Chapter 18: Tier-1 Breakthrough

[Abyssal Advancement Trial: Cleared!]

[Experience Gained. Level 6 → Level 10 (Maximum Level Cap hit for Tier-0)]

[All baseline attributes increased by +12.]

[Tier-1 Faction Advancement Unlocked.]

Asher stood in the center of the silent, clearing platform, his breath coming out in even, steady waves as the massive golden rings of his quadruple level-up wove around his black Obsidian armor plates.

His health and mana pools filled back up to the absolute brim, the energy pulsing through his veins with a profound, dense pressure that made him feel twice as heavy as before.

In front of him, hovering directly over the mountain of gray volcanic ash left by the boss, a giant, multi-layered golden slot machine manifested out of thin air.

It was surrounded by heavy, crystalline gears that hummed with a deep, mythic-tier frequency.

The viewer count on his vision screen rapidly updated, the numbers skipping digits as the channel crossed into five-figure viral status.

[Current Viewers: 10,200]

Asher wiped a stray speck of gray ash from his matte-black pauldron, sheathed his steel blade with a clean, sharp click, and walked toward the floating golden wheel.

"Alright, chat," Asher grinned, his silver eyes looking directly into the blue camera lens as the music finished its final fade-out.

"Ten thousand concurrents. The Abyssal boss is dead, and the Tier-1 gacha table is live. Let’s see what kind of god-tier attribute we’re pulling out of this one."

The stormy purple sky of the Broken Bastion instance zone completely dissolved, stripping away the dark clouds and leaving Asher standing back on the polished obsidian floor of the Inner Guild Sanctum.

The towering stone statues of the ancient heroes looked down at him once more, their carved faces illuminated by the soft, warm light filtering through the high stained-glass windows.

The air inside the sanctum was completely still, save for the hum of the massive, crystalline golden slot machine floating over the heavy stone pedestal where Grand Arbiter Marcus stood.

[System Notification: Level 10 Maximum Milestone Confirmed.]

[Current Status: Ready for Tier-1 Class Evolution.]

Asher checked his updated character sheet in his peripheral vision, his heart jumping slightly at the raw numerical spike from the quadruple level-up.

[Character Status]

Level: 10 (Tier-0 Cap reached)

Class: Vanguard (Variant)

HP: 360 → 620 / 620 (Boosted by Vitality increase)

MP: 120 → 260 / 260

Strength: 33

Agility: 33

Vitality: 29

Intelligence: 32

Perception: 28

’Look at those baseline spreads,’ Asher thought, a calm, deeply satisfied smile forming on his lips.

Thanks to his constant gacha extractions and the massive +12 attribute injection from clearing the Abyssal trial, his Level 10 stats were already competing with standard Level 20 players who hadn’t optimized their builds.

[Current Viewers: 10,850]

The chat section on Earth was moving at a speed that could give an average viewer motion sickness.

Ten thousand concurrents meant the stream had successfully broken past the niche community circles and was now sitting squarely on the front page of the global streaming platform.

[User_Tim99]: 10K VIEWERS! WE BOUGHT THE WHOLE STADIUM!

[LootGoblin]: Look at the stats! He has over 600 HP at Level 10! A standard tank at this level barely scratches 400!

[MinMax_Andy]: Let’s analyze the upcoming pull. Since this is an Abyssal Tier clear reward, the gacha table won’t contain common or uncommon traits. It’s a locked Tier-1 Unique pool. Streamer, spin the wheel before the server admin notices the anomaly.

[GamerGuyX]: Pull a weapon skill! We need an AoE clear for the fifty-man gate camp tomorrow!

Asher stepped forward, his heavy iron-plated boots thudding softly against the reflective floor.

Grand Arbiter Marcus watched him approach, his stern, disciplined expression carrying an entirely new level of profound respect.

The silver-plated robes of the NPC rustled as he took a small bow.

"Unprecedented," Marcus said, his deep voice carrying a faint tremor.

"To not only survive the Abyssal Echo of the Iron Tyrant but to completely compress its life force... Traveler Chronos, your soul data has surpassed the boundaries of a standard Vanguard alignment. Step forward and claim the core of your breakthrough."

Asher didn’t hesitate.

He raised his left hand, his palm pulsing with a faint, residual violet smoke from Soul Fracture, and tapped the floating golden interface.

"Activate Abyssal Reward Wheel," Asher commanded.

BOOM.

The heavy, crystalline gears surrounding the golden slot machine began to rotate with a deep, thunderous groan that echoed through the vaulted ceiling.

The three massive reels spun at a blinding velocity, turning into three solid vertical bands of brilliant gold, deep purple, and a sharp, pulsing crimson light that cast long, shifting shadows across the entire sanctum floor.

The background audio protocol in Asher’s mind automatically picked up the transition, a heavy, dark cinematic trap track kicking in with a slow, pounding sub-bass that made the visualizer at the bottom of his stream interface rumble violently.

CLACK-CLACK-CLACK-CLACK!

