Chapter 280: A Whole New World

It was weird how much I wanted to go back to Earth. I mean, I had never thought that I would want to in a million years. I was happy out here, even happier now that I had all my mates with me, but there was a part of me that just wanted to be home.

The guys had been spending a lot of time in the lower levels, trying to enhance the Saalistaja technology so that both Raguk and Midnight could benefit from it.

I had tried to convince them that if they just bled on it, it would work, but none of them believed me.

Getting the hint that they didn’t need my help to figure things out, I have been spending most of my time at the beach a few levels up. But apparently, relaxing on the beach was not for me.

I burnt to a crisp within the first ten minutes of being outside, which was weird because I wasn’t actually outside. Grumbling under my breath about Jun Li and lights, I stalked out of the room and returned to my quarters, trying to figure out how to deal with the burn.

Then my stomach went, and I ended up puking for a good hour and a half straight until a bot had found me and offered me some crackers. A bot. I had six fucking mates, but it was a robotic android that cared more about me than any of them and gave me crackers.

And yes, in case you hadn’t noticed, I was also loosing my fucking mind.

I took in a deep breath and crawled into bed, hoping that a good sleep would make things better. News flash, it didn’t.

And this was how I spent every day for 30 days.

If I thought that I had been pissed before, it was nothing like how I felt now.

My body was no longer my own. My stomach had popped after just a week of me being pregnant, something that would not have happened until the second trimester if I was having a human baby. I couldn’t sleep on my stomach; any weight on it caused me pain. And sleeping on my back was definitely out of the question.

It had gotten to the point that I had to prop my stomach up on a long pillow and lay down on my side with another pillow between my legs just so I could finally catch some sleep before the nightmares started. And there were always nightmares.

I couldn’t eat what I wanted to eat, sleep how I wanted to sleep, wear what I wanted to wear, and as far as I was concerned, I still had another eight months left to go.

I needed to talk to someone.

-----

"We have reached the Earth’s atmosphere," said Jun Li softly in my ear. I sniffed, trying to keep myself from bursting out crying at how gentle he sounded.

"I’m leaving," I said, completely ignoring the guys that were resting around me. It was early, only about 5 a.m. ship’s time, but I was not going to hang around here. I had too much that I needed to do on Earth to wait for everyone to wake up.

Besides, they ignored me for a month, and payback was a bitch. Did I want them to be there when I saw the babies for the first time? Fuck yes. I wanted that more than anything in the world. Unfortunately for me, I was in a bitchy, petty mood, and I wasn’t going to tell them where I was going.

And then hold it over their heads for the rest of our lives that they weren’t there.

Did I mention the mood swings and the hormones? Yeah, they were out in full force right now. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

I got out of the bed and got dressed in the only thing that would fit me: stretchy leggings and an oversized sweater.

"I have found an OBGYN in your hometown and rearranged their schedule. They will be expecting you around 10 a.m. The doctor, Emily Deshaye, has an incredibly impressive resume and, according to her reading list, a thing for aliens. I am thinking that she is going to be the best person to help you right now."

I burst out crying again because of how sweet and supportive Jun Li has become since the whole Pippa thing. "Thank you," I said, wiping my tears. I was really starting to get fed up with how much I was crying lately. I wanted to go back to being a psychopath just so my eyes would stop hurting so much.

I walked into the X96 and sat down in the captain’s chair. It was still on my list of things to learn how to do, so I just let Jun Li fly the ship.

"You didn’t think we would let you go by yourself, did you, Star beam?" asked Midnight as he materialized in the seat beside me. I looked at him wide-eyed as the rest of my mates appeared one after another.

"Surprise," said Tha’juen with a smile on his face.

"It is a surprise," I chuckled, once again wiping the tears from my eyes.

"Hopefully, it is a good one?" asked Ye’tab. I nodded my head but didn’t say anything as the fighter craft flew through Earth’s atmosphere and landed in a deserted park not far away from my old home.

"Welcome to Earth," I announced as the five males activated their nano armor. How they managed to program it to something other than Saalistaja DNA, I had no idea. But I was ecstatic that they were there.

I pulled out my phone, something that I didn’t even realize I had anymore until Jun Li had a bot deliver it to me, and pulled up the OBGYN’s office. It was a 15-minute walk away, but I would be able to grab a drink on the way and show the guys a bit of Earth.

It surprised me just how excited I was to be able to share my world with the guys.
