Chapter 191: Never Trust Something That Can Bleed for Seven Days and Not Die

"And you are sure that you guys are okay with me covering your scent?" I asked, looking at the four males in front of me. They all made sure that I was smelling like them, and I didn’t think that they would appreciate me negating it with the suppressor.

"It’s better to cover all of our scents than it is to let your slip through," said Da’kea, and the others nodded in agreement. "Besides, it’s not like you got rid of them. As soon as the suppressor has worn off, they will all be back."

"And if not, I don’t think that any of us would mind doing that again," smirked Ye’tab as he activated his armor.

We were having three Saalistaja join us onboard Jun Li, and the guys were not happy.

"If this is an issue for you guys, I can always arrange things through a video," I said, my number one priority was to make sure that my mates’ needs were being met. Hey, look at that... I was slowly becoming more human. I knew my psychiatrist didn’t know what she was talking about when she said that I would never be normal.

"It’s fine," growled GA, clearly more annoyed than the others, or maybe he was just better at showing it. "Our mate is in a compromised state; we have strange males that are docking as we speak, and we have no idea what to expect. Yeah, everything is fine."

I blinked, trying to process what he was saying. Compromised state? Was he stressed because I was on my period and thought that I would be more vulnerable? Oh, the poor male.

"Sweetheart," I said, coming to stand in front of my guardian angel. "Do you know when human men are most scared of us females?"

That caused all four men to freeze and turn their attention to me.

"It’s when we are on our period. Our emotions are unstable; we are unpredictable and can go from loving you to wanting to kill you in a matter of seconds. Please trust me when I say that I am not compromised in any way. In fact, I now have so many painkillers going through my system I can guarantee you that I am not going to feel anything if it comes down to a fight. So please, don’t stress yourself. Besides, aren’t these guys your friends?"

"We don’t have friends; we have hunting mates that we occasionally go on hunts with. Otherwise, we prefer solitude," interjected Ye’tab, taking in a deep breath before letting it out. "In fact, this has been the longest I have been around others of my species in centuries."

"Did you want to each take a level so that when you need to be alone, you can?" I asked. I mean, Jun Li was huge; we could divide a single level into four, and they would never meet each other for at least a few weeks.

"No, surprisingly, we are fine," answered Da’kea. "But Au’dtair is right. We don’t know the intention of these males, so please make sure that you are safe at all times. If a fight does break out, just leave us and go back to your quarters. We will be behind you shortly."

"Don’t worry, I’ll be fine," I assured them. "Besides, the males on my planet have a joke that maybe you guys can appreciate."

"And what is that, Stardust?" purred Midnight, wrapping his arm around my waist.

"Never trust something that can bleed for seven straight days and not die." With a smile plastered on my face that they couldn’t see, I strolled off down the hallway and to the lift. I had Jun Li get them to dock on one of the primary levels of the ship, about four stories down from where I currently was.

Despite what the guys might think, I had listened to their concerns, and I was not going to take any chances with my safety or theirs.

None of the males knew it, but I had Jun Li completely redesign this level when he was making changes. Instead of the typical shops and restaurants, only one out of every ten was what it appeared to be. The rest... well, let’s hope they never found out.

I let out a low chuckle as I watched my men hurry up and get on the lift.

"When we get to Deck H, don’t wander off," I said, giving them all a warning. "Things aren’t always what they seem."

"Understood," grunted GA, nodding his head. I missed being able to see his eyes and tusks whenever I looked at him.

Who knew that I found tusks sexy.

Tha’juen looked around at the landing bay they had been directed toward. Something didn’t seem right, but he couldn’t exactly put his finger on it.

"This isn’t right," growled Cruz’uts, looking around the abandoned space. "Au’dtair and Ye’tab knew that we were coming. Why would they send us to this bay, and why wouldn’t they be here to greet us?"

"It could be a trap," responded Vraev’ox. Everything inside of him was screaming that something was off, but it wasn’t sending off any warning bells either.

"The oxygen is different," said Tha’juen, checking the environmental readings. "They are well suited for us to be able to live without our armor."

"Maybe they are trying to lure us into a false sense of security?" asked Cruz’uts. They had just come to a stop in front of the hatch when the doors suddenly opened. Startled, they turned to look at the individual in front of them.

"Who are you?" asked Vraev’ox hesitantly. The male seemed like Au’dtair, but his armor was different; in fact, Vraev’ox had never seen armor like it before in his life. Where did he get it?

The male Saalistaja simply stared at the three of them before turning around. The three males quickened their pace. No matter who the Saalistaja was, friend or foe, they would be ready for any surprise.

"Where did you get your armor from?" asked Tha’juen, his curiosity getting the better of him. It was a work of art, protecting every weak point of the hunter in front of them without any sign of hindrance.
