Chapter 1932: Exalted Emperors Die (II)

Drifting Life howled, sending the sound waves in all directions. Exalted emperors that sought to stop him exploded, their mental strength scattered. Death qi flooded the scene as all of them vomited blood!

There were many exalted emperors in seclusion on Great Li World, but none of them could stop Drifting Life for a single second. If it wasn’t for his focus on the star of time and ignoring everything else that came his way, he might have obliterated everyone in the area.

The gap between mid ranks and eighth rank was too great.

Gan Wuliang and the others paled with dismay. They hadn’t thought that so many people working in conjunction wouldn’t be able to stop their opponent for even a heartbeat. Was this the might of an eighth rank?

A divine note suddenly sounded in the void.

“The gods say that the chaos is unlimited!”

A chasm seemed to appear in front of Drifting Life, one that put millions of meters between him and Li Hao. However, it took only a second before it shattered!

“Hmph!” snorted Drifting Life. The dao of faith and dao of chaos?

Can that stop me?

The queen’s body fell apart not too far away; a tattered moon appeared. She was dejected that the immense power of faith hadn’t given the other pause for too long. It’d been instantly dispelled. Despair and resignation settled in.

They couldn’t stop him!

The chance to do so was right in front of them, but so many people couldn’t even make the eighth rank’s footsteps falter. Everyone was immensely depressed!

Despite not knowing the state of affairs, they saw an eighth rank heading straight for Li Hao as soon as they emerged from Great Li World. Clearly, he wanted to eliminate the young man. The situation was very tense. Li Hao would not have unsealed Great Li World ahead of time if not for that.

They were done for.

Drifting Life glimpsed Li Hao and the star of time as well. The two were very close to each other. He smiled brilliantly.

I am the main character today! I will reverse the heavens and rewrite my destiny! Everything will return to their rightful place so long as I smash through time.

Li Hao was utilizing time to suppress the three eighth ranks, leaving him no ability to do anything else. He could only watch as a punch headed for the dao star. He would no longer be able to keep the three eighth ranks corralled after the star broke. The three eighth ranks would be able to fight back, so it would be too difficult to kill them then!

“Damn it!” Even the Human King was cursing now. He could suffer Reincarnation ruining their chance. But a weakling destroying everything??

That was unacceptable. What the hell was Drifting Life good for??

That was someone he’d hacked to death with a few strokes earlier, and now plainly suffered from a certain degree of shock every time the man faced him.

But... there was nothing the Human King could do either. Holding Reincarnation in place meant that he was locked in place as well. Reversing yin and yang would be ineffective at this point.

It was so infuriating to have trash ruin his plans!

Everyone had done their best!

Even the absent Ole Zhang had given his all. He hadn’t expected that Ole Zhang would break through two worlds as well. The Human King could only say that Ole Zhang possessed very thoughtful vision and keen foresight.

It was the most maddening of all when everyone did their part and tried their best, yet still fell short because of trash like Drifting Life.

Just as everyone wilted with despondency.

Li Hao took a deep breath and watched as the fist descended upon the star of time. He summoned a river into being beneath his feet, bringing both him and Drifting Life into it with a thought.

Whether it was reverse time or freezing Drifting Life, both of those courses of action were out of reach at the moment. But materializing the river and taking Drifting Life down it... following the current... he could do that.

He didn’t know what the river ahead looked like, what the future might be.

But there was no choice other than to walk it.

Li Hao had employed time many times, occasionally reversing it to listen to several Skyward fellow daoists pass on dao. He’d once journeyed through New Martial, witnessing its rise.

But he rarely, rarely utilized it to peek into the future as the future was filled with too many unknowns.

No one knew what could be found in the future.

He’d once summoned his future self and combined it with his past and present self, paying an enormous price for just a second of the future.

The young man would not call upon the future unless he had no other choice. The future was too ephemeral!

No one knew what the future looked like. Out of all the countless possibilities out there, perhaps only death laid in store for many versions of them.

Walking the path of the future was an exceedingly flighty prospect.

Perhaps one’s future self was unfathomably strong. However, the presence of a future self didn’t guarantee a certain past self, which didn’t make the future self a real person...

Li Hao normally didn’t want to contemplate or employ such a complicated ability. Hence, only in following the current could his own abilities be maximized. This was the most he could do. He and Drifting Life would simply take in the sights!

