Chapter 294: Battling The Death Emissary (II)

The question made Emissary Exorus pause in his steps as he raised the katana to his chest.

"It’s a weapon belonging to my Lord."

He replied.

"Forged from the essence of the God of Death and Destruction itself."

The words made White’s casualness fully fade away, because right now, with all of his power, his instincts were screaming at him.

The moment his senses brushed against the blade, they met an existence so saturated with Death and Destruction that even his evolved soul instinctively recoiled.

It wasn’t murderous intent, nor killing intent. It was something far older.

A law.

One that spoke a single decree:

The undeniable and absolute certainty that everything which existed... must one day perish.

Even his Infinity Energy, which usually flowed flawlessly throughout his body, hesitated for the briefest instant upon sensing the katana, stopping its flow and allowing the blade to cleave completely through his arm.

If this blade had indeed been forged from the essence of the Concept of Death and Destruction, then it was undoubtedly a weapon worthy of standing alongside his own Mallory Umbrawyro Artifact.

"I finally have your attention."

The words echoed out as Emissary Exorus noticed the clear change in White’s gaze.

Long gone was that calmness, now replaced by caution.

He slowly lifted the blade as faint silver streams of temporal energy wrapped themselves around its black edge.

"The Death and Destruction you feel belong entirely to its creator. But as you can sense, it’s not the only thing."

"I’ve also woven my own time essence into it for hundreds upon hundreds of years."

The smile disappeared, replaced by a vein of darkness running across the Emissary’s face.

"Now, our battle begins!"

Shifting the blade to the side, the entire domain was instantly ripped into two from the simple motion.

Veins bulged across the Emissary’s hands, and then.

"Epoch Severance!"

He disappeared instantly, only to reappear before White, cleaving the blade straight toward his neck.

White’s Infinity Energy surged outward like a tsunami, a blue halo rippling around them.

The system panel flashed in the next moment,

[Skill, Zero Crown, has been activated.]

[Effect, Absolute Halt — Motion may be halted, is now in use.]

The slashing momentum of the Death Emissary came to a stop, the blade itself freezing in place, but only for a second before it resumed forward.

That single second was all White needed.

In a flash, he disappeared, reappearing outside the Emissary’s attack range, and two massive fists wrapped in raging Infinity Energy smashed forward with apocalyptic force.

The Death Emissary reacted with insane speed, spinning with the momentum of his own slash to face White before cleaving downward with the blade toward White’s arm.

Blade and arm collided, and the result was immediate.

The katana tore through White’s Limitless arm like a knife through butter, but then,

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!

A dagger glowing with Infinity Energy ripped into the Emissary’s neck as White lunged forward, driving it straight through and out the other side.

[Effect, Selective Creation — Infinity Energy may be given form, is now in use.]

"DIIIIIIIIIIIIE!"

Emissary Exorus roared, using one hand to grab White’s wrist while the others swept toward White’s chest.

But then,

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!

White jerked backward with such force that his own arm was ripped from his shoulder.

Time paused for a single second, the blade stopping inches from his ribs allowing White to flash away and reappear directly above the Emissary.

CLAAAAAAAP!

With his two remaining hands, he clapped them together, pushing himself down with the momentum and both of White’s legs crashed into Exorus’s head from above.

BOOOOOOOM!

CRUUUUUUMBLE!

The entire skyscraper collapsed as Emissary Exorus crashed through it, disappearing into the abyss that had opened below.

Silence followed...but it lasted less than a second.

A massive pitch-black arc suddenly slashed toward White, who flashed sideways, his head leaning back to avoid having his face cleaved apart.

He looked downward and saw the silhouette racing toward him.

In the next moment, White raised both hands and folded them together.

Emissary Exorus’s charge came to a screeching halt, and then, as though time itself had reversed, he was hurled backward into the crater he had emerged from.

[Effect, Infinite Prison — Exile targets beyond reachable distance, is now in use.]

"Destruction Severance!"

CLIIINK!

SHATTTTTTERR!

White’s folded fists suddenly felt as though a bomb had detonated within them.

They were violently forced apart, and White took three steps back, staring at the cut that had appeared across both palms.

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!

Space behind him tore open, and he tilted his head aside, avoiding a slash through the face, then shifted again to avoid another.

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!

...

Hundreds upon hundreds of massive destruction arcs rippled through the sky with each passing second, until eventually Earth’s sky itself was reduced to one gigantic black hole, casting the entire world into pitch darkness.

The only remaining light was the faint blue glow mixed among those black slashes, shining brighter than the sun with every passing arc.

After what felt like an eternity, it all stopped, and it was as though the world itself held its breath, awaiting the conclusion of the battle.

It wasn’t just the Humans sealed within the buildings.

Even the various Supernaturals and the Alphanomalous Creatures looked upward, eyes narrowed, and senses sharpened to the maximum.

And when the darkness finally cleared, all breath froze.

Two figures remained standing in the sky.

One held a massive black sword extended outward, whilst the other hung from the edge of that sword.

He had no arms at all, pale white blood glowing with remnants of blue light dripping down the blade.

That figure was White.

He had lost all of his arms and had finally been impaled by the Sword of Destruction.

The Death Emissary seemed to have won, though he himself had also lost an arm, and half of his body looked torn apart, ribs and organs exposed as though ripped out by some brutal force.

His breath escaped in ragged bursts, yet his eyes burned with victory as he looked up at White.

"In the end... ahhhh, ahhhh, ahhhh..."

"You lost, White Sinclaw!"

He declared.

Yet,

GASSSSPS!

Shocked gasps erupted from below, loud enough to catch the Emissary’s attention.

An aura descended onto space, and Emissary Exodus felt his own spine chill, as he slowly turned his head.

There, behind him, stood a figure that made his heart tremble with horror.

A being cloaked in pitch-black robes with a high collar covering half his face.

Yet those piercing eyes were impossible to hide.

And upon his head rested a woven crown of blue thorns, quietly releasing streams of blue light.

An aura descended upon the world from his mere presence, and billions of beings instantly lost control of their bodies.

Everything fell.

Ordinary Humans and all beings below the Galaxy Rank immediately lost consciousness and collapsed face-first onto the ground.

Galaxy-Ranked beings, Human and Supernatural alike, found themselves unable to look up any longer as their knees crashed into the earth, cracks spreading beneath them under an endless pressure.

Only thirteen beings remained standing.

Twelve of them were the Alphanomalous Creatures, and the thirteenth was Emissary Exorus himself.

He stared between the figure behind him and the White hanging from his sword.

"Disperse."

The calm command echoed across the world, and the White impaled upon Exorus’s sword dissolved into tiny blue motes of light.

They did not vanish. Instead, they flowed into the robed White, who extended a hand from beneath his cloak.

A black grimoire appeared.

Its pages fluttered open as the blue motes entered the book before the hand withdrew back into the robe.

"You... who... what are you?"

Emissary Exorus’ voice cracked with fear as he turned toward the being.

The power...

Ever since he had been born, he had only felt this level of power from just two beings.

Yet as he stared at him...It didn’t make any sense at all.

The figure before him, though mostly hidden by the dark robe, was undoubtedly White himself, yet...

How was this possible?

He had already defeated White!

How could there be another one standing before him, radiating such a monstrous wave of power?

White looked away from the Emissary, his eyes lowering toward the world below.

He could observe that almost ninety percent of the entire population had been rendered unconscious.

Not only that, but all around him were green and red runes appearing across his body, desperately trying to constrict the space around him.

All of it made a gleam of light pass through his eyes.

"I did have a feeling Earth would reject my existence to avoid its own destruction..."

White whispered quietly.

"I guess that feeling was correct."
