Chapter 537: Second Floor of the Ascension Tower
Leon finished purifying the last of the fifty-three cores and absorbed it, feeling the final addition register cleanly before he opened his status screen.
The numbers appeared in front of him, and he read through them without rushing, taking each section properly rather than skimming.
He started at the top.

Level fifty. Higher than his rough estimate — the other nothing using those archon-ranked cores had only made this possible, and everything since had stacked more than he’d been tracking. Good.
He moved past class and age without pause. Elemental Paragon SSS, nineteen outside and thirty-five inside — nothing he needed to revisit.
Cultivation: Ascendant. Still. He’d known it would be. Realm advancement wasn’t something combat experience produced on its own — it required a qualitative shift beyond the raw cores rather than accumulated quantity. He could feel the ceiling clearly enough. Not today’s problem.
Affinity: All, Rank 7. He let that land properly for a moment. Every element at that level, passively, all the time. The gap between rank six and rank seven had been significant in practice. He appreciated seeing it again; that was only before the elemental surge.
Then the titles.
[Titles: Hope Breaker (Common), Path Forger (Epic), World Keeper (Legendary), Creator (Mythic), Myth Breaker (Mythical), Anomaly (Divine)]
He skimmed Hope Breaker, Myth Breaker, and Anomaly without stopping — all three were familiar, nothing new in them worth dwelling on. He kept moving.
Path Forger caught his attention properly for the first time in a while.
[Path Forger (Epic)] You break established progression constraints. Grants permanent immunity to environmental restrictions, structural locks, and standard scaling limitations, allowing you to bypass forced progression rules.
He’d felt this working without always recognizing it as this specifically — the way certain barriers that should have applied to him simply hadn’t. Domain restrictions, cultivation ceilings, the invisible architecture that the Upper Ones had built into the world’s structure. Path Forger was why those things bent around him rather than stopping him. Useful to have it confirmed in writing.
World Keeper next.
[World Keeper (Legendary)] You possess absolute ownership, spatial awareness, and authority over a bound ecosystem or realm. Allows you to freely manipulate environmental laws, access points, and spatial boundaries of any space under your direct stewardship.
This one he understood intimately. Everything he did inside his dimensional world — the teleportation without mana cost, the absolute control over what moved and where, the ability to lock the ancient entity in place simply by being the master of the space — was all World Keeper. The title wasn’t abstract. It was the mechanism behind half of what had kept him alive in the hardest moments, and he could do the same thing to any space he had ownership of.
This title was simply absurd, while the thing that had given this ability was definitely not overpowered; this was overpowered, to say the least, in certain circumstances.
The creator came after it.
[Creator (Mythic)] Grants the conceptual authority to weave raw world-laws. You can accelerate the generation of natural resources, manifest unique biomes, or establish fundamental systemic rules within a space bound to your authority.
He read this one slowly.
Accelerate the generation of natural resources. Establish fundamental systemic rules.
He hadn’t used this consciously. He’d been operating through Xyra for the world’s development — letting her handle the merger, the law formation, the structural changes that came with ranking up. But the title suggested he had his own access to that layer of authority, independent of her. Not at her level. Not with her expertise or her hundreds of thousands of years of understanding. But present.
Something to explore when he had time.
Physical stats next, and they were exactly what he’d expected.
[Strength: ★★★]
[Agility: ★★★]
[Stamina: ★★★]
Three stars across all three. Perfectly even — the Divinordial physiology elevated everything simultaneously rather than favoring one category. He didn’t need to think too hard about what three stars in all three categories translated to in real terms. He’d felt it in practice. The mathematics got uncomfortable quickly.
Then the two that actually made him stop.
[Mana: 32,450]
[Intelligence: 15,120]
He read the mana number twice.
Thirty-two thousand. His rough working estimate had been sitting around twenty thousand, maybe slightly above. The gap between that estimate and the actual figure was large — large enough that he’d clearly been significantly undervaluing what the continuous accumulation had produced over time.
The intelligence number hit differently.
Fifteen thousand, one hundred and twenty.
He hadn’t anticipated that. He’d known it was high — the processing speed, the multicasting capability, the Leximancy scaling — but fifteen thousand gave all of it a precise context. It explained why complex spatial calculations resolved almost automatically under pressure, why his tactical reading of situations felt instinctive rather than deliberate. The number wasn’t just high. It was working.
