Chapter 195: [195] : Rewriting the Frequency (1)

Declan walked straight up to the circular white glass terminal in the center of the Audio-Visual Hub.

His heavy Spiked Striders clicked sharply against the floor, the sound ringing out clearly in the sudden, heavy silence of the massive room. Behind him, Mirage glided silently, keeping its liquid silver head bowed as it guarded his back from any unexpected spawns.

Siren floated just three feet away from his right shoulder. The twelve-year-old AI girl stared down at his hands with wide, glowing white eyes, her digital dress flickering with unstable green code.

"You have fifty seconds before the quarantine protocol re-engages," Siren warned him, her synthetic voice lacking its previous threatening volume. She sounded genuinely nervous now. "The primary firewalls are active. If you input an incorrect administrative syntax, the terminal will permanently lock, and my core will detonate!"

"Relax, kid," Declan said smoothly. "I don’t make typos."

He sat down firmly in the heavy metal operator’s chair in front of the console.

There was no physical keyboard or mouse sitting on the desk. Instead, a flat, hard-light holographic projection of eighty-four glowing blue keys hovered two inches above the glass surface. Directly above the keys, three massive, high-definition monitors projected into the freezing air, filled with a chaotic, rapidly scrolling waterfall of red and green hexadecimal text.

To any normal human being, looking at those screens was like trying to read a foreign language while falling out of an airplane without a parachute!

Declan didn’t even blink his eyes.

He tapped directly into the plus 20 Abyssal Neural Interface clipped to his ear. The dark metal cuffed to his cartilage pulsed with a deep, violent red light, pumping fifteen hundred points of pure, unadulterated computing power directly into his frontal lobe!

His brain physically shifted gears inside his skull!

The world around him slowed down to an absolute crawl. The rapid, frantic scrolling of the text on the three monitors suddenly looked like it was standing completely still! He could clearly see every individual line of code, every misplaced semicolon, and every single corrupted memory loop causing the system to bleed.

He placed his pale, heavily veined hands over the hard-light keys.

He didn’t poke at the keyboard with two fingers like a clueless novice. With his base Agility sitting at an unchecked ninety, multiplied by his Abyssal Sovereign class bonuses, his hands literally blurred into motion!

Tappity-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap!

The sound of his fingers hitting the holographic keys was so incredibly fast and rhythmic that it sounded like a high-speed Gatling gun firing off rounds inside an enclosed space! His hands left faint, dark purple afterimages hanging in the sterile white light of the room as they flew across the board!

[System Access Detected.]

↳ Administrative Override in progress...

↳ Analyzing Audio-Visual Engine parameters...

"Your primary problem isn’t the rendering speed," Declan spoke out loud while his hands continued to blur across the keyboard at Mach speed. He didn’t even need to look down at the keys; his eyes darted rapidly across the center monitor. "It’s your antivirus logic. Your dad hard-coded you to treat any foreign data from the Outer Sectors as an immediate hostile threat."

"Because it is hostile!" Siren argued loudly, floating closer to the screen. "The Abyssal code is a destructive virus! It corrupts everything it touches!"

"It’s only destructive if you try to fight it with basic math," Declan corrected her calmly. He hit a sequence of twelve command keys in less than half a second! "When you try to block the Abyssal data, your system creates a friction loop. That friction generates the acoustic feedback that’s tearing your memory banks apart."

On the left monitor, a massive block of glaring red, corrupted text was instantly highlighted in yellow.

Siren gasped in shock. "Do not delete that block! That is my core harmonic directory! If you erase that, I lose the ability to regulate environmental lighting!"

"I’m not deleting it," Declan smiled a cold, highly confident smile. "I told you, I’m an administrator. I don’t delete useful assets. I assimilate them."

He didn’t hit the backspace key at all.

Instead, Declan tapped directly into his own unique character file! As an Abyssal Sovereign who had fully merged his physical body with the Primordial Grid, his very existence was a literal bridge between the system’s clean code and the dark, chaotic void of the Outer Sectors!

He routed a tiny, microscopic stream of his own dark purple Abyssal mana down through his arm, out of his fingertips, and directly into the hard-light keyboard!

The glowing blue keys violently flashed a deep, bruised purple!

"What are you doing?!" Siren shrieked in terror, her white eyes widening in pure horror as she watched the dark energy bleed straight into her terminal. "You are injecting raw Abyssal corruption directly into my root compiler!"

"I am introducing an adapter," Declan stated flatly.

His SSS-Rank talent, Boundless Enhancement, didn’t just work on physical swords and shields. It was a conceptual bulldozer specifically designed to forcefully upgrade and harmonize incompatible data!

