Chapter 556: I’ll Follow You Wherever You Go

Mika raised his finger, ready to deny everything.

"I—um—"

He wanted to say it was ridiculous. There was no way some experiment of his could cause an entire world annihilation event.

But the words died in his throat.

Because honestly? He couldn’t be sure.

Back then, he had done so much crazy stuff—things that could change entire realms, ruin worlds completely.

There might be a chance, however small, that he had done something that offended or triggered that other world, setting off this chain of events.

Realizing this made him feel incredibly guilty.

But at the same time, he couldn’t bring himself to blame little Mika.

Back then, not only had he been extremely curious about everything, constantly exploring the world and trying new things.

But there was also the Will of the World constantly influencing his mind.

When his mind was idle, he could hear so many voices. Whispering, taunting, dragging him toward negative emotions.

To escape that, he had always done something, anything to keep his mind occupied.

It was why he had so many hobbies and talents.

He simply couldn’t sit still, always running around, always causing chaos.

He had been a headache for all the Battle Angels back then.

They couldn’t hold him down, couldn’t control him. They had just let him rampage, hoping he’d eventually settle down.

Which, apparently, he never did.

Mika leaned back in his seat, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

"But still." He said slowly. "I know I did a lot of stupid stuff in the past. Stuff I most definitely regret."

He wore a look of pride as he said it, which made the sisters roll their eyes.

"But I still don’t remember doing something that would cause an invasion of our world. Especially not a Super Collider world."

He tried to think back. Had he maybe slept with a queen of some realm he had visited?

Not even knowing it was a Super Collider world?

Maybe the king was coming for revenge?

But before he could ponder further, a familiar purple and gold portal opened directly in front of him.

The Maiden of Fate’s beautiful purple eyes appeared, staring at him with an expression of utter exasperation.

Her voice, when it came, carried the weight of someone who had long since run out of patience.

"You absolute dummy...You’re completely misunderstanding the situation."

All three sisters turned toward the portal, their attention captured.

The Maiden of Fate shook her head slowly as she explained,

"You didn’t cause any trigger or reaction that made another world invade us."

"Instead..."

She looked at Mika with an intense gaze that seemed to burn straight through him.

"You’re the very reason that a Third Super Collider world got created!"

Mika’s jaw dropped so far it nearly hit the table.

All three sisters stared in utter shock.

"What?!" Mika finally managed to sputter. "What do you mean by that? That’s crazy! That’s absolutely insane!"

But the Maiden didn’t explain further. She simply said, "Just think about what you did in the past, and you’ll understand." before the portal closed and she vanished.

The four of them sat in stunned silence.

Mika sat there, utterly baffled. Before, it had already been quite crazy to think that because of him, another world was invading.

But now, she was saying he had created that world itself!

He had no idea what to think.

Charlotte broke the silence first.

"Mika." She said slowly, her voice dripping with mock drama. "You were a traitor all along?"

Astrid gasped, playing along. "You betrayed the human race?!"

Anya shook her head in exaggerated dismay.

"To think the one I loved so much would be the cause of our realm’s invasion. Who would have thought?"

Mika started shaking his head frantically.

"No, no, no! It’s not true! She’s spouting nonsense!"

He gestured at himself desperately.

"Look at me! Do I look like someone who would betray his own realm and create an entire world just to invade it?"

The three sisters exchanged glances. None of them responded.

Mika’s heart sank.

Charlotte patted his shoulder sympathetically.

"It’s okay, Mika. Even if you did betray our realm, I wouldn’t mind. I only care about you. If you’re going to another realm, I’ll follow you."

Mika opened his mouth to protest. "No, that’s not—"

But before he could finish, Astrid spoke up. Her expression was conflicted, her voice hesitant.

"As someone whose job is literally to govern the entrance of realms and make sure our realm is safe, this is a really difficult decision for me."

She looked into his eyes with unwavering devotion.

"But since you’ve already made your decision, Mika, I’m willing to follow you all along the way."

Mika shook his head frantically. "No, wait, hold on! Why is everyone starting to plan a rebellion already?"

Anya ignored him entirely. She held his hand tightly, her eyes filled with love and adoration.

"It’s alright, Mika. No matter where you go, I’m willing to follow you."

She smirked. "I’m also ready for that. Whatever race may live on the other side, I can easily transform into them and blend in perfectly."

To prove her point, she waved her hand.

Instantly, her pale skin, once flushed with healthy color, turned a vivid green.

She waved again. "If it’s not green, I can make it blue as well."

Her skin shifted to a deep ocean blue.

"I can also add scales." She continued, and scales rippled across her face. "And if a tail is necessary, I can add one too."

A flexible tail swung into existence behind her.

This was of course the power of her blessing. She could mutate her own cells, transform her appearance, even change into a completely different race.