He moved to the dual-heart section.
[Dual-Heart Physiology]
The original human heart turned Divinordial core remains completely intact, but beside it formed a second heart entirely made from the dark crystalline energy of the universe. It appeared black at first glance, yet faint silver patterns resembling galaxies moved beneath its surface. Tiny cracks of violet light pulsed across it like veins. Unlike a normal heartbeat, the Void Heart pulsed slowly and heavily. Every pulse distorted nearby mana slightly.
He put his hand against his chest.
Both of them, distinct and present. The original heart, steady and strong, was the familiar rhythm he’d had since this body became his. The Void Heart beneath it — slower, heavier, each pulse carrying a different weight entirely. The mana distortion it generated was something he’d stopped consciously noticing because it was constant. Focusing on it now, he could feel the subtle field around each beat, the way nearby energy bent slightly in response.
One thing struck him that hadn’t struck him before.
The race line still said Divinordial. Singular. No modification, no additional classification for the second heart, no system notation acknowledging that what was sitting in his chest was two physiologically distinct things operating simultaneously.
The system saw the whole arrangement as one thing.
It doesn’t separate them, he thought. Whatever the Void Heart is, the system has absorbed it into the Divinordial classification rather than treating it as a separate element for now.
That was either reassuring or concerning, and he couldn’t immediately decide which. He filed it and kept reading.
[Primordial Void Heart]
Rank: ???
Type: Unique Constitution
[Void Assimilation]
The heart automatically absorbs traces of surrounding foreign energy. Instead of corrupting him, the heart refines him, forcing continuous internal evolution.
[Mana Purification]
His mana becomes denser and purer than normal mana. Spells are fundamentally denser, more destructive, and cleanly overwhelm standard mana versions at a fraction of the cost.
[Dimensional Resistance]
The Void Heart stabilizes his existence. Grants resistance to spatial crushing, illusion worlds, dimensional storms, and better survival on higher floors.
[Evolution Catalyst]
The Void Heart reacts to powerful energies and slowly evolves. The heart itself can rank up later, unlock hidden abilities, mutate skills, or awaken new traits.
[Hidden Trait — Void Devouring]
When near death, the heart forcibly absorbs nearby energy to keep the host alive, devouring enemy mana, dungeon energy, or remnants of dead monsters. Highly volatile.
First and foremost, Leon remembers the heart rank being Epic before it merged with him; however, it had become just a question mark. It seems that, through the stimulation of his other heart, it might have already evolved a bit, or the question mark could be because of his still being primordial with this unknown heart, which he doesn’t know fully yet.
Void Assimilation explained the mana number immediately. Every battle, every environment saturated with abyssal or elemental energy, every encounter with corrupted beasts — all of it was automatically processed and refined while he focused on other things. He hadn’t been doing anything deliberate. It had simply been running continuously since the heart formed.
That’s where the extra twelve thousand came from, he thought.
Mana Purification he understood before he’d had language for it — the consistent way his attacks outperformed their cost, the way opponents’ defenses yielded faster than his raw output justified. The mechanism was clearer now.
Dimensional Resistance explained the tower’s first floor more cleanly than he’d been able to at the time. Certain sections had felt dangerous in a way that hadn’t fully materialized into actual danger. The heart stabilizing his existence had been the reason.
The rank showing as exceeding classification authority, he found quietly amusing. The tower couldn’t measure it. He filed that in the column of problems he was comfortable having.
He read Void Devouring twice and took it seriously.
He’d felt it during the worst moments of the dimensional world fight — the pulling sensation when the injuries were most severe, the heart working harder. Now he had the confirmation that it was real and intentional.
Highly volatile.
A survival mechanism that triggered automatically was useful. One that was volatile meant it might do something unpredictable in the process of keeping him alive. Worth not treating as a plan.
He closed the screen and stood quietly for a moment.
Stronger than he’d been giving himself credit for. Gaps are still real and present. The path forward is clearer than it had been before reading any of this.
Leon was more than satisfied with his change, and just by knowing it all, he felt even more confident than before.
He stepped through the second-floor portal with a calmness on his face.