The reels began to slow down, dropping into place with heavy, mechanical thuds that felt like miniature earthquakes.

Clack.

The first reel locked onto a stylized icon of an iron wall cracked by a violet lightning bolt.

[Class Modifier: Void-Dense Constitution Locked.]

Clack.

The second reel snapped into place, a surge of crimson light flashing across the digital frame.

[Skill Multiplier: SSS-Rank Extraction Synergy Detected.]

Clack!

The third reel slammed shut with a sound like a lightning strike.

The entire interface glitched for three consecutive frames, the golden light violently twisting into a dark, pulsing obsidian violet aura that flooded Asher’s vision.

[SSS-Rank Gacha Success! Tier-1 Unique Class Evolution Confirmed.]

[Evolution Path Assigned: Aegis Phantom (Variant Vanguard - Rank Hidden)]

[Integrating Class Profile into Host Soul...]

A sudden, intense wave of freezing energy rushed down Asher’s spine, instantly followed by a burning, explosive heat that radiated from his core into every single muscle group.

His black Obsidian breastplate hissed, the white geometric lines etched into the metal plates violently turning into a deep, pulsing violet color that mirrored the smoke on his palms.

[Class Traits Updated:]

* Aegis Phantom (Passive): Your S-Rank [Ironhide] is now augmented by the phantom void. 10% of all mitigated physical damage is converted into temporary Soul Shields (Max: 200 Pool).

* Phantom Dash (Rank E - Active - Class Bound): Consumes 15 MP. Instantly turns your body into a weightless shadow, allowing you to flash 5 yards in any direction, passing through physical entities and enemy barriers. Cooldown: 12 seconds.

Asher’s eyes went completely wide, the silver sheen of his pupils flaring with a bright, luminous light.

A tank build with a short-cooldown phase dash.

"Passing through physical barriers," Asher whispered, his gamer brain instantly calculating the strategic implications.

In high-level PvP, a tank’s greatest weakness was being kited or blocked by enemy frontliners while the ranged mages pelted them from the back.

With Phantom Dash, the concept of a frontline didn’t exist for him anymore.

He could literally phase straight through the enemy’s heavy shield wall and execute their backline mages before they could even finish a casting animation.

[MinMax_Andy]: HOLY SHIT. A PHASE DASH ON A TANK BUILD.

[LootGoblin]: He can walk through walls?! He can walk through shields?!

[NoobSlayer]: Look at the synergy! Unstoppable Momentum for the straight-line rocket charge, and Phantom Dash to phase through the defense. This isn’t a vanguard, this is a literal ghost assassin.

[Whale_Watcher]: This build is getting illegal. I’m dropping another two rockets just for the sheer hype of this reveal!

Ding!

[User_Whale_Watcher sent 2 Gift Rockets! "Show the guild what a ghost looks like tomorrow!"]

[Received 200 Stream Points (SP) from User_Whale_Watcher.]

[Current Balance: 860 SP]

Asher closed his character interface, the violet smoke around his Obsidian pauldrons settling into a calm, steady ripple that looked like torn silk.

He turned his gaze back to Grand Arbiter Marcus, who was holding a heavy, dark velvet case containing a new emblem.

"You are no longer a standard rookie of the guard, Aegis Phantom," Marcus spoke, his tone filled with absolute solemnity as he presented the badge.

"You carry the mark of the shadow wall. Go forth, and let the outer realms tremble before your density."

Asher took the badge, pinning the sleek, dark iron crest right next to his bronze adventurer coin.

[Item Received: Tier-1 Iron Sentinel Emblem]

Description: Identifies you as a Tier-1 Rank E Adventurer. Unlocks access to the mid-tier wilderness zones outside Oakhaven’s jurisdiction.

"Thank you, Arbiter," Asher said smoothly, resting his steel vanguard sword over his shoulder with a clean, confident motion.

He turned around, his heavy obsidian boots thudding against the black floor tiles in perfect sync with the fading outro of the trap track.

The morning sun was now fully up, casting brilliant streams of light through the stained-glass windows, illuminating his new violet-etched armor as he walked toward the grand exit doors.

The stream viewer count was stabilizing at a massive 11,000 concurrents, and the community forums back on Earth were currently in a state of civil war trying to figure out how a solo streamer had managed to unlock a hidden variant class within twenty four hours of launching.

Asher pushed the heavy double doors open, stepping out into the bustling morning plaza of Oakhaven’s inner ring.

The fresh breeze carried the scent of bakeries and clean air, but Asher’s focus was already locked onto the western perimeter of his vision.

"Alright, chat," Asher said, his voice dropping into that cool, analytical tone that his ten thousand viewers had come to love.

"The breakthrough is complete. We have the stats, we have the armor, and we just unlocked a skill that lets us walk through solid iron."

He gripped the hilt of his sword, his silver eyes flashing with a dangerous, hungry light under the bright morning sun.

"Gideon and the Iron Vanguard guild said they’re bringing fifty men to lock down the gate today. Let’s go give them their first lesson in phantom mechanics."
