Chapter 263: Who Are We Going To Destroy Today?
I chuckled when I heard Jun Li let out a snort at my statement.
Walking out of the bathroom, I glanced over at the nest, only to discover that it was empty. I cocked my head to the side, wondering what the guys were up to, but decided to just leave them be. It was a big ship, but a ship, nonetheless. They would be back.
I walked into the closet and tried to find a good outfit that screamed ’taking over the universe.’
I ignored pretty much everything, choosing instead to put on my normal catsuit made from the bullet proof material. That, combined with my nano armor, should keep me safe from most threats.
I brought it over to the bed and started pulling it on. Next went the combat boots, and I quickly braided my hair and let it hang over my shoulder.
A quick glance in the mirror and I was ready to go end a war that no one knew was happening.
"Dare I ask what step two is?" asked Jun Li through the overhead speakers as I strolled down the hall and toward the command bridge.
"Let’s get step one done first before we worry about step two," I answered with a bark of laughter. Step one was going to be hard enough. Especially since the drive Jun Li was in was blown up when we destroyed the Sisalik research vessel. I would have to find another way. Maybe a tablet with a connecting cord of some kind?
"You need to eat," said Jun Li abruptly. "I’ll have a bot bring you something."
"A muffin and a cup of coffee would be fine," I answered with a wave of my hand. Truth be told, my stomach had been a bit queasy since the giant orgy a few days ago. I wasn’t overly hungry, but I definitely needed something to wake me up.
I was almost wishing that I could have an energy drink, but it was too early in the morning for that.
"Done."
I sat down in my chair and unfolded the fur. I placed it on my lap and started to pet the softness.
My mind went back and forth between being so tired I could hardly think and so wired that I was going 100 miles an hour.
"Night," I called out, my eyes narrowing on the screen in front of me. I felt a good amount of weight on my lap, and then a tiny squeak let me know that the little nightmare was here. "I need assassins," I said slowly as I started to pet the nightmare. His fur felt like hedgehog quills more than fur, and a sticky substance clung to my fingers as I ran them over the body. But I didn’t care.
He let out a chirp and nodded his head when I looked down at him. "I was hoping to be able to send out the Hive to do this, but the best laid plans and all that crap." I took in a deep breath and let it out as a bot appeared beside my chair with a carrot muffin and a cup of coffee.
Hopefully, there was more sugar in it than coffee.
I cracked my neck back and forth as the bot deposited my breakfast on the small table beside me and then disappeared back into the wall.
My gaze took in the stars shooting past us as we sped toward where Pippa and Stargazer were waiting for us.
"Do you need pictures of those that need to die? Or how does it work?" I asked absentmindedly.
Night chirped once and tapped me with one of his legs. "Pictures?" I repeated, looking for clarification. The cutie nodded his head as he made himself comfortable on my lap.
I didn’t even notice the doors behind me opening and closing until a voice startled me out of my thoughts. "Fuck, is that a voragyis?" asked a low grumbling voice.
I turned to see the giant orc, Uugazt, coming to a quick stop in front of me. It was so sudden that Midnight practically bounced off the other male.
"Ah, we call them nightmares," nodded Midnight as he caught his balance and walked around the green wall. "That one is the king of all of them, Night."
"But it’s a voragyvis," pointed out Raguk, blinking rapidly as he turned to look at the other males behind him. "You are aware of just how deadly they are... right?"
"Our mate has a tendency to collect only the most dangerous of things," chuckled Tha’juen as he clapped Raguk on the shoulder. He walked over to me and laid a gentle kiss on my forehead. Now, it was my turn to blink rapidly, not seeing that coming.
He smirked at the expression on my face before going to stand behind me.
"You should see the Istar queen she has on another ship," laughed Da’kea under his breath, and he, too, approached me. Instead of giving me a gentle kiss, he opened his outer mandibles and clasped them around my lower jaw. He opened his inner mouth to capture my lips, his forked tongue coming out and sweeping the inside of mine.
"She has an Istar queen? I thought that whole species had been eradicated by the Saalistaja centuries ago," sputtered Raguk. I felt a bit bad for him, being thrown into this mess. It’s not like Da’kea was that blasé about me keeping Princess when I first mentioned it.
"Let’s just say that Mei Xing is truly a god amongst mortals and leave it at that," said Ye’tab as he approached me. He nuzzled the side of my cheek, and I smiled. I had originally thought that this was his way of kissing me, only to learn that he was, in fact, transferring his scent to me so that everyone would know who I belonged to.
My little nerd had a possessive streak in him, and I couldn’t say that it upset me.
GA didn’t bother to say anything; just brushed past the other male. Strolling up to the captain’s chair, he picked me up in his arms and spun me around. He sat down first and pulled me onto his lap, rearranging the fur so that it covered the both of us.
"So, who are we going to destroy today?" he asked, not sounding at all perturbed about the idea.
