Chapter 39: Chapter 39— Forbidden Territory

Fear gripped Laden as he turned around to look at his surroundings, hoping to get any useful information.

But instead of anything useful, Laden only saw the unending eyes in his surroundings.

All the Golden-furred Monkey on the surrounding trees were all staring straight down at Laden, a similar expression present on all of their faces.

"Interest."

All of the Golden-furred Monkeys looked at Laden with a face showing extreme interest, one that he hadn’t ever seen in Evil beasts.

"Why are these guys different from the Evil beasts I have met before," Laden wondered.

"Is it because they are Apes, who have been known to have a high intelligence or something else,"

Laden couldn’t really pinpoint what sort of expression he was seeing on the beast’s face. Were they interested in him as an anomaly among them or they were interested in how he would taste.

Before Laden’s mind could run farther, he suddenly remembered the monkey that had initially led him here.

"Where’s that bastard," he thought angrily while he scanned his surroundings.

"Do you think you are going to find him here," Prime said condescendingly.

"You have no right to say anything at all, you caused this," Laden blamed.

"I am still feeling that this is going to turn out good, really good," Prime continued.

"Tsk,"

Wohooohohohohohoho! All of the Golden-furred monkeys suddenly started shouting at the same time, their voice resounding all around the surroundings.

"What’s going on, is this some sort of ritual," Laden muttered while anxiously looking around.

While he scanned, his eyes suddenly caught sight of something different. The Golden-furred monkeys on a particular side were quickly separating and opening up a path as if they were making way for an esteemed figure.

And then Laden saw it, from the side of his eyes. He saw four Golden-furred monkeys carrying a makeshift throne led by the same monkey that had led Laden here.

"That sly," he said while clenching his fist.

On the makeshift throne was another Beast, it was much larger than the others and even looked quite different. Its features fit a Gorilla more than a monkey.

"That must be the leader," Laden thought to himself.

"I wonder why the leader is here."

Since there was nothing else for him to do, Laden could only wait and observe how the events were proceeding.

Due to the heavy size of the beast that was being carried by the much smaller ones, their movement speed was extremely slow and from their direction, it seemed they were heading towards Laden but there was about a distance of ten meters between them.

Despite feeling a bit impatient as he watched the snail-paced movement of the beast leader and the loud chatters of the surrounding Monkeys.

"Aren’t they tired of chanting," Laden said with a slight frown.

After about five to ten minutes, the beast leader finally arrived about 1.5 meters away from Laden currents Position.

When they arrived, the small Monkey that had led Laden over detached from the group and approached Laden.

Woohooowohooooo!

The Monkey kept shouting and making the same gestures it made towards Laden when it wanted to arm wrestle him earlier.

But this time it was a bit different, instead of pointing at itself, the Monkey was pointing at the Leader that was seated a distance away.

"They want me to arm wrestle the leader," Laden muttered in shock.

"Are they some weird group of beasts that only worship physical strength? " he wondered and it seems to be true as the leader looked to be the largest of them.

Never in Laden’s two lives had he ever thought that he would get a culture shock from a group of Monkeys.

Without waiting for Laden’s response, a group of Monkeys had already rushed towards the side and picked up a large log to drop in between the two of them.

"Prime, it seems like we need to actually do this again," Laden said with a helpless smile.

Prime being the one that had instigated the whole scenario and being someone that enjoyed any form of combat or battle he didn’t waste time and quickly Appeared in front of Laden before diving into Laden.

The previously laxed Beast leader quickly sat up the moment it noticed Prime’s presence, a sharp glint crossing its eyes.

Now with his hands and face covered with blue fur, Laden was now more domineering and actually a powerful opponent.

In one fluid motion, Laden arrived in front of the log and placed its arm ready to begin. The beast’s leader also stood up and approached, but before it placed its hand.

He pointed in a specific direction, and Laden’s eyes followed the trail and they landed on a pile of bones, a pile that looked made from human bones.

"Is that a threat?" Laden thought.

"Then it really is getting serious, if I don’t win I die," he thought while beads of sweat quickly took shape.

"Can you see that Prime, I need your absolute best" Laden shouted internally.

Haven made sure that his threat had been successfully passed across to the beast, and the leader also got in position, placing its palm in front of Laden’s palm.

Laden finally realized how big the size difference actually was, the beast palm was almost three times Laden’s own.

The two of them gripped each other tightly, and then the tug began.

Its beast leader took the initiative, its hand pushing Laden’s own hand downward, he was losing. Laden kept pushing himself to thelimit,t, and that tiny push was what was keeping him from losing at that moment.

"I can’t lose, I can’t die. Prime I better not die here," Laden shouted in his mind.

"This Primordial one won’t lose to some lowly monkey," Prime also shouted back.

Strangely, Laden felt quite a big surge in his arm strength giving him an opportunity to counter.

"No more losing, never, not again," Prime shouted with his voice raised to the peak.

"Yeahhhhhh," Laden shouted in unison.

The duo felt themselves grow a bit stronger, and that tiny bit was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Bammm!

The beast leader’s hand hit the log heavily, resulting in wood almost shattering.

"Rooooaaarrrr," The beast leader suddenly roared out loud as it stood to his feet, sending its large arms flying straight at Laden’s head.

"Whyyyyyy," Laden screamed internally.
