Chapter 327: Consume
The elf managed to evade the full attack, but by the time it looked up, Aiden was already close for another attack, his eyes burned with the desire to end the elf.
He swung down, the blade cut through the air fast.
The elf looked at the attack, he moved back and blocked.
The swords collided, the elf didn’t allow that to stop him, with his free left hand, he thrust his hand forward and a massive ball of energy formed and slammed into the stomach of Aiden. The close ranged blast threw him back, shattering multiple ribs and causing him to cough up blood. But there was not a single frown on the face of Aiden, rather a wide smile. He crossed both hands and then slashed, a single slash unleashed a barrage of slashes through the air, all at the elf.
BOOM!
BOOM!
Explosions ripped through the air and the elf was buried in the dust. Aiden watched, with eyes that said he knew the enemy was not dead.
The elf burst from the dust with eager speed, he crossed the distance extremely fast and went for the attack without relenting, his sword glowed blood red, pulsing with the demonic energy that he channeled. The sword vibrated so fast that it could barely be seen. He slashed at Aiden, Aiden stepped in and blocked the attack. His hand was knocked back by the attack, he gritted his teeth and pulled his body forward as he hacked down as well.
The elf blocked the attack, and proceeded to unleash another close range blast, this one more powerful than the last. The demonic energy twisted with black and red, pulsing with a sinister energy.
Aiden saw the attack, his eyes followed the hand, if it hit, he was done, he knew that, he hated that. He refused to believe that this would be the way this fight would end.
’I can’t allow it to end here, tch,’ he gritted his teeth, his mind filled with only the thoughts of how he could fight through this, there wasn’t a way for him to do it normally, he was surely going to get hit.
Aiden clenched his jaw at the last moment, he shut his eyes and channeled every bit of soul energy that coursed through his body. It was an impulse, he had never done this before, he was a swordsman, never had he thought he could manipulate and use his soul energy.
The soul energy condensed where the attack was about to hit. The blast came, it slammed hard into him, throwing Aiden back through the air. The elf thought that it had ended now, only for Aiden to flip in the air and land on the ground, he stood there hunched over, a long second passed before a wild laugh began escaping his lips. His body trembled as he laughed loud, and then he raised his head, his eyes shone with a madness that had just been unleashed.
His eyes carried the kind of crazy you saw in the eyes of battle crazy men, his adrenaline was at an all time high. The soul energy had managed to stop the attack from doing any damage at all. That thing that he had done had somehow awakened a new skill for Aiden, an increase in power.
His entire body began emitting soul energy, his entire body pulsed with strength and not his sword alone. The sword glowed with a blue hue, it trembled fast in his hands, but his grip was firm on it.
"What are you, human!" the elf asked, he looked at Aiden no longer as a worrisome bug that he could swat away, but now an actual challenge that had stopped him from taking out the one that could kill them. The elf realized that in its cockiness, it had chosen to fight Aiden alone, thinking that he would end this fast, but at the end, Aiden managed to hold him off.
"Hahahahaha, from the look on your face, I can tell that he stomped on your plan. That’s bad for you. But as for me, I have gotten something better from fighting against you, so as appreciation, I’ll cut you down," Aiden said and then pressed his foot hard against the ground, he blasted forward so fast and hard that the ground cracked and debris flew into the air.
His speed was at least double that of what he had been using before. The elf was stunned by the sudden increase in speed, he gritted his teeth and stabbed at Aiden, only for Aiden to vanish, and appear above him. "Let’s see how you handle this," Aiden roared and unleashed a barrage of attacks, the blades ripped through the elder elf and cut so deep they cut into the ground, leaving meter deep cuts in the ground.
Aiden landed on the ground, huffing and puffing, his chest rose and dropped constantly, but regardless of how he felt, there was a smile on his face.
Aiden walked away, feeling like he had won, but due to the rush he felt while he fought, he forgot a crucial detail, and that was the fact that the elves could not die. So not long after, the elder elf reassembled and regenerated until he was back.
He attacked immediately after, but then a shadow shot from the ground and wrapped around the elf, pulling it down to the ground. When the elf saw this, he looked up and realized that Aren was back on his feet.
Aren looked at him through the mask, his eyes glowed. "That’s enough," he said.
"Please, I beg of you," the elf begged, the other elves tried to move, it was only then that they realized that shadows had also wrapped around them now.
Their faces twisted in fear, the kind of fear that caused the heart of a man to sink to the bottom of his belly. They all broke out in cold sweat, their bodies trembled uncontrollably, they all wanted to plead and beg, but Aren had enough.
"Consume."
