Chapter 344: Athena all out
The moment Aren walked out of the gate, he realized he was back at the very gate that he had entered through the first time. The others stepped out behind him as well.
"Whoa, it’s been quite a while since we came back here," Aiden said.
"Yeah, no time to look around," Zero said and pointed. A few guards had come out and were now looking at them.
"Shit, they moved faster than I expected," Aren said.
"Hey, who the hell are you?" one guard barked in anger. They all pulled out rifles and pointed them at Aren.
"Overreact much?" Zero asked. She frowned and stepped forward.
"Stop right there and identify yourself," the guard barked. More and more guards had now come and surrounded them, their guns ready to blaze.
"Sorry, but no, we have to leave," Zero said.
"Open fire, keep them here until we get some awakened here to handle this," the guard yelled, and they immediately opened fire. Bullets tore through the air fast.
Zero raised her hands and a spatial dome covered them. The bullets slammed into the dome hard, but not a single one made it through.
When the guards saw this, they realized they might be dealing with stronger awakened.
"I don’t have time for this," Aren said. A shadow spread from his feet and split into multiple tendrils that grabbed the guards, each of them, and hurled them in different directions so that he could get through.
"Well, that’s one way to do it," Aiden said and walked ahead. The others followed behind.
They had barely made it out of the compound before someone arrived.
"Hey."
His voice came in sharp. They all turned and saw a dude flying in from the sky. He had flames coming from his hands and legs as he landed on the ground.
He had on a red leather jacket, dyed red hair, and some shades that made him look like a game character from some action game.
"Excuse me for the interruption, but it seems you lot have caused quite a bit of an issue here." He said and then folded his arms.
"Seriously? This fast?" Aren asked. He stepped forward to attack and get him out of the way, but Athena grabbed his hand and pulled him back.
"I’ve been stressed lately," she muttered in her usual low tone. Then she looked up, her third eye opening immediately.
The man sensed that something was wrong and very quickly tried to move out of the way. The ground cracked in a straight line and exploded right where he had been standing. It was a close shave that he had managed to escape.
He landed on the ground a few meters away, looked up, and his gaze landed on Athena, who was looking right at him.
’That girl, she managed to attack without doing anything that I could see. What sort of ability was that? Earthquake? Telepathy?
Tch, whatever it is, I’ll not allow her to get one in. I just have to use a high blast and attack through it.’
He placed both hands together. "You guys just messed with the wrong dude."
Sparks formed around his hands and the intensity grew until it looked like some sort of massive reaction was about to start.
"Now let me school you lawbreakers." Flames erupted around his hands, burning so intensely it looked like liquid fire. The flames surged through the air, burning hot as they headed towards Athena.
Athena didn’t move. She flicked her hand and her chaos surged through the air. The blood-red energy surged forward and slammed into the flames.
BOOM!
The explosion ripped through the air, but her attack was not finished. It surged forward and slammed into the chest of the attacker, throwing him back and into a parked car.
The car bent inward as his body became lodged in it. He groaned in pain and struggled to push himself out.
"Shit, seems she is not as easy as I thought." He looked up and saw her standing there with her hands still stretched out.
She flicked her hand again and the chaos energy surged forward again, fast. The ground shattered and spun like a vortex.
The man pushed himself off the car at the last moment before the blast slammed into it and completely turned it into shreds. He rolled on the ground as the force pushed him, but he very quickly got back up.
"Tch." He gritted his teeth and then blasted into the air with his flames propelling him. He spun in the air and then punched forward. His flames tore through the air, coming down right at her. Her third eye looked up at him and a blast tore through the flames like they were nothing.
It slammed into the man’s chest hard and threw him back through the air. He coughed out a mouthful of blood before falling to the ground. He hit the floor hard.
"Urghhhh!" He groaned in pain on the ground, blood pouring from his head and other parts of his body.
"Tch, didn’t want to have to go all out here," he said. Flames erupted around his entire body. They burned hot as he rose to his feet, the ground around him melting.
"You are pretty strong, but let’s see how strong you are!" he roared.
"I have had just about enough of your screams," Athena said, and her chaos eyes opened in the air. The chaos energy that blasted out was ten times that of before, and it moved so fast that the man could not dodge.
BAM
The attack slammed into him. First, the flames went out, and second, his body was ripped up and blood gushed out massively. Then his body was hurled back so fast that he became a blur.
He slammed into a wall so hard that he shattered it. The building cracked and collapsed right on him as he lay there under the rubble.
"Whoa, that was crazy," Aiden commented
