left behind by the Storm Demon King didn’t dissipate.

They began to swirl and condensed rapidly into a tight localized vortex of pure raw celestial energy.

"Is it a second phase?" Casanova panicked. He grabbed the frying pan of Mei and hid behind the exhausted brawler. "Please tell me it is not a second phase. I am out of emotional support capacity."

"It is not a monster," Dante noted softly.

The swirling vortex of energy didn’t form into a massive beast or a heavily armored knight.

It formed into a small delicate figure.

The light faded and revealed a little girl standing in the center of the jade platform.

She looked incredibly familiar.

She wore a highly intricate light silver dress lined with dark gothic lace. Her hair was stark white and fell in perfect neat curls past her shoulders.

But her eyes were the most striking feature.

They weren’t solid blood-red pools of malice.

They were a brilliant piercing luminescent silver that radiated a calm absolute celestial authority.

She looked exactly like Erebus.

Or rather, she looked like the missing half of Erebus.

[Entity Identified: Celestial Fragment]

[Faction: Celestial (Sealed)]

[Level: ???]

Dante didn’t swing his sword. He stood perfectly still and watched the new entity.

"What is that?" Lila whispered and gripped her staff. "She looks just like the kid you pulled out of the Necropolis."

Dante didn’t answer Lila. He kept his eyes on the girl.

The girl didn’t look at Dante. She didn’t look at the squad.

She looked down at the massive pile of loot, and her silver eyes scanned the scattered gold coins and Celestial crafting materials.

She raised her small pale hand.

She didn’t cast a spell. She didn’t trigger a massive localized reality-warp.

"Stop fighting," the girl commanded.

Her voice wasn’t flat and emotionless like that of Erebus.

It was clear, bright, and carried a profound commanding weight that forced the ambient Storm on the platform to instantly cease.

The system interface flashed a brilliant blinding white.

[System Event: Reality Altered.]

The localized combat parameters of the entire zone were instantly and forcefully overwritten.

Dante felt the aggressive hum of Voidsever completely vanish.

The primordial greatsword didn’t dissolve, but the dark energy swirling in the crossguard was completely neutralized.

The [Asura Vanguard] passives humming in the background of his code were muted.

The game had literally turned off his ability to deal damage.

"Okay," Dante said and slowly lowered the inert black blade. "You have my attention."

The girl lowered her hand. She looked up at Dante, and her silver eyes locked onto his face.

"You carry a heavy burden, Outworlder," the girl said, and her voice was filled with a strange ancient maturity.

"You wield the tools of slaughter, yet you do not surrender to the chaos. You have cleared the corruption from this sacred peak."

"I was just looking for a pet egg," Dante admitted honestly.

The girl offered a small sad smile.

"The Storm Demon King was not a monster. He was a Warden."

"Ten thousand years ago, during the Great Schism, my mother entrusted him with my safekeeping. He sealed me away to protect me from the Orthodox purge."

"Carmilla," Dante noted. "Your mother is Lady Carmilla."

"Yes," the girl nodded. "And the other half of my soul. I can feel her presence. She is bound to you."

Dante didn’t deny it. He opened his localized pet interface.

"Erebus," Dante commanded softly.

The small localized spatial rift tore open next to him.

Erebus stepped out onto the jade platform.

The tiny pale girl in the dark gothic dress was holding a half-eaten candied apple. She looked around the bright sunlit platform and blinked her solid red eyes.

Then, she saw the girl in the silver dress.

Erebus stopped chewing.

The two girls stared at each other. They were perfect mirrors. They were identical in every way except for the colors of their dresses and the light in their eyes.

"You are me," Erebus stated flatly, and her voice was completely devoid of emotion.

"I am the piece you left behind," the silver-eyed girl replied, and her voice was warm and welcoming. "The piece that remembers the light."

Erebus didn’t throw a tantrum. She didn’t point her finger and demand the girl turn into a backpack.

She slowly walked forward and dropped her candied apple onto the jade floor.

The silver-eyed girl walked toward her.

They met in the absolute center of the platform and stood right next to the massive pile of Celestial loot.

They didn’t speak. They simply reached out and took the hands of each other.

The servers of the Zenith Protocol violently hitched.

[System Override: Soul Matrix Reintegration Initiated.]

A blinding massive pillar of interwoven red and silver light erupted from the two girls and shot straight up into the clear blue sky above the platform.

The light was so intense that Dante and the squad had to shield their eyes.

The cosmic weight radiating from the pillar was absolute.

It wasn’t the aggressive destructive pressure of the Asura or the chaotic reality-warping malice of the Half-Soul.

It was perfect harmonious balance.

The light faded after exactly ten seconds.

Standing in the center of the platform was a single entity.

Erebus had changed.

She wasn’t a tiny erratic toddler anymore. The physical model had visibly aged.

She looked like a young teenager now, and her posture was elegant and composed.

She wore a seamless beautifully woven dress that perfectly blended deep crimson velvet with bright shimmering silver silk.

Her hair was a flawless gradient of stark white and deep shadow.

But her eyes were the most striking difference.

The solid unblinking red was gone.

Her left eye was a piercing luminescent silver, and her right eye burned with a deep vibrant crimson.

[Pet: Erebus has undergone Soul Reintegration.]

[Evolution Sequence Complete.]

[Grade: Celestial Anomaly (Complete)]

Erebus slowly lowered her hands. She looked down at herself and examined her new dress.

She looked incredibly calm. Her erratic childish demeanor was completely replaced by a quiet ancient confidence.

She looked up at Dante.

"I remember now," Erebus said.

Her voice didn’t have the heavy dual-layered resonance anymore. It was smooth, melodic, and entirely human.

"I remember the First War. I remember what the Orthodox did to us."

Dante dismissed Voidsever back into his wrist. He looked at the evolved Celestial pet.

"You are not going to turn me into a rabbit, are you?" Dante asked carefully.

Erebus actually smiled. It was a genuine warm expression.

"No, Master," Erebus said and offered a graceful sweeping bow.

"I am whole. My localized logic parameters are fully stabilized. My combat capabilities are unlocked."

Dante pulled up her new stat sheet.

[Pet: Erebus (Celestial Anomaly)]

[Level: 50]

[Status: Bound]

[Combat Participation: UNLOCKED.]

Dante exhaled slowly.

She wasn’t just a passive buff engine anymore. She could actively fight.

"I think we just secured the best loot in the dungeon," Dante muttered to himself.

He didn’t have time to review her new active skills.

The system interface finally caught up with the events on the platform.

The massive delayed global announcement violently hijacked the sky above the entire Overture server.

[GLOBAL SERVER ANNOUNCEMENT]

[The Cosmic Menagerie Event has concluded for ’Demon Spirit Land’.]

[The True Final Boss, Storm Demon King, has been slain!]

[Dungeon Cleared by Guild: Aegis Vanguard.]

The announcement blared with celestial trumpets.

Dante didn’t celebrate. He turned his attention to the pile of loot the two girls had been standing next to.

Sitting in the very center of the gold coins and pulsing with a soft gentle breeze was a massive perfectly smooth egg forged from swirling green and white clouds.

The true prize of the dungeon was finally ready to be claimed.
