Chapter 41: Full attributes

No one understood the reason for this difference. Over the years, many players had questioned why the system treated these Skill scrolls so differently from standard loot.

Despite many theories, no one could find a logical explanation for why the system did not generate a standard notification for them.

Still, it was how it had been from the very start of the system’s existence, and everyone had simply grown used to this specific rule over time.

Leon picked up the scroll and held it firmly in his hand, feeling the texture of the rare parchment.

He did not hesitate for long and immediately opened it, unrolling the orange material to see what was hidden inside.

[Skill: Red Charge]

[Rank: C]

[Description: Consumes 500 mana to boost your agility by 100% for 10 seconds.]

[Note: When Red Rush is active, you can only charge in a straight line. You can’t stop unless you collide with something.]

Leon clicked his tongue as he stared at the skill’s description.

It was a good skill at its core. A one hundred percent boost to a player’s base agility was a massive increase in raw speed, especially for a skill ranked at C-grade.

Under normal circumstances, doubling one’s speed for ten full seconds could easily decide the outcome of a tough battle or provide a quick way to escape a dangerous situation.

However, the drawback of being able to only charge in a straight line reduced its effectiveness by a lot.

Because he could not change his direction or steer his movement while the skill was active, his path would be entirely predictable to any agile enemy.

To make matters worse, the inability to stop unless he made physical contact with an object meant he would completely lose control of his own momentum.

If an opponent managed to step aside, Leon would keep rushing forward without any way to halt his own progress, leaving himself wide open to a counterattack or risking a heavy crash into a solid wall.

As Leon finished evaluating the pros and cons of the straight-line restriction, a tab appeared right before him, floating directly over the open scroll.

[Do you wish to learn this skill?]

[Yes/No]

Leon stared at the floating system window for a brief moment, weighing his choices before making a final decision.

’Yes.’ he thought with a firm nod, choosing to accept the prompt and acquire the skill nonetheless.

The moment the thought crossed his mind, the orange scroll in his hand began to glow with a soft light before it disintegrated into thousands of tiny, glowing particles.

These brilliant specks of light hovered in the air for a second before rushing toward him, sinking directly into his skin and disappearing completely into his body.

He exhaled slowly, letting out a deep breath as the magical essence of the scroll settled inside him.

As the particles merged with his body, he felt a sudden, sharp rush of information flooding directly into his head.

It was a bizarre sensation, as if an entirely new set of memories and muscle reflexes was being forcibly carved into his brain.

In an instant, he instinctively understood exactly how to activate the skill, how it would feel to channel the energy, and how to control the massive burst of momentum required to initiate the straight-line rush.

As the mental rush subsided and his mind cleared, a new system notification appeared floating right before him to confirm the successful acquisition of the ability.

[New Skill learned: C-rank Red Charge]

Leon closed the notification window with a brief thought.

Now that he had learned a new skill and successfully cleared the dungeon boss, he wanted to check his overall growth and see how his current statistics looked.

’Status Window: Full attributes.’ he thought, deliberately adding that specific command at the end of his sentence.

The air in front of him shimmered slightly as a large, transparent blue screen materialized, displaying his status window.

Normally, under the standard viewing options, his default status window would show only his base attributes without including the massive bonuses and extra boosts provided by his legendary items.

This meant that any regular glance at his status would only display his low, double-digit numbers, hiding the true extent of his current power from immediate view.

However, things were entirely different when he used this specific voice command.

By explicitly instructing the system to show his full attributes, he could see everything about his staus window.

Leon spent a long moment quietly reviewing the detailed breakdown of his status interface.

Looking at his attributes that were sitting comfortably in the thousands, a proud, highly satisfied smile slowly formed on his lips.

His normal attributes were already very high for his level, surpassing the standard baseline for any ordinary player at level seven.

However, when one factored in the massive boosts from his two legendary items, his attributes soared even higher to the thousands!

The overwhelming boosts completely shifted his power scaling, pushing his physical and magical capabilities into an entirely different dimension of strength that normal equipment could never hope to replicate.

If anyone saw his status window at only level seven, they would probably pass out from the sheer shock of it.

It was a sight that would shatter any veteran player’s understanding of the system, as those kinds of numbers were typically reserved for high-level elites who had spent years clearing dangerous high-rank dungeons.

Leon closed his status window and let out a quiet breath, contemplating his current position in the world’s hierarchy.

He thought to himself, ’I’m already above the realm of even S-rank... but can I really call myself SS-rank?’
