Chapter 273: Dealing With Different Situations

I watched as a bright blue beam of light shot down out of the sky and hit the skyscraper that was once the Alliance headquarters.

Standing off to the side with Da’kea, GA, and Ye’tab, I waited for the dust to settle and for the shock to wear off.

Within minutes, the sounds of multiple sirens filled the air, and emergency vehicles rushed to the demolished building, trying to save those trapped under the rubble. Too bad for them that they were all dead.

I didn’t need Jun Li to destroy the building. After all, Night had made sure that everyone inside of it was already dead, but it was more of a symbolic thing.

So that everyone would know that the Alliance was well and truly gone.

GA pressed against my back and wrapped his arms around me. I could feel his chin on the top of my head, and I couldn’t help but smile. We stood that way for a while as the chaos in front of us only continued to escalate.

"Are you doing okay?" asked Da’kea from where he stood beside me.

"Of course," I scoffed. How could I not be doing well? I didn’t have to deal with Pippa or the Alliance anymore, and I could concentrate on more important things.

Much more important things.

I rubbed my stomach gently, already finding peace in the new life inside of me.

"What’s next?" asked Ye’tab looking at me. I opened my mouth to answer him, but Da’kea beat me to it.

"She needs to meet with different species that originally made up the Alliance, the Saalistaja, the Sisalik, and the Dryadalis and let them know what is going on," he said.

I closed my eyes and leaned back into GA’s embrace. That seemed like a lot of work. And not something that I wanted to do right now.

"Why?" I asked, not bothering to open my eyes. I trusted them to wake me up if something came up.

"Because you are going to have to lay down the new groundwork. Otherwise, they might decide just to create another Alliance," explained Da’kea, his voice soft and gentle.

"And I can’t get you to do that?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. I mean, he was the diplomate; he should be the one dealing with all the aftermath.

I was pretty sure that if it was left up to me, the meeting would only be about five minutes long, with me threatening them death and dismemberment if they so much as stepped out of line.

What could I say? We all had our own way of dealing with different situations.

Da’kea grunted and nodded his head.

Assured that I wasn’t going to have to take point with that issue, I tapped GA’s arm. When he let me go, I turned around and started to walk toward the spaceport, where my X96 was waiting for us.

----

"I don’t agree," hissed the Sisalik on the monitor in front of us.

Da’kea had found what looked like a conference room in one of the hardly used levels, and the two of us set up camp.

My mate had taken the time to explain to me the importance of each species, what they brought to the table, and anything else of note he thought I should know before the meetings began.

I didn’t have the heart to tell him that all of that information was useless.

I wasn’t going to make any deals; there would be no concessions. They needed to understand that they needed to keep their nose out of other people’s business, and I wouldn’t put up with them interfering anymore.

When he was trying to teach me about my new world, he told me that there were over a million different species out there. Over a million.

So why on Earth did three species think that they had the right to control and dictate the actions of over a million others?

It was one of the biggest issues that I had with organizations like the Alliance. You cannot have a few lording over the majority and expect it to work out.

As it stood, we had been sitting here for almost two hours, listening to some male representing the Sisalik bitch and complain and explain exactly why they should be the ones in charge now.

Da’kea, my male with endless patience, simply sat there and listened through all the bullshit, his calm appearance not once becoming ruffled.

Unfortunately for both of them, I was not in a good mood. I had yet to find a good opportunity to talk to the guys about what was going on, and I was experiencing a lot of fear with it. I needed these meetings over and done with so I could go back to my nest and not move.

"Oh, shut up," I groaned as the male on the monitor paused for a second to take a breath. "We are not asking your permission, nor are we asking for a partnership. We are telling you. The Alliance is gone. If you try to recreate it, I promise you, you will experience the same thing that Orzoth did, and we will take you out, too."

The male looked at me, stunned, but I still had another two meetings to get through before I could go back to my nest, so I needed to finish this one fast. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

"You are going to go back to your species and tell them that I will not start destroying planets simply because the majority of you fucks decided that it was not a big deal to start experimenting on an unknown sentient species. I am your punishment. So shut your mouth and take it like a big boy."

Was I being condescending? Without a doubt. But we had tried the diplomatic route, and instead of the other male cluing in, he decided to keep pushing.

Well, I was the mother fucking brick wall.

"Leave everyone else alone," I stated. "Don’t think that you have the right to lord over other species for some stupid reason or another. You can keep whatever trade agreements that you have in place, but any benefits you got for being a member of the Alliance are expired. I wish you the best life possible. Toe the line, and I promise you and yours a long life. Piss me off and see where that gets you."
