Chapter 128: Arrival

Smashed to the ground, the Crimson Tyrant’s body went limp from the impact of his punch.

The ground beneath trembled, as if in awe of the battle above it.

Dust clouds rose into the air, and shattered fragments and debris rained down across the forest.

ROAR!

Suddenly, the Crimson Tyrant’s eyes snapped open with primal ferocity.

Its maw split apart, revealing rows of jagged fangs drenched in blood and gore as deafening roar exploded from its throat

Without warning, the seemingly incapacitated monster launched a vicious counterattack of its own.

Its maw snapped toward Desther with lethal ferocity, threathenign to devour him whole. Not only that, its tail full of jagged spikes whipped through the air like a steel whip, tearing apart the ground on its path as it swept toward him with unbelievable sound.

BOOOM!

Surprisingly enough, the tail created a sonic explosion, a testament to the strength behind that attack.

Desther’s vision remained fixated on place, on the maw of the monster in front of him, seemingly unaware of the incoming tail swipe of the Crimson Tyrant.

However, at the moment before the tail landed on him, Desther had already moved, as though anticipating the attack in the first place.

His figure blurred as he repositioned himself on top of the Crimson Tyrant.

The Crimson Tyrant’s golden-slit eyes dilated for a brief moment, realizing that its enemy had unknowingly moved above it.

However, when it looked up, the heel of Detsher’s foot was already descending toward its head with surgical precision.

’Too slow...’

Desther murmured under his breath as the axe kick landed squarely on its head. This time, the strength he used was greater, and much more lethal. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

BOOM!

The impact detonated like thunder, the Crimson Tyrant’s body caved in, slamming headfirst deep into the earth once more. A crater several meters wide appeared beneath it, cracks spiderwebbed violently across the ground.

Before the Crimson Tyrant could even recover, another axe kick was already on its way to its head again.

And then another.

By the time Desther’s feet paused in midair, a notification had already informed him of the monster’s death.

Glancing down, the Crimson Tyrant lay on the ground unmoving.

Its head and skull cracked beyond measure, its brain splattered around like fragments of jelly.

The crimson scales on its back, famous for being hard enough to withstand high-caliber bullets, had fractured from his repetitive strike.

The jagged row of spikes that ran along its spine has now been kept, tucked like a dog’s tail between its legs.

Now outside a dungeon, the Crimson Tyrant naturally no longer counts as a Dungeon Boss despite retaining its high attributes as one.

Jumping off the monster’s back, Desther landed beside its head as he pondered.

’Its claws should fetch a good price, right?’

...

Lexie stood in silence a few meters away from the battlefield.

Her back was still aching from the injury she received, so she was more than happy to lend this battle to Desther.

She was also curious.

Curious at how massive their gap had become since the few days that they had not seen each other.

She knew for sure that Desther was already a Tier 1.

A chance to see what kind of Class he chose now lay before her.

She only needs to wait.

Or so she thought.

When the battle started, Lexie immediately realized the disparity in strength, and speed of Desther and the Crimson Tyrant.

Desther kept on moving at the last second, seemingly reacting a little too late from the tyrant’s attack.

Yet as a speedster herself, she knew that Desther was deliberately moving at the last second with surgical precision.

His gaze remained calm and without any disturbance, even when the Crimson Tyrant launched a sneak attack, Desther was still able to evade and even create his own counterattack toward it.

And despite all of that, Lexie had never seen Desther show any signs of having a class.

He used no skills in the battle.

Merely relying on hand to hand combat and pure physical power to dominate a boss-type monster feared by many, the Crimson Tyrant.

Questions rose inside her mind, but she knew she was not in the right place to voice them out.

How was he so strong already?

What kind of class did he choose in the end?

And to what extent of his power did he display just now?

As an S-Grade Awakener, Lexie might still be able to defeat the Crimson Tyrant with ease, but not as much as Desther did.

What he did was simply beyond the norm, so much so that even Lexie herself felt that it was kind of ridiculous.

If any of her family learned of such a feat, they would surely think that she was merely boasting.

Lexie saw Desther jump off the back of the Crimson Tyrant he just slayed.

She saw him murmur something all the while staring at the monster’s claws.

Even without hearing his words, Lexie kind of guessed what he was talking about.

Shaking her head, Lexie moved toward Desther, deciding to help him dissect the monster instead of idling around.

As she walked step by step, her movement suddenly stiffed as a palpable feeling rose inside her head.

She was all too familiar with this feeling.

This was the feeling she would get every time she sensed that something was wrong.

’Danger!’

Her thoughts spun crazily as she tried to identify the crux of the matter.

As realization drove her mind, she suddenly saw a shadow descend from out of nowhere right behind Desther.

The claw extended forward like a sword, slashing toward Desther’s back with intense ferocity.

Still admiring the claw, Desther seemed unaware of the danger behind him.

Seeing that, Lexie did not hesitate any longer.

Her figure blurred into motion as the sword on her waist was automatically drawn.

As she moved forward at breakneck speed, her blurry figure suddenly turned golden, as a deafening roar of thunder blasted out, as if announcing the arrival of the emperor–

No—

Announcing the arrival of the Empress of Lightning!