It was only cosmetic, true, she couldn’t actually use the powers of that race.

But it was more than enough for infiltration.

She returned to her human form and squeezed his hands tightly to show her devotion.

All three of them now had the same gaze, a willingness to throw everything aside, just for him.

Mika finally snapped.

"Be quiet! All of you!"

The sisters blinked in surprise.

"No one is betraying anyone! No one is rebelling! No one is going over to another realm right now!"

He sat back down, rubbing his head in frustration.

"I don’t know what happened, but I didn’t create a super collider realm."

He had no memory of anything like that.

Astrid looked uncertain. "Then is Auntie lying to us?"

The moment the words left her mouth, a portal emerged directly in front of her face.

Whoosh!

The Maiden of Fate’s frosty eyes stared out, cold and unamused.

Astrid’s tail shot straight up in fright. She had clearly said something she shouldn’t have.

But before anyone could panic, Mika shook his head.

"No. Even though she likes to overreact to everything and butt into other people’s business..."

He said, and he felt the Maiden’s eyes grow even colder.

"...she’s definitely not a liar. So if she says I was really the cause of the creation of another realm, then it’s most definitely true."

The cold eyes softened slightly, and the Maiden gave a small nod of approval before the portal closed.

Astrid let out a massive sigh of relief, the pressure in the room dissipating entirely.

She turned toward Mika, slowly asking,

"Then...what exactly happened, Mika? How did this situation come to be?"

"I have absolutely no clue at all." Mika gave a helpless smile and held up both hands. "None whatsoever."

And that was the honest truth.

Mika was racking his brains, trying to figure out what he had done in the past to cause something like this.

Creating a Super Collider World was not a simple task by any means.

The time and effort it would take was absurd. He had never done anything remotely like that before.

But still, the Maiden of Fate had no reason to lie. She had called him out, and her words had been filled with conviction.

So it had to be true.

This only confused him more.

What could he possibly have done to cause such a massive-scale event?

Finally, he realized that thinking like this wouldn’t help. He needed to gather more information.

"Let’s go talk to those three guys who came out of the realm." He said, standing up abruptly. "Maybe if I can get some words out of their mouths, I’ll be able to figure out exactly where I screwed up and how to fix it."

The others nodded, standing as well. That seemed like the ideal solution.

All three of them followed Mika out of the restaurant.

The other patrons watched in admiration and jealousy as three daughters of the most powerful beings in the world trailed behind him like loyal soldiers.

But as they reached the door, Mika suddenly stopped. He noticed something and quickly made his way to the counter.

"Can I get a slice of lemon pie?" He asked, a gentle smile on his face.

The waiter blinked in surprise, clearly not expecting the request.

But he quickly recovered, taking a plate and selecting a slice from the display case.

Mika handed over the money and walked out of the store, pie in hand.

Astrid looked at him curiously.

"Is that for you, Mika? Are you really that hungry that you need another slice of pie?"

Anya tilted her head. "I thought all the dishes you ate would be enough to satiate your appetite. It seems that wasn’t enough either."

Charlotte patted his back encouragingly.

"Good little brother!" She said, playing the role of his older sister. "You need to eat a lot to grow stronger in the future!"

Mika shook his head. "It’s not for me."

He looked up at the sky, speaking to empty space.

"It’s for you. I know how much you love your lemon pie, and the pie they make here is quite good."

He offered the plate toward the heavens.

"Here, have a try. I know you’ll love it."

The three sisters exchanged skeptical glances.

Their aunt was furious right now, there was no way she would appear.

But to their shock, a purple and gold portal opened above them.

The Maiden of Fate’s eyes stared down at Mika with a contemplative gaze.

He stared back, his casual smile never wavering.

Just as they thought she was about to refuse, a pale hand reached out and took the plate, pulling it into the portal.

A voice came through, sounding harsh but carrying an undercurrent of warmth.

"Hmph! Don’t think just because you gave me this treat, I’m going to forgive you for everything you did to my sisters, Mika."

The portal closed, and Mika let out a satisfied smile.

Charlotte couldn’t contain her curiosity.

"What exactly was Auntie saying, Mika? She mentioned something about you doing something to our mothers? I don’t understand."

The other two girls also looked at him strangely, their eyes filled with questions.

Mika just put his hands over all three of their shoulders—spreading himself enough that both Astrid and Anya could be covered in one arm and said,

"Don’t worry about it. We have more important things to do."

And even though all three of them felt as if he was hiding something, they were simply happy to spend their day with Mika.

They forgot their suspicions and skipped along beside him, making their way toward Astrid’s office.

It was there that the three prisoners awaited—about to face the most horrific, horrible pain of their entire lives at Mika’s hands.
