Chapter 102: Chapter102-Special Area
Ben looked at the completed transaction interface, feeling rather pleased.
With this batch of dungeon teleportation tokens, the gap between Serenity Guild and Fanatic Guild would only grow wider and wider.
He glanced at his chat history with Outlander, and the corner of his mouth twitched.
"Since the transaction is already over, it shouldn’t be too much to curse him a couple of times and vent, right?"
With that thought, he edited a message and sent it.
"Boss Outlander, are you there?"
John saw the message and froze slightly.
One thousand tokens still weren’t enough?
This Serenity_Sage’s appetite was rather large.
He casually replied, "Mm."
Ben licked his lips and was just about to send the sentence he had prepared.
The next second, John’s second message popped in.
"One thousand tokens is this month’s limit."
"If you still want to continue cooperating, I can supply you with another batch next month. The quantity won’t be lower than this time."
"As long as you can afford the gold coins, long-term cooperation won’t be a problem."
Ben’s finger froze above the send button, and his pupils suddenly contracted.
One thousand tokens seemed like a lot, but Serenity Guild had over a thousand elite players under its command. Once distributed, each person would only get to use one.
The gains from a single dungeon run were not enough for him to completely leave his rivals behind.
But if he could do this once every month, then after three months, five months...
He hurriedly deleted the message he had already typed, one word at a time, and rewrote a new line.
"No problem. We’ll continue trading next month. Gold coins won’t be an issue."
After sending it, he thought for a moment and added another sentence.
"Boss Outlander, in the future, if you obtain anything good that you can’t use yourself, please consider Serenity Guild first."
"I’m backed by a major financial group. Money has never been a problem on my side. I guarantee the price will satisfy you."
John replied with four words.
"Got it. We’ll see."
Then he closed the chat channel.
...
On Space Sever Mountain Range.
John put away the chat interface and turned his head to look at LoranBlade, who was crouching on the ground and wiping the body of her sword.
"The Hidden Quest for your Floating Sword should be almost done, right?"
"Next, are you going down the mountain and returning to the main city, or do you want to keep heading upward?"
LoranBlade raised her head and looked at him in surprise.
"Boss, don’t tell me you want to stay here and farm those low-level monsters?"
John glanced at her.
"There might be better things up there, such as Mount Eggs."
He had always been too lazy to explain too much, but he had mentioned the Spatial Elephant Mount Egg earlier, so LoranBlade quickly understood.
Those flashy and cool Spatial Elephants were indeed excellent bargaining chips for seizing the mount market. If they could find a stable production channel in Space Sever Mountain Range, the profits would flow endlessly.
LoranBlade nodded.
"Then I’ll go up with you. My Hidden Quest isn’t finished yet anyway. I still need to hunt quite a few space-type wild monsters."
John did not ask any further.
The two continued heading toward the summit.
Before they had gone far, a rustling sound suddenly came from ahead.
Dozens of giant pythons glowing with a faint purple luster poked their bodies out from tree trunks and grass. Their scarlet tongues flickered in the air as they slowly surrounded the two of them.
LoranBlade raised her hand and cast Detection Spell.
[Void Serpent (Common)]
A Lv.40 B-Rank wild monster.
LoranBlade did not even have time to turn back and ask John for instructions before her longsword was already unsheathed.
Three silver-white spatial sword auras swept out. Wherever they passed, the Void Serpents exploded into clouds of blood mist.
[You have killed a Lv.40 Void Serpent. EXP +40,000!]
[You have killed a Lv.40 Void Serpent...]
System notifications rang one after another, and a golden light descended onto LoranBlade.
Her level rose again.
John watched quietly from behind, calculating silently in his heart.
Along the way, LoranBlade had been following him, and her level had risen rapidly. From the level twenties when they first met, she had now already broken past the threshold of Lv.40.
If this leveling speed were placed outside, who knew how many guilds would become jealous?
Unfortunately...
John looked at the corpses scattered across the ground and shook his head slightly.
Although there were plenty of these Void Serpents, they did not drop Mount Eggs.
If there were a stable source of Spatial Elephant Mount Eggs, that would be a true money tree.
Ahead, more Void Serpents surged out from all directions.
LoranBlade was killing with growing excitement. Silver light scattered everywhere as her longsword danced, sweeping through everything in her path without pause.
John crossed his arms and slowly followed behind her, occasionally stepping over the corpses on the ground.
This slaughter continued for nearly an hour.
When the final Void Serpent crashed to the ground, two more golden lights descended onto LoranBlade one after another.
She let out a breath, wiped the nonexistent sweat from her forehead, and turned back with a smile.
"That felt great!"
Dozens of light clusters were scattered across the ground, along with densely packed Void Serpent corpses.
LoranBlade looked at the pile of light clusters and grew troubled.
"Boss, my backpack is almost full..."
John glanced at her.
To be honest, he did not care about any of the drops from these B-Rank wild monsters. But since his companion had spoken, he did not refuse.
With a wave of his hand, spatial power surged out. The light clusters scattered across the ground flew toward him one after another and entered his backpack in order.
[You have obtained Void Serpent Scale Armor x1.]
[You have obtained Void Serpent Bracers x1.]
[You have obtained Void Serpent Leather Boots x1.]
[You have obtained...]
A long string of system notifications rang in his mind.
John casually opened the details page of one piece of equipment and glanced over it, his expression calm.
B-Rank attributes.
Not even a percentage bonus.
In his eyes, this kind of equipment was no different from blank gear. But in the hands of ordinary players outside, it could still be pieced together into a fairly decent set of mixed equipment.
After the two finished sorting things out, they continued heading toward the summit.
However, after walking for less than half an hour, the air ahead suddenly became viscous.
Spatial ripples trembled violently at an almost berserk frequency. The air was filled with silver-white rifts visible to the naked eye, crisscrossing like a dense spiderweb.
[Hint: You are currently suffering continuous damage from Spatial Corrosion. Please pay attention to your status.]
The system notification rang inside both of their minds at the same time.
LoranBlade’s footsteps suddenly stopped.
Those berserk spatial rifts coiled around her body like living creatures, and her HP began falling at a visible speed.
Her entire body froze in place. A layer of fine silver-white patterns appeared across the surface of her body. It was the sign that Spatial Corrosion was suppressing her.
"Boss, I can’t withstand this!"
LoranBlade’s face turned pale as she gritted her teeth and said, "I’ll retreat first and wait for you in the forest outside."
"When you’re done, just send me a message after you come out."
John nodded.
LoranBlade decisively retreated, quickly exiting the Spatial Corrosion area. Only after the air around her returned to normal did she finally let out a long breath.
John withdrew his gaze and continued forward alone.
To others, this area was a death zone.
But to him, it posed no threat at all.
With Spatial Authority in his possession, those berserk spatial rifts disappeared on their own the instant they approached his body. They could not even touch the corner of his clothes.
He strode forward.
The wild monsters he encountered along the way were also far more ferocious than before.