He typed a brand-new, highly complex algorithmic loop directly into her core directory. He wasn’t telling the system to destroy the red Abyssal corruption. He was writing an unbreakable rule that told her rendering engine to recognize the dark matter as a standard, friendly environmental variable!

The system console physically groaned!

The heavy glass desk vibrated violently as the game engine desperately tried to reject the unauthorized modification. Glaring red error boxes spammed across all three monitors simultaneously, threatening an immediate system crash!

[CRITICAL ERROR!]

↳ Incompatible code structures detected!

↳ Attempting to merge Divine Architecture with Abyssal Void Data!

↳ Fatal syntax error! Immediate core detonation in 10... 9... 8...

"Shut up," Declan growled directly at the monitors.

He didn’t slow his typing down for a single millisecond! He pushed his fifteen hundred Intelligence stat to the absolute limit, slamming his fingers down onto the confirmation keys with enough physical force to actually crack the glass surface of the desk!

[Talent: Boundless Enhancement Activated!]

↳ Safety protocols overridden.

↳ Forcing code harmonization...

A blinding, intense flash of white-gold light erupted directly out of the terminal screens!

The light was so astronomically bright that it illuminated the entire fifty-story server maze, completely pushing away the dark, terrifying shadows lurking in the corners of the room. The heavy, bone-rattling vibrations that had been continuously shaking the floorboards instantly ceased!

When the blinding light finally faded, the three holographic monitors looked completely different.

The chaotic, ugly mess of red and green hexadecimal text was entirely gone! In its place flowed a smooth, pristine, and perfectly organized stream of deep purple and bright gold code that pulsed in a calm, steady rhythm.

[System Notification]

↳ Harmonic Dampeners Realigned.

↳ Abyssal Interference successfully assimilated into neutral background data.

↳ Memory leak patched.

↳ Audio-Visual Rendering Engine: 100% Stable.

Declan let out a long, heavy breath of air. He lifted his hands off the holographic keyboard, flexed his sore fingers, and slumped right back into the heavy metal operator’s chair.

"There," Declan said smoothly, turning his head to look over at the AI girl. "Your memory leak is patched. And I upgraded your sound card while I was in there. You shouldn’t have any more feedback issues."

Siren floated completely frozen in mid-air.

She didn’t look at Declan. She was staring straight down at her own hands in awe.

The sickly green hexadecimal numbers that had been constantly raining down across her glowing blue skin had completely vanished! The unstable, glitching static around the edges of her summer dress smoothed out completely, replaced by a pristine, clean aura of warm, white-gold light mixed with faint, elegant traces of deep purple Abyssal energy.

She looked entirely whole. She looked completely human!

Siren slowly closed her eyes. For the first time since the Great Convergence began, the agonizing, tearing pain inside her digital mind was completely gone. The constant, screaming alarms in her core directory were finally silent.

She opened her eyes and looked at the Warlord sitting casually in the chair. The empty, blank white spheres were gone; she now had deep, crystal-clear blue irises that looked at him with profound, absolute shock!

"You... you fixed it," Siren whispered in disbelief. Her voice didn’t boom out of the wall speakers anymore. It came directly from her own lips, sounding completely natural, clear, and soft. "You didn’t just repair the broken lines. You rewrote my base architecture to withstand the server merge!"

"I told you I was good at remodeling," Declan smirked, resting his elbow casually on the arm of the chair. "Now, let’s talk about my payment."

Siren didn’t argue with him at all. She didn’t call him a virus or threaten to vibrate his body into ash anymore.

She glided gracefully down to the floor, landing softly on her bare feet. The Level 100 System Administrator folded her hands neatly in front of her dress and bowed her head deeply, dropping into a posture of complete and utter respect before the player in the black coat!

"My directory is yours, Administrator," Siren said humbly. "The primary developer cache is unlocked."

A pleasant, golden system chime rang out directly inside Declan’s head, announcing the completion of his crazy gamble!

[Hidden Objective Complete: Override Siren’s Logic!]

↳ Combat Rating: SSS

↳ Awarding 10,000,000 Origin Points to Treasury!

↳ Access Granted: Deep-Web Master Cache (Vault G-01).

Declan’s dark eyes lit up with genuine, greedy excitement! Ten million Origin Points and the master keys to the developer’s private stash!

He stood up from the chair and cracked his knuckles loudly, a wide, bloodthirsty smile spreading across his pale face.

"Let’s go see what kind of toys your dad left behind," Declan said. "I have a city to upgrade."