They seemed to pass through endless eons in the blink of an eye. Drifting Life looked around blankly while Li Hao felt quite discomfited. Where did the undulating waves of the river lead to?

Just as Li Hao found it difficult to continue, like nothing would appear or take place, and as the suspicious Drifting Life prepared to make a move against Li Hao...

Something appeared in the depths and at the end of the river.

It wasn’t Li Hao’s future self.

The young man did not see his future in this river. He didn’t know why this was so either. Or was it that his future didn’t have much of a connection with the river of time?

Had he forsaken the river of time?

If he had, why was that?

There was no time for Li Hao to dwell on the matter. As they followed the current down to the end of the river of time, the young man seemed to see... someone sleeping in the depths of it?

Sleeping?

Who would be sleeping in the river of time?

Was it a person?

Or a special existence?

Li Hao wasn’t certain of what was possibly there. There was nothing he could do to identify it.

The person sleeping at the end of the river of time abruptly opened their eyes, like the noise had woken them up.

The person looked blearily upriver. Something seemed to appear in their eyes at the same time. They looked around with confusion, incomprehension, and an indescribable... annoyance.

It was highly annoying to have someone disturb their sleep.

There was also something else...

He suddenly looked at Li Hao and at the star over Li Hao’s head, then at the longsword about to shatter in the young man’s hand. He blinked, then glanced at Drifting Life...

The unknown person jerked with surprise!

“Time...” HIs murmur seemed to pierce through the world and echo through the river. “Have I slept so long that even time has reversed direction...”

What was he seeing?

He seemed to be laying eyes on the master of time!

He seemed to see an incredibly troubled world, wars, destruction, and the reversal of time...

Was that what he saw?

He didn’t know.

But he suddenly made a move, materializing a longsword in his hand. It seemed to be... the Firmament Sword!

Li Hao’s eyes widened with shock!

He saw countless supernatural characters, a dense array of them and so many that it couldn’t be believed. These characters spontaneously converged into incredibly thick great daos.

No, they weren’t great daos. He couldn’t tell what they were.

Great daos of order? Were they... dao rules?

Li Hao didn’t know!

He simply saw the man rush over with a sword. Worlds fell apart and the river snapped, but he sped for Drifting Life. The person who’d woken up was immensely worked up, but also curious and confused.

It was a very complicated mix of emotions that Li Hao didn’t immediately understand.

“Is this the reversal of time? So the master of time... I’ve taken so much from you, but you’re nothing good. You created this river, so why didn’t you resolve the troubles that were left behind from it?

“Just how strong are you?”

Countless questions rose from the depths of the river before it snapped with a swing of the sword!

Boom!

Drifting Life coughed blood as he backed away, shock on his face. How could there be another high rank here?! Where did they come from?? Where had Li Hao taken him??

Why was there suddenly a high rank out of nowhere... and the high rank himself wasn’t terrifying. What was terrifying was that his dao was different from regular chaos dao.

What is this?!

Endless dao strength seemed to be extremely organized. And people like them, whether it was their chaos dao or dao universe, all possessed some disorders dao. They showed signs of collapse when they encountered organized dao such as what was found in the river!

Boom!

A massive collision forced Drifting Life back. Li Hao’s expression changed slightly as well. That person had severed the river with one stroke, leaving himself rather surprised and dejected.

“So... that resulted... only in retreat?” His murmur echoed through the waters. How could that be??

I am invincible throughout existence! Why didn’t I kill that person with one blow?

“Why?” He looked at Li Hao with a complicated emotion, then recorded the young man with a supernatural character. “Where... are you?”

Li Hao tried to make the blurry person come into focus more, but it was like he didn’t exist in this plane of existence. “I am in the chaos!”

“The chaos? But... I’ve already conquered it!”

Li Hao’s heart quailed. It would take a ninth rank to conquer the chaos! But this person did not have that level of strength. He was strong to force back Drifting Life with one blow, but Drifting Life was just an eighth rank, and an injured eighth rank new to his level...

This unknown person was eighth rank at most!

An eighth rank had conquered the chaos??

What kind of joke was that?!

But Li Hao suddenly realized something. The chaos... false chaos?

No... way?!

But... why not?!

His emotions were in a turmoil and he wanted to say something, but a sense of danger descended upon him as he seemed to touch upon something. Li Hao roared, “If you want to find me, then come on out!”

The river broke after that shout. The world collapsed and the future dissipated.
